My Quad Can’t Buy a Thrill via Discogs arrived late this afternoon. WOW! Elliot’s guitar playing is amazing Elliot is right there in the center channel and Donald Fagen’s voice is right there in front. Well worth the purchase!
Played it on my VPI Scout with a Hana Umami Blue cart, Bob’s Devices Sky 40 SUT through a tube phono pre and out to a 300B 8-watt tube amp. Thanks Tim for the vid. 2 thumbs up, way up!

Quadraphonic records are interesting for the different mixes, I own a few but not Reelin’ in the Years. I will look for it now. Great video…👍
i had the 1975 quad reissue. i ended up selling because of the track youre raving about. "reelin in the years" on my copy of the quad the whole album was awesome except for reelin in the years. the lead guitar parts are mixed in the background. I dont know if you notice it on yours but on my 1975 it was so distracting i ended up selling it.
This seems to be the exact opposite - lead guitar really brought up front & center
Got rid of my copy as well, wasn't interested in extra guitar.same with court and spark,didn't like the extras.
@@Universityofvinylinteresting. now i want to try the 74 quad. however i have the analog productions uhqr now which is probably better overall i suppose.
