Wow. Not the usual breakfast casserole! What a refreshing and unusual combination for a breakfast/brunch casserole. Any holiday, special occasion or celebration would appreciate it. But so would any day one wanted to start off right! This dish has inspired too many comments from me. Tom and Melissa, you can tell your subscribers love you. And one is extremely generous. That casserole dish is gorgeous! Can I say I'm jealous? As always, I'm sure your casserole will be great ... but Anything being served out of that beauty would automatically have an step up. Agree? • The crazy way my mind works ... a strange thought just jumped into my head that this recipe could be altered into a great twist on Eggs Benedict. I know it would be a bit different and call for more extensive meal prep but for those who want to push the prestige envelope it would give it a more glorious presentation. To accomplish this one would use a framework similar to the Benedict style using the English muffin as a base that could be spread with a light cheese sauce (bringing in the bubbling cheese from the top of your casserole) followed by a poached egg (vs the hard boiled slices) then crowned with a dramatic white sauce or version of a Hollandaise sauce that includes the very small cooked shrimp used in the original recipe. Granted that's a lot more work for very similar flavors but if needing to serve them one at a time that would work. However, it's your family/casual brunch version I'll be trying this Sunday. Sounds so good!
We really appreciate that you have shared your ideas with us all. We love that our viewers are so kind to share with everyone. And yes, that casserole dish is absolutely gorgeous! We were so touched by the kindness.
I have never seen that recipe before. And I was not quite sure when you started describing it. But, I would eat anything out of that most beautiful casserole dish! Thanks for sharing!
Every time I hear you say we’re welcome to sit at your table - I keep saying to myself If I’m ever in your neck of woods I would love to pop over . My family and I growing up loved sharing conversation and laughs with meals. We’re getting older now so we get together less but have wonderful memories.
Merry Christmas to you and Melissa. Thank you for bringing us another delicious looking recipe… It really sounds good. 🙏🏻🙏🏻 By the way, I love your gold wedding band. My husband and my wedding bands are just lil gold bands. We bought them at Kmart in Kokomo Indiana in 1971 before we were married in 1972. Mine was $7.00, his was $8.00. They’ve been on our fingers for 51 years. I would have worn a cigar band had he given it to me.
I absolutely LOVE this story! Thank you so much for sharing it with us. It has made me smile just imaging you happily wearing a cigar band! Because it's really not the ring, it's the love behind it.
Thank you for putting your recipes on the available page. So many other tube hosts make you join something, go to a blog site or make you buy their cookbook to get it. Thank you once again
I think this would be good with green onions on top! Thank you for all your wonderful videos. You guys have become like family to me. Here's to a wonderful 2024. May God bless you.
This is definetly different, I may have to try it on a Thursday before Christmas just to see if I think my family will like it. I will like it because I love shrimp and I love boiled eggs. Merry Christmas🎄
That's a good idea. If someone is not a fan of shrimp, they probably won't care for this. Thank you so much for watching our channel and we hope you have a very Merry Christmas!
Oh my goodness Tom…that looks amazing and I’m going to make it Sunday with my family. If they approve I’ll make it a tradition to have on Sundays 😊 Thanks for sharing Thanks Melissa for doing an awesome job with camera ,u2 are wonderful !
Good afternoon Tom, I found the best way to boil eggs, and it always peels so easy even fresh eggs. Take the bigger end of the egg and back of a spoon and tap lightly the big end of the end until you hear a little crack. Then place in your pot of water and when it comes to a boil cook for 6 minutes then put in your cold water. God bless you both 🙏
Merry Christmas!! I have a recipe request, AFTER the holidays, how about a video with a goulash recipe? The American goulash recipe (and if you have time, a second video with the Hungarian goulash recipe). Unless you already did a video on it
I’m not crazy about shrimp, so I probably won’t be trying this recipe. But I have tried several of your recipes and have liked them. That is the most beautiful casserole dish I’ve ever seen.
I imagine that you could sub the shrimp for something you like. Maybe ham, sausage, turkey, mushrooms with light onion. Many things would be good with white sauce and eggs, I would guess. Even folks who like shrimp might enjoy changing it up sometime.
Thanks Tom and Melissa for this great video and recipe, also thanks to Miss Sally for sharing the recipe to Tom. Sure looks like a great meal. I hope we can try it out. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all. Fred.
Thank you for showing me how to peel off egg shells easily. Also I will try your recipe. I never hear of it. I always love to watch your channel. Your wife and you are such wonderful people.
Interesting tip on the cheese. We appreciate feedback like this! And we love when food connects us to a sweet memory like this did for you! Have a very Merry Christmas!

Even fresh eggs will peel if you boil them in salted water. I add about a quarter cup or so to the pot with eggs and boil. They will peel wonderfully.
