I think it is pretty sad that they have abandoned their home. It is weird to present the lunarians as the villains when they were the people under attack most of the times (Yukari twice, real world and hell).
Touhou is Infinite, leaving so many beautiful Stories to be told. And around every Corner lies a new Tale or adventure, waiting to be thought of. This beautiful, fictional world of never ending possibilities. Great work, great Channel.

The difference between Lunarians & Humans stems from Humans living within the cycle of life & death & Lunarians rejecting it. Therefore, the moon is nearly eternal but sterile while the Earth is lively & vibrant, but people & things change & pass away. Or at least, I think some touhou wiki somewhere kind of explained it that way.
