    Rather than fumbling about trying to attach it to the bicep the way you did it, how about looping both ends of the strap through, making the opening of the strap just big enough for your arm, then placing your hand through and taking it up to your bicep - much easier 😀

      Hahahaha you are 100% correct! I was really trying to show how to strap it for the first time. What do you think of the product?

    As a qualified doctor and a basketball player I’ll be honest, this has been extremely useful for my tendonitis; granted I can understand the issue with a non malleable solid surface. Once they make a meshable surface that can bend, it’ll be optimal. However for someone like me that only use these for the knee joints post basketball/ weight training for the legs it’s extremely useful.
    Agree for RA patients a flexible surface would do wonders!

      A meshable surface with this tech would be amazing. Ive been forcing myself to use it as of late... I'm really surprised how good the contrast therapy works. hot to cold in under 20 secs

    The fact that this a hard surface that doesn't mold to your body makes it hard to spend $200 (CAD$) on...do you know of any alternative solution for a contrast (hot/cold) therapy device for multipurpose (feet/ankle/hands) treatment? I have rheumatoid arthritis and I think something like this would help but need it to be able to wrap around body parts.

    • @TheHealthyYinzer
      @TheHealthyYinzer  8 месяцев назад

      Yeah, Im with you on that. The fact that it is a solid surface makes it limited on where it can go. I had a shoulder thing going on and tried to use it but i couldnt get it into a position where it would work properly. I have went back to a heating pad and ice. Keep in mind the whole Rest, Ice, Compression, elevation thing was taken out of context. Do you do any aquatic therapy or low impact cardio?

    • @TDotPMak
      @TDotPMak 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@TheHealthyYinzer low impact cardio/aquatic therapy....no unfortunately I don't and that's on me, I need to get more active to strengthen my surrounding muscles when a flare happens. I guess I was looking for instances where I'm reactivate and need to tend to the symptoms. I do currently use ice packs and heating pad, just a little inconvenient (as you would know) when the ice is too cold so yo ucan only apply for a short period and then yo uwant to switch to hot and then the ice pack loses too much coolness...so forth and so forth... But I hear you, new year, I need to "get moving". Just dealing with some knee foot issue as we speak and that's how I ended up on your video.

      You have the right mentality! I know a client who was in a similar situation with her SI joint and the surrounding area. It's all about taking things one step at a time and seeing what the body can handle and what triggers it. electrotherapy, aquatic exercises, and PHA (peripheral heart action) can all help remodel the bones and strengthen the joints and ligaments. Whats going on with knee and foot?

    Thanks for doing this video. It was really helpful to see how to do the strap and get it set up. I just opened mine and was not too happy about the Lilliputians sized instruction manual. Really didn’t feel like reading that so you save me some time. Thanks.

      There you go! I just realized if you press both buttons together it does an automatic contrast cycle... maybe i should've read the instructions haha

    On the retail site it claims to have a contrast setting where it can alternate from hot to cold. Is there a setting for contrast or is it up to the user to change the settings from hot to cold.

    • @TheHealthyYinzer
      @TheHealthyYinzer  Год назад +1

      At first I thought it was up to the user but as I started playing around with it. If you start the device by pressing both buttons it turns on the auto contrast mode. I think it was 3 cycles of 10 minutes. Hot for 10 cold for 10 3x before it shut off

  • @cknight4281
    @cknight4281 Год назад +1

    Does the cold feel comparable to an ice pack? How warm does it get?

    • @TheHealthyYinzer
      @TheHealthyYinzer  Год назад +2

      That's a great question! The device stays cold throughout the entire session, and the heat feels warm, similar to the setting on a heating pad. With an icepack, you have to worry about it melting and thus the temp change. With this device, you have 3 options to choose from and it stays that temp the whole session. I have found that skin contact works best, but I am not sure if that is recommended.

    Works great for me, I hate that there isn’t app integration yet. Lends itself well to be able to control it while it’s on your back. I’ve got to,pop this puppy open see if the hardware is even capable.

      I read 46 degrees which raised red flags for me because I know An ice bath is less degrees than that. So my question is , the coldness is it cold enough for the one isolated spot ?

    • @TheHealthyYinzer
      @TheHealthyYinzer  Год назад

      @@Al24Fit Definitely! I had a pain in my back yesterday and I decided to bust out the old ice pack to compare. (I probably should’ve made a video) but what I did find is that for first 5 minutes the ice pack was wayyy colder. After that the cube took over because it stays the same temperature the whole time. I think both have pros and cons. What I do like about the cube is the contrast mode. Heat and cold therapy in 3 cycles I think

      Go Pens! Does get cold fast on 3rd level and same with heat. Just based on very short usage time. Would have liked if it was flexible so it could partially wrap around let’s say your elbow or ankle (or any bony part). Not sure if the pad distributes evenly but this is just based on like 2 minute test drive.

    • @TheHealthyYinzer
      @TheHealthyYinzer  Год назад

      @@LuvMetric Go Pens! Yeah i agree! I think if it’s trying to be an ice pack replacer- it needs to have the flexibility. Great for aches and pain but what if I roll my ankle throwing a kick?
