How was this 6 years ago?!?! HOW?!?! I watched every day of 2017-18 and I saw the RAW docs as they were coming out!
I had the opportunity and the luck to be at the start in Alicante 2017 and the arrival in The Hage 2018. Spectacular Race
Should really put the year in the title. Thought we were already counting down to the next edition.
Containers, yes raced past one in the southern ocean. Like feet away 90% undercwater so we didnt see it.

They forgot John Fisher from hero's that have lost their lives. Seems like old footage is old.
John Fisher was still alive when this video was made! This video is from August-September 2017, reuploaded now as part of the general 50th anniversary celebration of Race history.
Pretty disappointing to see how against women these teams are. I'm glad things have changed since.
The teams were against the rule. Not the women 😉
I think it was really only Witt who vocally opposed female crew pre-race, and even he changed his mind later on. You certainly couldn’t say Dee Caffari was “against women”!

It's a silly rule. Merit not sex is how cees should be selected.
Forced quotas just decreases the quality of the race
