Hey just a quick update, when making this video I completely forgot about the changes to Maelstrom staff in update 35. It does NOT buff light attacks. HOWEVER that being said is still the best choice for this build. 🙂
This is perfect man! Just started my first night blade a few days ago to join some friends on their first play through. Loving it and will definitely end with something very similar to this
Xbox 3k crowns, I've been maining night blade since the game came out and it's constantly changing so im glad someone is paying attention and making builds based off the changes! Thanks man
I am bad on a Nightblade but I do enjoy watching other players play them. Great job on the build! I might try this out soon. 1 month of ESO plus if I win :)
I find myself always switching back & forth between nightblade & templar...this might make me switch to a nightblade again! Thanks for the video! PC NA High Isle
Hello Nice guide, very useful tips. I was just wondering if it's not better to go for dual wield in front bar for the passives and using deadly cloak instead of mirage ?
@Elephantoine for me its definitely between dual wield & inferno. Im definitely a meta chaser and so i tend to end up of dual wield when i know my tanks or fights. But if i want to relax I use an inferno. The difference is minimal between the 2.
Good video, thank you! Just one question about the major expedition from path in combination with concealed weapon. As long as I stay in the path I don't lose the buff because it's up the whole time, so as the tooltip says I'd get the 10% buff as path runs out not while I stand inside the path. Am I misunderstanding something or is the tooltip just bad written?
Great question. So you get the 10% damage when major expedition runs out, what happens is when we stand in Path it keeps reapplying expidition which is effectively taking it off and reapplying the expidition which in turn keeps reapplying that 10% damage buff
well I'm a noob who's been playing for only 2 months but not very regularly. Only chose these class because I enjoyed dual wielding rogues in other games and I liked the idea it is mixed with magic here and that you can have various hybrid classes. when I got more into the game I got totally overwhelmed realizing all the potential builds and possibilities of this class, just like me to chose one of most complicated ones for the start. but so much fun to play :) thanx for this video very helpful :) and THANX for the tip on "ghastly eye bowl" just what I needed!!!
I was thinking on creating a nightblade for some time now, but wasn't sure what to build. Now I know what I'm going for, thanks! PCEU 1 Month of ESO Plus
The Nightblade class is one of my favorites to play. I may need to set up this build. It looks to be the simplest build I've seen and the rotation looks pretty easy as well. It should be a lot of fun to play. PCNA 3K Crowns
Would it be possible to ask for a Nightblade tank w/ sword and shield or dual wield/bow? Everyone keeps saying they can't keep up, but your builds have worked out amazing so far, and I'd love to see if you can make a nb tank that can keep up with the best :3
Hey great content! Been watching you on twitch for past few streams and love the content. I’ve been waiting for a steam sale to get this game but honestly watching your game play is killing me…. So I’ll probably buy the game later today since I can’t wait anymore. Keep up the great work and see you again over on twitch!
Thank you so much! This is exactly what I've been needing as freshly returned player, and the video was the perfect blend of depth and brevity. Subbed! Edit: oh yeah, I forgot to ask if you have a recommendation for gear in the earlier game since I'm starting on a fresh account and it will be a minute before I get to veteran content again? PC 3k crowns
Wow thank you so much! Sure thing, the easiest gear to get your hands on early is 100% Order's Wrath, its a craftable set out of High Isle. It only requires 3 traits so its super easy to craft, OR you could even buy it. Im happy to craft you a set if you'd like just stop by the stream. I start stream 8pm EST Wed-Sat. Mixed with that, Hexos ward is in overland set so that can also just be picked up from chests, or killing delve and world bosses. 😀 I hope this helps any more questions please feel free to ask.
I dont really like siphon attack! I put a mage guild skill on both bar (entropy for healing, and fire rune+shooting ult) but the fire rune will be swap if i need a solo target if the boss moves to much. Also, i want to know what do you think about lotus fan, i front bar it for the extra mobility witch is is to safly apply my trap in close range. It feels underated to me since its a solo target dot with aoe damage+ the extra crit chance
I think you can absolutely use it, the choice is yours really. Its about you and how you like to play. If I was to swap anything I'd swap blur/mirage for Sap Essence. A very nice AOE and great heal. With some great utility aswell. Like I said its your choice just gotta do what suits you. 😀
I'm kinda struggling with the sustain on here I think I need to use orders wrath over pillars as not all my Pillars of nirn had divines on it if I craft orders wrath should it be medium or light? Also I only have 18k health I do need some help on this haha also I'm a vampire Idk if that is bad for me as I wanted to be one.
So being Vamp will hurt the sustain but very minorly. I would personally go light or 5 light 2 medium. This will help increase sustain as well. If your using order's though I'd try get hexo's on the jewels if you can. This will give you more sustain with the light on the body. 🙂
I have never made a nightblade, but this has inspired me to start one- very easy to follow, thank you! If I win I would like High Isle for PC. Thanks so much for the chance!
If I could change one thing for VMA I'd drop shade (as it would just be running around the whole time not really doing anything) and replace it with caltrops.
I'm defiantly going to try this build out. Unfortunately, my nightblade is a redgaurd race, but looking for something to daily dungeons with him. I struggle with the stam builds for nightblade, but this build looks awesome and super easy. Thanks man!! Great build. Oh, I play on EU PC and choice of price would be the crowns.
My pleasure, I mean you can run a redguard if you like, You might see a lil less damage, or struggle for resources from time to time. But its up to you. I say run whatever is the most fun to you. 🙂
@@RyanIsIffy It's mostly because I have the Redgaurd Nightblade that I'm not playing with because I struggle with weaving on him to keep resources up. It's mainly because of the main spam ability that is meta now. So he is mainly my crafter and gather now.

