Was having a conversation about music with a stranger on a cruise ship when our mutual love of this song somehow materialized. It's been nearly a week and I still can't get the song out of my head. It's just an amazing lyrical and musical song!
@@BlakeH..888_ There was a homeless man that lived under Jakob’s apartment. He would listen to this man play guitar everyday then one day the music stopped and the man was gone but his belongings were still there. Slowly his belongings were taken and he realized that the man must have died.Jakob said it was the first song he ever wrote. That’s it in a nutshell!
@@BlakeH..888_ My pleasure! Every song’s origin starts with a life experience like this one and with the help of Google we can now learn about how a song came to be. Knowing this gives a song a whole new meaning for the listener and gives you a tiny glimpse into the songwriters life. The power of music (lyrics) is there through the good, helps us through the rough times and is the one thing that unites us all!
Fifty years he stood where he stands- in fifty years they had 10 Presidential elections, with Republican in Democrats out Democrats in Republican out...but none actually solved the homelessness problem
And I can't stand his dad's music.. however I give his dad a nod for creating the song Lay Lady Lay, of which was astronomically bettered by the creative brain of Al Jourgensen and whoever of Ministry. lol.. Sorry Bobby..
I'm not a fan of Bob Dylan either. Although once, I tried doing a lyric video for "Like a rolling stone" and RUclips blocked it worldwide. Bummer. Because I do like that song. I couldn't decide whether to do this song or "One Headlight", so I decided to do both. I put this one out first though. With the other, every other single lyric video on here for that song have the lyrics wrong. I mean, I guess I can kinda understand that. Jakob does mumble a lot, lol.
Jenn Blue , that was funny. Should have had himself referred to as "mumbles" like some 1930s gang banger. To add, how embarrassing when one posts a lyric video with the lyrics wrong.. I want to hide their face in my hands..
@@Blake4625kHz Lol, "Mumbles", good one. He does though. He mumbles. Especially when he's singing live. And yea, it would be embarrassing to put a video out with the wrong lyrics, misspellings, and bad timing. I almost didn't put out the lyric video for "Take A Picture" because there's a part in that song that just didn't sit well with me. Probably because he mumbles too, lol. But after sitting through countless live versions and slowing the song down, I decided that I had the lyrics right and decided to put it out.
This song popped into my head out of nowhere today after not hearing it for 15 years and I'm so glad it did. ❤

Six avenue heartache. This song is a powerful reminder of our vulnerability. To say the least.

Am I like the only millennial out there who is just now realizing that this song has verses? What a good story it tells!
Misheard lyrics, I though it was- the same white light that was drawn on you
