The matchmaking so far has proved to be really challenging but this ship feels like it could be really powerful. Thank you Bor Nagro, I hope it helps you in some way. It's quite a tricky ship to play at first. Just wait until you get some favourable matchmaking it transforms into a real powerful ship. I'm really curious about the rest of the line now.
I've been grinding the European line (thanks for those videos too, very helpful especially with the Oland), but I've recently switched over to this line and I've apparently been playing this ship all wrong. I appreciate all the pointers! Going to have to work on that mid-range gunboat playstyle now.

Both the French and EU line have a lot of similiarities in positioning, tactics and playstyle but still with subtle differences. I must admit I prefer the EU line simply because of their increased ability to deal with enemy aircraft.
@@CarbineCarlito I've come to the same conclusion. I ran the EU line first, so the distinct lack of AA with the French DD line took a while to adjust to! Still, I think I'm beginning to see the charm in this line.
Hello and thanks for your video. I got the guepard from a premium container and have to say that even if I have only a 10 point captain I love it. Best game so far 66K damage ONLY with guns cause in that game I wasn't able to land 1 torp. Anyway it's fun nasty DD but as you said require good situational awareness!
Hi Antonio, It feels incredibly strong in games with no cvs i had three 100k+ damage games on the bounce with it. The armor piercing once you get an opportunity to use it is particularly lethal!
yeah you hit the nail on the head. Guepard is pretty much a floating pile of garbage. If you want to play ships without smoke, get the Pan European destroyers. Comparatively Vasteras is not that different from Guepard when it comes to stats, but her base concealment is much better than Guepard and her torps reload much faster with better range and better speed.

I've got the mission but haven't completed the unlock yet, so I searched RUclips to find some how-to vids and wound up here. Nice vid. Questions: To what extent would you describe her as a tech-tree Aigle which gives up smoke for MBRB? The module and skill choices you showed notwithstanding, do you think it's possibly worth taking Main Armaments Mod 2 and/or Expert Marksman to speed up the turret rotation, or are you already too close if you find you need those? Would you consider steering gears mod in the fourth slot, or do you think she is nimble enough already from the baseline? Keep up the good work.
Hi Jsm666, Guépard is very similiar to the Aigle but with longer lasting speed boost and no smoke, these two aspects really define how she plays differently. You are highly unlikely to find yourself in close range turning fights where you can benefit from MA mod 2 or Expert Marksman. With 6.8km concealment range I think the use of this skill and mod would be very situational whereas AR and more accurate guns in medium range engagements are really helpful all of the time. As for steering gears I think she is quite nimble and I really like propulsion mod for being able to dodge just being able to slow down and speed up very quickly to throw off peoples aim is really effective. All very good valid questions btw!
@@CarbineCarlito Thanks for the reply. I will probably put my PT LS BFT CE Aigle captain in her until she stops being semi-premium, so I can grind out her 15K mission for the tokens most effectively. If I don't get any higher-tier unlocks I will leave him there; if I do, he goes into the highest-tier one (I won't be doing the Mogador thing) and can either retrain on the Aigle or I'll pay ECXP for the retraining. I'll bring up another captain from the bottom for the T2-5 ships. I'm going to treat these ships as really being fast, nimble baby cruisers and play them as such.
Thanks for the video! I find the French DDs incredibly difficult to play. It seems that speed as defense is overrated. People learn to adapt quickly and then there seems very little I can do.
Hey N1njaSnake, You are welcome and not alone, a lot of players will have difficulties with the French destroyers but as you said players learn to adapt quickly. After my first 10 games all with carriers I've finally managed to get some matchmaking without cvs and the results were very very good indeed. That's when the speed will start coming more into play, hit and run tactics on enemy ships where you can pull distance and disengage. You can never outrun those planes though.

Thanks Tod Orp, One could take some tactical tips from that line as you could use similiar tactics to a lot cruisers. All the games I've played so far were with carriers so I was forced to play a more withdrawn deeper role which seemed to work quite well generally. However I do see a quite more aggressive game play possible when faced up just against surface ships. I still only have the tier 6 so a lot of experimentation ahead, let the fun and games commence😀
wow i missed the hull upgrade, since the guns dont seem to hit well from 13kms - why would you upgrade the GUN firing control? Wouldn't 11.9 be good enough as you know when you fire you get detected by the full range of the guns right?
@@randyscraft Hi there, as you got the ship from a container it's a free upgrade for the moment. I like having the extra gun range just in case even though you are correct. Due to the slow shell speed at extreme long range it's difficult to land shells reliably. This one is purely down to personal choice.
HATED this DD! One of the worst I've ever played! No smoke, crap HP as a DD, concealment sucks, mediocre guns, and horrible angles on all of the weapons on board. It is a bastard of a cruiser and destroyer and it sucks on both ways!
Hi BHunang92, it can very difficult for some players to make the adjustment to playing destroyers without smokescreens. I'll be the first to admit the French line is not for everyone but important lessons can be learned from playing them especially the lower tiers, sure they are tough but the lessons learned early on will really help you shine in the higher tiers where the French line becomes quite powerful and rewarding.

Since you don’t have smoke, radar or hydro, get RPf instead of ifhg.
This video is really helpful to me and allows me to enjoy playing as dd again. Keep it up, mate!

I own only the Aigle, and that slow turret traverse is a nightmare. At least it has some range, compared to EU DDs.

when i play this ship, i keep getting Ocean map and this ship is crap when you have no cover
DMG Control Mod 1?!French line is all about speed, shotting and running like crazy. DMG is the least usefull mod for it.
Hi Andre, when you get a little higher to the Le Fantasque maybe but until then DC mod 1is by far the more useful skill.