Sustain in the gameplay sections looks like it relies heavily on heavy attacking when soloing. Only an extra ~450 recovery from your food with almost no cost reduction from only rocking two pieces of light armor seems really rough. I suspect you would get better damage out of swapping out pillar of nirn for a crafted order’s wrath in light armor for sustain and penetration (as well as a big boost in crit chance). You could also slot ele drain instead, giving you major breach and a bit more sustain, both of which will make your resources go a little further before running out. It really is worth it to not run out of magicka during the fight. Heavy attacks are usually a big loss in damage, and running out of resources is the easiest way to die
@@RyanIsIffy Yea,I feel like you may just be really comfortable sitting on the very edge of sustain. I did forget about the nightblade passive for getting mag and stam back for getting kills, though and didnt catch that part the first time through. How do you find running this without mythics? Magblade was my main for years but got overtaken by magplar.. with sweeps change looking to get back into magblade again! Great build
I really enjoyed it without. Mythics can be amazing in the right situations, but having to swap mythics depending on content was a huge inspiration for my solo builds 🙂
I just switched to PC and decided to main a Magicka Nightblade this time, glad I found this video! If I win, I'd love to have High Isle for PC thank you!
I was wondering if this build could be used with dual wield on main hands and what would be the optimal pick for them. Still I enjoyed the video and learned alot thnx for the vid
Yes for sure, Dual wield is always preferred wherever you can. Optimal pick? like traits? I'd go main Nirnhoned with poison enchant and off hand would be charged with flame enchant.
How's your dps output with your solo setup with this build? I'm asking bc I have a heavy attack build rn and although it's really viable to solo vet content it's too boring, your build seens to be way more fun.
the first time i tested i went through VMA flawless and was nuking all bosses. Same in VVH. When this build is played to its potential its nutty damage. If you have any questions please feel free to ask 🙂
Definitely gonna try it on my breton nightblade, thanks for the build! Also if I win, I would like the High Isle chapter please PC EU. Good luck everybody!
there is one on my to do list. The character is already done, Just got a couple to get out first. Hes called "The Dead Samarai" Im so excited for this build. 😀
Honestly I think Order's Wrath could be really good, its craftable with 3 traits. Their are alot of options really but I'd start there. Hope this helps.
@@Pugerino Pillar's AOE is only 2 meters so its considered more of a single target damage. BUT if i was thinking AOE my brain would auto go to aegis caller. that set is really fun, however I'd drop hexos ward and replace it with something like order's wrath, gourmands something like that to balance it out. I'll be editing this build as necrom hits week 5 of pts so shouldn't be too long. then there will be a more up to date version.
It can still work, BUT that said, I am currently writing the script for an updated version of this build as I type this. The updated version will be out by next week and the written guide will be out by this weekend. :)

