    Oh Raquel, I feel for you love, you do have a lot on your plate and I can see that It’s overwhelming. Maybe the kids or Dale could do the bins every other day or so and wash their dishes etc as they go to help you a bit? I remember when my kids were teens and I was working full time. They soon learned to bring their washing to the laundry otherwise their clothes just didn’t get washed or folded/ironed. It took a week of them being slack and not having their washing done to realise and get with the program! lol I believe your kids are at an age where they could be more help to you love. Maybe put a dirty clothes basket in their rooms to make it easier for you.
    Could you put a couple of shelves up in your kitchen above the bins perhaps to accommodate the extra bits and bobs? That might be an economical way of addressing your space issues in the kitchen?
    Woman to woman Raquel, you need to take better care of yourself darlin.
    You’ve done so well, it’s a shame you’re having to do all of this on your days off.
    I can tell Woody loves you ❤ he’s such a sweet boy.

      It only gets to me every so often and if I let them get to the point where they run out of clothes and things they start to steal mine and then I have no clothes, I tried it. I saw a lady on RUclips who got sick of being the only one cleaning in her house so she refused to do her husband’s laundry until he caved and did it himself. I asked Del what would you all do if I did that, he said “we would have to do our own” so I tried it. Del ended up wearing my socks and Alyssa was wearing my trousers to work even though they are too big for her. So in the end I had to cave or I was going to end up going to work sky clad and then I’d end up behind bars. God alone knows what mess I’d come home to after a stint in jail 😂.

    Sometimes you just have to rant and it's okay!!!!! I would absolutely sit your whole family down and put your foot down hard. Tell them they are to clean up after their own selves. Your not their maid. If they use it put it away. If they dirty it clean it!. If your daughter wants you to clean her room, do her and her boyfriends laundry, clean their dirty dishes ect. Tell them they need to pay rent. Everyone who lives there should clean up after themselves. Sounds like your youngest is a good young man. Even your husband needs to contribute. You need to get it through their heads, or your going to have a nervous breakdown. You are only one person. I feel so bad for you that your going through this! Sending love and hugs to you!🦋🦋❤❤❤❤🦋🦋❤❤❤❤🦋🦋🦋🦋❤❤❤❤🦋🦋❤❤❤❤

      Del works really long shifts. He pulls his wait in other ways, like cooking and odd jobs. He really is a good man and good husband, just housework is low on his list of priorities lol. My son is amazing he picks up chores without even being asked most of the time but when asked he is straight on it. My daughter’s boyfriend has gone back to his parents now where he can relax and not worry about helping out or paying his way. My daughter works a fair few hours as well. It’s a lot on my plate but for the most part I can deal it’s just some days your head blows lol.

      Thankfully this overwhelming feeling doesn’t happen to often, normally around the time of the month and then I just get to move on again with life. I do find the balance of the home is very much tipped over in my direction though which is hard, at work I get a list of jobs want doing I work through those and clock if at the end of the day, I get a commute all to myself and I get a rest break that is a rest break. With the house work it’s all day everyday no breaks no down time and even if you do get a break your having a break surrounded by the constant reminder of what you haven’t done yet

    Hi hun I have not used bleach for 25years ,so dangerous I hate the stuff and the smell , for stains on worktops,sinks,cutlery and cups use bicarbonate of soda with white vinegar, make a paste, it whitens all my mugs tea stains, whitens worktops, yet safe, I get vinegar from supermarket food grade , bicarbonate from cake aisle, anywhere that needs a good scrub like bins ,walls, use cup white vinegar, to cup of water, few squirt of washing up liquid , works amazing , you can also use white vinegar for weeds xx I feel your pain, I have 3 adult kids at home in a flat as we had to downsize due to financial difficulties , , and I have fibromyalgia, so I’m always chasing my tail x never mix white vinegar with bleach or other cleaning products x use white vinegar for toilet bowl neat x sending you hugs, I’m about to start my backlog of mess as I’ve been unwell and feel overwhelmed,watching your video has helped so much ❤

      100%! It's not like there are young children in this house. I don't understand why everything is dumped on the floor and ok, everyone is working, etc, but it's not right to expect one person to constantly pick up after the other three.

    • @RaquelTrotter
      @RaquelTrotter  2 месяца назад

      I’ve had them help before but I find mentally it is more taxing to keep nagging and asking for help than it is to just get the stuff done myself. Trust me I have tried in the past. Perhaps if I’d started when they were very very small and accepted that they didn’t do things perfectly and gave them the chance to practice things might be different no but when they were little and even now they are older I’d have to see the job needed doing, ask them over and over again to do said job, think of and enforce discipline if they didn’t do said task, ultimately end up doing said task any because it was never done or never done properly. I’d end up mentally exhausted and overwhelmed. I quickly learned to save my sanity and time, I should just do it myself

    Hard relate to everything you rant about! And i feel the same, im fine with my role in the family but every now and again the overwhelm hits hard and you just need a massive rant or just need a quick cry before i get sh## done. I think the older kids get, the bigger the mess. When they're little, it's just toys to be picked up and some grubby handprints but teenagers.. mine at least.. are a whole different ball game. I know your daughter works, i get what you're saying. But its not too much to ask that she takes the bins out or washes dishes a couple of times a week.. same with Del and your son. Be kind to yourself Raquel! You're one person and you matter ❤

    • @RaquelTrotter
      @RaquelTrotter  2 месяца назад

      In all honesty I’ve found it more exhausting to be constantly reminding them all about the mess and their job to help clean up. I’ve also found they do an awful job doing it a lot of the time so I just don’t ask as I know most of the time I’m going to have to complete the job at a later time or start nagging again to have the job done properly I then get the resistance that “ we try our best and it’s just not good enough why should we try” which makes me feel guilty I’m not more grateful. Honestly it’s just less draining to do it myself

    Is there any way you could save and pay landscapers to take care of all that yard work one time? That's a lot for one person to tackle

    • @RaquelTrotter
      @RaquelTrotter  Месяц назад

      @@jflsdknf I have considered it many many times but to get it all taken care of would cost so much, by the time we got the money saved it would be even more overgrown and run down so we would need more money as there would be more work needing to be done. I’m thinking on just fencing it off into areas and getting one area done at a time so I can have a walk through garden with different zones

      Thank you. My husband does help but he works more hours than I do so I take care of most of the house work. We thought about putting shelves up in the kitchen but the only wall space to put them up would mean we either couldn’t reach them or they would be at a level where we would keep hitting ourselves on them. We’re working on figuring out the storage issues, it’s just going to take time
