Sandra Kaufmann, is a cell biologist who for the last seven years has been the Chief of Pediatric Anesthesia at the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. She is also the founder of the Kaufmann Antiaging Institute and the author of two books, The Kaufmann Protocol: Why We Age and How to Stop It and her new book, The Kaufmann Protocol: Aging Solutions. In the books she describes the mechanisms of aging on a cellular level and provides details on many of the supplements that we can use to slow it down.

Of all the brains on YT, Dr. Kaufmann's seems to work harder than most.
If memory serves, relative to SIRT6 activation, black olives, red onions, and blackberries contain cyanadin. I'm sure there are others in the literature. Also fasting and low insulin. I've tried fuciodan, based on Vera Gorbanova's research showing it was a major activator, but the brand of powdered seaweed I have has a nasty taste (working on how best to consume ). Just checking notes on SIRT3, which says it can be activated by cold exposure. Of course, in all of the interventions It's not clear how they rank and what the effective dose is. Low insulin keeps coming up as having pleotropic benefits (raising NMN and AKG are just two)
Apigenin activates sirt3. It also help sleep, I think I'm going to switch from quercetin to apigenin.
As for sirt6, aronia bays are the highest in cyanidins. A study has shown in vivo that it activates sirt6 and thanks to that it reduces the symptoms of arthritis. I think Gorbanova has also tested her fucoidan in vivo. Perhaps a mix of aronia bays and her fucoidan would make sense in order to reach more tissues and have a more overall effect in the body?

This video is one of the reasons I wrote a book which is being launched in September , I see she is anesthesiologist not a internal medicine doctor - so as an internal medicine acute inpatient doctor I will say people please do not take specially women please do not take unless you need Pioglitazone long term it can poorly affect bone metabolism, liver and heart - I keep receiving patients because of such misinformation, there is ZERO data on metformin please unless you have diabetes you do not need it - there are SO many ways to improve your mitochondrial health in natural ways I mean I am really sad that healthcare workers aren’t really careful on what they dish out - I had to write this book because of all this -I am STUNNED at misinformation going around ,
I wish you could pull together the most robust research on diet and TRE protocols for anti aging.
It seems far more accessible for the mainstream.

Hi Bob, thanks for your comment. I don't think we talked about biomarkers and measuring in this interview but we did in her previous. As I recall she does not measure them often, but when she does they come back good, we did not go into specifics.

Concerning pterostilbene, it has a short half-life of 1.5 hours, should it be taken several times a day? Or would it be good to put the content of the pill in a glass of water and take sips throughout the day? If one takes the pill at once, could it pose a problem by reaching a concentration that's too high during the peak, leading to some problems, and a couple hours later the concentration is too low so it becomes ineffective? That's why I tend to prefer supplements with longer half lives such as quercetin, which has a half-life of 11 hours. Mmh not sure...