Thanks, I agree. You will ALWAYS do more damage with daggers but not because crit chance. Daggers crit chance is less then 1% with this setup. I tested this because i was curious. The damage from daggers comes from different modifiers. Like we can run nirnhoned and run 2 enchantments. On a staff we are forced to run precise to keep the crit chance up. This means that HW wont proc more often (well if it does its a less then 1% chance more) because its based of critical damage.(which you should always have rolling from dots and weaving) However with daggers you will see increased damage but through other modifiers. Personally I run daggers for hard content. But for this and all my solo builds I really wanted to keep them to the mag/stam theme. In this case I went with staves. I find staves to be a little more friendly on learning to weave aswell and also allowing you to still do everything from range (like proc the bow). If you use this right, you shouldnt need better healing, As you should be topped off at all times however you can alway get better damage but thats only going to come from leaning into meta. So yes I agree but the reasons are a little different. Yes you will get more from daggers. Its meta. It wont proc HW more often. And weaving needs to be on point for both on a nightblade because everything relies on it. Thank you so much 🙂
@@RyanIsIffy Thanks for the reply ! I get what you're saying, I'll look into it. And I totally agree with you, staff is a better feeling than a mage with two daggers. Also : distance, helps a lot in the middle of a mechanic. I'll always prefer a good theme build, something really fun to play over a complicated min-maxed meta build which isn't fun or interesting. Great video, keep it up !
@@CharlesDero Thank you so much, I appreciate the kind words. Yeah Im now a play how you want guy haha, I did my days chasing meta, And while I still might for certain situations. In most content though I can hardly get a rotation off in a meta setup. Also switching gear setups from trash to bosses in dungeons just got way to sweaty way to quickly for me 😄 Ill always try keep my themes versatile though, thats one of the things I love in this current meta its a "If you wanna run daggers you can, just slot it" Im loving it atm. 🙂
Honestly almost ALL. here is a copy paste from someone else who asked. ahh no worries well all the passives from the 3 nightblade skill lines are a must have. They are fantastic. Next if your using inferno staves I highly suggest taking all passives. aslong as you are not using a ice staff or that can change. Other's that help it is the undaunted passives, fighter's guild passives, Psijic passive called "concentrated barrier" if you decide to use any mages guild those are good too. Always light and medium armour passives VERY IMPORTANT Medicinal use in the alchemy tree Honestly a good rule of thumb is if you are using the skill line in anyway via gear skills or anything like that then take all the passives if you can afford the skill points. Theres alot to them, I'm very sorry I didn't include this part in my video it was early in my learning process. later vids have them now but I will be sure to include it in the updated night blade video. I hope you enjoy the build. If you have any more questions please don't hesitate to ask. I'm actually live 24/7 atm on twitch and have been since Jan 1st hence no updated vids in a little bit. feel free to stop by and ask away
PCNA and in order I would want the High Isle Code first choice, ESO plus next, 3K Crowns and then the Torchbug rounding out the final choice if the others are not available, I know how it goes, some codes go real fast.....
Will power can work for sure, however you will only get the effect while on back bar. However it could be good as a *placeholder* to get you through vma. Another good piece could be trainee, the health bonus on the back bar could be a life saver. 🤔

I haven't tried this, and I'm sure it's super survival, but it really lacks penetration badly. It's a trade-off for survival, and you still get the Boost of penetration when you use an ultimate so you can time it for when you really need the damage, but it is definitely beneficial for a solo build to basically automatically survive while still doing enough damage to meet DPS checks. Also that changed concealed weapon and the fact that it counts when you reapply a new source of major Expedition is Mega disgusting!

