A person this graceful with the skid-steer probably trips over everything when walking. It's people like this that make people like me think I can go rent one and be good at it in no time. You make it look real easy.
Use a lawn sprayer nozzle and fill with diesel for even spread, especially with your rakes shovels, if your tools are getting clumps of cold Ashphalt spray some diesel on them and stick it in the hot Ashphalt , comes off like butter
People think this is showing off, but It's good to know skills like this, because you never know when you'll have to do something of the sort to get the job done.
I do, he told me about it. He grew up in a construction family. When he was grown and married, he had a dream of just owning a truck and a skid steer and being his own man/company. So he made it happen.
Thanks for the reply. I learned to run alot of this equipment when I got the odd job here and there from people not showing up for work. I'm thinking about buying a skid steer of my own and doing more work i'm also thinking about getting an excavator but not sure if I want to dedicate the money into it just yet. This was an awesome video thanks for sharing :)
You're welcome. If there's a local demand, I know it can be done. There are several guys in this area who have made a living out of it. The two three that come to mind immediately are backhoe and skid-steer operators.
@@SouthwestORV I live in southern California and would love to learn how to operate equipment like this skid steer and excavator. Do I have to go to school for that?
So many salty people in the comments lol. The dude is definitely a smooth operator. A little but of a show off lol but IT IS a video on RUclips, so he's gotta show his a game. Also nothing wrong with what he's doing. People are commenting how he wasn't working efficiently. Hahaha maybe not to the blistering pace of a RUclips commenter, but to the average person on a job site or in a shop I think he's doing alright.

If it wasn't for people like you who have nothing going on in their world then the rest of us wouldn't make it without you losers. hahahaha
This guy is such a good operator that he will make the service life of a skid steer go from 5000hrs to 1000.. SMH, the machines pay your bills.. use them as intended...
It's his machine, owner/operator. He has been running machinery most of his life. He says that operating the way his does is actually not as hard on the machine because most of the destructive forces come from people operating roughly, and skidding the machine around. Running on two wheels eliminates all of the skid forces and wear/tear.
Southwest ORV I have about 5000 hours of Skid-steer time myself, and I totally agree. I always said the reason they put 4 wheels on a skid steer is so you have a choice which 2 you want to run on.
As an inspector, we would reject YOU. The practice of applying "tack" is debated amongst professionals for simple asphalt joints where hot mix is being placed on prepped base, jointing existing asphalt. We use tack coat for many applications, but this is not one of them. Our patches have held up for 10+ years without issues.
Pretty good skid operator. I remember the days when I could have fun on my skid and do cool stuff like load it the back of dump trucks etc. Now we have a big contract and everything is safety oriented. Hard had, vest, eyewear at all times. So the only time i can mess around is at the shop.
Shawn Jarman agreed I was in a so field and saw this ancient ole black dude do some crazy shit my mind was blown away I thought I was seeing g things it asked how did you do that he said it's a extension of his body and have been operating for over 40plus years.
The key word you used is experience. I have none, have never sat in one. If you can operate one as good as this guy did, congratulations. I was just commenting that people can make it look so easy and the reason is "experience".
I guess...it's perspective then, and in that case I agree with you. I see professional athletes do amazing things, but like you say, they are not truly amazing in a sense because anyone with experience can do it.
Some people just know how to handle equipment. I never got that good but I could handle a bobcat and get the job done efficiently. Still amazes me what some people can do though.
If you watch the video again, you'll see in the video that I mentioned the diesel bottle ran out at the hot plant, and there was no other diesel on hand. Gotta get the job done.

why dont you shut your pie hole. the cheap POS skid steer will be fine. but if he does break something he can buy a bobcat. best out there. but still u have no right to talk like that about someone trying to make some extra money.
It's good until the drive belt breaks, then you are really having fun, I was trying to get up a flatbed and the belt broke just as I was climbing up. Boy did I have a hard time getting out of that mess.
Hopefully it never does. I think he's awesomely talented in a skid steer and hope he can continue his stunts for decades. I know how much excitement people can get, especially kids from watching skid steer stunts. I have showed off many times but never had the nerve to climb up higher than a flatbed truck. Plus being my own mechanic I am reluctant to stay up so long that I will starve the engine of oil or have the hydraulic fluid cavitate and damage pumps or motors.

Yes he does. I know what you mean.
You can always tell when someone’s been operating a machine for a long time because they know how to do the strangest shit you’d never think of lol.
That's true!
Indeed your friend has skills! Fun to watch.
Thanks.
Really appreciate the talent this fellow has.
Me too, believe me.
Probably the most versatile piece of equipment ever invented.
From my experience, I would say this, and the mini-excavator.
Agree
I love the look on non operators faces when they see something special!
Right? Especially the stuff this guy can do.
At the end of the day this guy does his job, and does it well! Excellent video!
Thanks, Mike. I agree - he does his job well.
I used to love being the bobcat guy on the job. It was fun.
Yep, especially if you're good.
I could watch a good operator all day long. its fascinating how they are one with their machine!
I couldn’t agree more.
Same here! They use their machines like an extension of their bodies
Great operator. Very smooth and confident on those controls

Oh yes, and he works miracles with that little machine.

Hatch Industries.

promote to what? a bigger skid steer? this guy is in his element.
They will never promote him; they will just say "he is too good at his job"
