  • My pops visits Maine for the first time for a little fishing and eating whatever we can catch from the jetties and piers of the coast! We caught squid, crabs, rockfish, mackerel and saw loads of lobster! The cookout on the beach was the best way to end it.
Keep trying new things and leveling up in real life!

Been doing the breakwater as the locals call it my whole life. Not sure why but the mackerel are usually always bigger then the ones you got this day. The other baitfish schooling up look to be POGIES. Fantastic lobster bait due to the oils in the skin. Next time your in maine Rockport harbor is a mackerel hotspot!! The best mackerel bait is actually chunks of mackerel.

You need to come to the west coast here in Canada and go trolling for salmon. It is by far my favourite type of fishing. If you want it to be guided there is a great lodge called Nootka Marine Adventures that have tons of guides and even boats that you can take out yourself. You also sleep in these awesome yurts. This sounds like an ad for the lodge but I just loved fishing there.

Hi my friend, I'm from Maine and I know our lobster population is getting low. That's probably why you have to be a resident to keep them. I've always wanted to do this but have never had the opportunity. I would have loved to be with you and gotten my limit and shared. We could have had a delicious feast. A couple weeks ago we had a haddock fry at my granddaughters birthday celebration and all the haddock was from a fishing trip my son in law did this summer. Delicious!! I hope you enjoyed our beautiful state.😊❤