The Pants are the Silken Ring Greaves.
Hope this helps 😀
How do you find running this without mythics?
Magblade was my main for years but got overtaken by magplar.. with sweeps change looking to get back into magblade again! Great build
I really enjoyed it without. Mythics can be amazing in the right situations, but having to swap mythics depending on content was a huge inspiration for my solo builds 🙂
hi, what if i use maelstorm staff instead, another nirn?
You can absolutely do that! It would def benefit you. I believe I have it listed that way. It def is in the written guide.😀
I just switched to PC and decided to main a Magicka Nightblade this time, glad I found this video! If I win, I'd love to have High Isle for PC thank you!
Welcome to PC! 🙂
Thanks for another great video, Iffy!!! Highly valuable 😊
I'm on PS NA, crowns would help me the most 💜🖤💜
I was wondering if this build could be used with dual wield on main hands and what would be the optimal pick for them. Still I enjoyed the video and learned alot thnx for the vid
Yes for sure, Dual wield is always preferred wherever you can. Optimal pick? like traits? I'd go main Nirnhoned with poison enchant and off hand would be charged with flame enchant.
I've been meaning to get into magicka NB this has surely helped :)
MagicAndrej PCEU 3k Crowns
This build looks nuts! 3k crowns on PC NA if I win. Cheers Iffy!
My pleasure!
Very well put together guide, Thanks!
PC NA, 3k Crowns
Thank you so much! 🙏
I’m on PlayStation, would like a copy of High Isle. Really looking forward to playing my Nightblade again Thanks for the awesome build!!
I love nightblades! Good video…very informative and easy to follow.
PC NA 3k crowns
Thank you I've been needing a good nightshade build. Mines been collecting dust lol
Is definitely want a free month of ESO plus for PC/NA
Thanks, I hope you enjoy! 🙂
I'm on PC NA and would love the crowns. Thank you so much!
Definitely gonna try it on my breton nightblade, thanks for the build!
Also if I win, I would like the High Isle chapter please PC EU. Good luck everybody!
Breton will be a great choice for it, and definitely fit in this years chapter being all about Bretons! 👍
Hello, great job i will try this build for sure, PC NA 3k crowns
thank you so much 🙏
Cool looking build, hope to try it soon
PC NA 3k crowns
Could u show stat sheet?
Would there be a full vampire build?
PCNA High Isle
there is one on my to do list. The character is already done, Just got a couple to get out first. Hes called "The Dead Samarai" Im so excited for this build. 😀
If you don’t have the dlc for pillar what’s another good sub?
Honestly I think Order's Wrath could be really good, its craftable with 3 traits. Their are alot of options really but I'd start there. Hope this helps.
@@RyanIsIffy any other sets that can do the aoe effect pillars does?
@@Pugerino Pillar's AOE is only 2 meters so its considered more of a single target damage. BUT if i was thinking AOE my brain would auto go to aegis caller. that set is really fun, however I'd drop hexos ward and replace it with something like order's wrath, gourmands something like that to balance it out.
I'll be editing this build as necrom hits week 5 of pts so shouldn't be too long. then there will be a more up to date version.
How practical is this build today, Ryan? Thank you!
It can still work, BUT that said, I am currently writing the script for an updated version of this build as I type this. The updated version will be out by next week and the written guide will be out by this weekend. :)
@@RyanIsIffyok I’ll keep an eye out for it. Haven’t seen a write up yet. Thanks!
@@mayorez70 Just did it today! 🙂

