  • I used 3 instruments with their internal sequencers for this electro / synthwave jam 😉
    CHIMES: The 15-step chimes sequence is being played by the Korg Minilogue XD, hybrid (analog/digital) synth. I also used the Rerun SDK plugin from Sinevibes in order to add some random glitches on the sound.
    BASS: The bass is being played by the Erica Synths DB-01 Bassline analog mono synth. I programmed a few patterns with different notes/feel. I also used the "Accent" feature to make the sequences groove more (it can easily be heard on the intro).
    DRUMS / ACID RIFF: The drums are coming from the Kord Drumlogue hybrid drum machine. It was also the opportunity to use its individual outputs (the little volume knobs don't work when using these outputs... really wish there was an easy way to fix this as the outputs are too hot for guitar pedals 😏).
    The last acid-like sequence is from the Nano synth of the Drumlogue, going through the Darkglass Microtubes X (analog distortion) + Dreadbox Lethargy (analog phaser).
    The DB-01 and Drumlogue Nano synth are both being ducked by the Pill Pedal (triggered by the 4 to the floor pattern of the Drumlogue).
    * Hardware used *
    - Korg Drumlogue: analog and digital drums, Nano synth (through Microtubes X distortion, Lethargy phaser and Pill ducking pedal).
    My videos featuring the Drumlogue: • Drumlogue (Korg) - Hyb...
    - Korg Minilogue XD (+ Sinevibes Rerun): chimes
    - Erica Synths DB-01 Bassline: bass

      Thanks a lot! I'm privileged having a comment from you here🥰 I used the Rerun and Nano effect/instrument for this one and was even willing to use the Dense oscillator I bought a couple of days ago... but it might be for another video if I find some time 😅
      You've really been doing a great job with all the SDK you created, which really helps bring those instruments to another level! 🤩

    I really love how everyone in the hardware electronica scene has their own personal mix and match of gear and workflows. Its so cool to see each persons preferences and what they lead to.

      Hey thanks Farold! 🙏 Even if the Drumlogue is probably not my favorite drum machine, it has its own vibe and I do like all the features it offers (analog and digital/sample engines, powerful sequencer with automation, multiple outputs, multi-engine and logue SDK, etc.)

      @@2MinuteWarning bingo...that’s it. I come from a background in film production and it went through a similar phase where feature-sets of hardware became more important than their vibe or character. It’s refreshing to see a blatantly and almost intentionally technically deficient new product that just swaggers onto an already densely populated scene and does its own thing. I kinda picture it as The Dude Lebowski of drum machines, sitting there in its Korg dressing gown and drinking White Russians happily as the crisply suited and bequiffed slick things of other machines get all showy and blinged out. It cares not. It has its own agenda :)

      Thanks for the kind words Jaffa! 🤗 Though I like the raw sound of the Minilogue XD , I really think that the SDKs can bring it to another level! Here it was probably the Sinevibes Rerun effect which helped adding texture with those random glitches, etc. Also, even if the recording is done in one shot, I generally do some mixing (EQ, dynamics...) before publishing the track, which surely helps to have a more consistent sound 😄 (by the way, really enjoyed the track you released today 😉)

    Comment tu as synchro le tout ( Drumlogue>>Minilogue>>db01 ? )

    • @2MinuteWarning
      @2MinuteWarning  Год назад +2

      Thank you Anthony! 🤗 Pour la synchro je me suis posé la question car je n'ai pas nécessairement choisi la méthode la plus stable ! Je voulais d'abord synchroniser les 3 instruments par la synchronisation analogique (SYNC OUT), mais comme je ils étaient branchés à l'interface MIDI de mon DAW, je suis resté ainsi, mais j'avoue qu'il y avait quelques flottements niveau BPM 😅

    • @2MinuteWarning
      @2MinuteWarning  Год назад +1

      Hey thanks for your comment SYNTH SAMURAI! Actually I have quite a few drum machines and must say that the Drumlogue is not specially my favorite for a few reasons:
      👎:
      - I'm not a big fan of the sounds coming from its analog parts
      - There can be some menu diving if you want to tweak/automate the sounds' parameters
      👍:
      - Quite a powerful sequencer (probability, rachets, offset notes, automation, etc.)
      - 4 outputs
      - Some cool randomization possibilities
      - Integrated open architecture (SDK) synth/effects.
      So it really depends on your needs and tastes I think 😉

    • @2MinuteWarning
      @2MinuteWarning  Год назад +2

      @@synthsamuraiproductions For live performance, I think that the Roland TR-8S is really a good compromise with its 3 nice sound engines (ACB=analog emulation, FM and samples), quite a lot of faders/knobs/buttons, nice features for live breaks like FILL button, stutter, MASTER FX etc. 😉