@@RyanIsIffywhat are the combined scripts for Soulburst?
@@mayorez70 oh good eye! I forgot to put that in. It’s physical, lingering torment and intellect and endurance. 🙂
I'll have to start playing my nightblade again.

does anyone know what motifs for his nightblade cause he looks sick
Hey there, oh gosh it’s been so long but I might be able to dig it up for you.
@@RyanIsIffy Was wondering the same, which ones are they I wanna make my nightblade look cool aswell
Great ! Just a little note, I get better dps and healing with daggers. Also it procs HW more often. But you have to get real good at weaving
Thank you so much
🙂
Also switching gear setups from trash to bosses in dungeons just got way to sweaty way to quickly for me 😄
Ill always try keep my themes versatile though, thats one of the things I love in this current meta its a "If you wanna run daggers you can, just slot it"
Im loving it atm. 🙂
I'm going to try this build. 3K crowns PC EU
What passive skills should be used?
Honestly almost ALL. here is a copy paste from someone else who asked.
ahh no worries well all the passives from the 3 nightblade skill lines are a must have. They are fantastic.
Next if your using inferno staves I highly suggest taking all passives. aslong as you are not using a ice staff or that can change.
Other's that help it is the undaunted passives, fighter's guild passives,
Psijic passive called "concentrated barrier"
if you decide to use any mages guild those are good too.
Always light and medium armour passives
VERY IMPORTANT
Medicinal use in the alchemy tree
Honestly a good rule of thumb is if you are using the skill line in anyway via gear skills or anything like that then take all the passives if you can afford the skill points.

Is there a sub set for Nirn until I can get it?
Order's Wrath :) Sorry for the late reply.
Another great job by Iffy!! Love it!!
Thank you so much 🙏
Back bar alternative for Maelstrom.... willpower?
Will power can work for sure, however you will only get the effect while on back bar. However it could be good as a *placeholder* to get you through vma. Another good piece could be trainee, the health bonus on the back bar could be a life saver. 🤔
Fantastic gameplay! This build is crazy!!

You could but it will do less damage and be much harder to keep good uptimes. 🙂
I will give this build a try for sure. PC-NA - 3k Crowns
Nice build, PC NA 3k. I abuse dark vigor to get some crazy HP on a NB tank.
Nice build man. I am perfecting my mag NB on PC EU. I would love to try Oakensoul ring, but I lack High Isle chapter. Therefore, that's the thing I would love to get.
Thank you! 🙏 The oakensoul is a great mythic!

Do you have any mag dk build like this ?
Mag dk is in the works, got a couple infront of it though. Shouldnt be too long 🙂
@@RyanIsIffy ty
I haven't tried this, and I'm sure it's super survival, but it really lacks penetration badly. It's a trade-off for survival, and you still get the Boost of penetration when you use an ultimate so you can time it for when you really need the damage, but it is definitely beneficial for a solo build to basically automatically survive while still doing enough damage to meet DPS checks. Also that changed concealed weapon and the fact that it counts when you reapply a new source of major Expedition is Mega disgusting!
It clears any and all dps checks for solo content, when you use the build right the pen sky rockets. 🙂
Your demage 60 and rele queen better? I think
Damage is much higher then 60, and yes rele is better for single target. Rele is a trial set. This build is for no trial sets. 🙂
I play on PC NA. Dunmer Necro. 3k Crowns
PC/NA, High Isle would be dope
It's good but still missing something on magicka... Elements magic skills ?! Teso don't have too much but it's still grinding
almost every skill does exclusively magic damage. 🙂
looking to come back to eso on pc after watching this. so copy of high isle. great vid btw.
Aww thats awesome! Thank you 🙏
Great build! My nb is a wood elf but these days race should not matter too much I guess. Also i wouldn't mind winning the High Isle chapter 😉
Woodelf will be fine! You might suffer a little bit but will clear solo content very easily.
3000 crowns for pc eu will be perfect, magblade is my main to deliver Justice from JusticeSouldier!
Love this build!
