  • This summer is HOT! And even on economy mode, many hot tubs will still be too hot to get in. So today we're experimenting to see if 10 bags of ice will cool down a hot tub enough to get in!

Why not just rest the bags inside the hot tub so the water doesn't get in and alter the chemistry? Then you could refreeze them and reuse them granted you got the room in your freezer

My uncle lives in Cyprus and he freezes 2ltr pop bottles filled with water. Then just drops the bottles into the pool. Easy to reuse.

I keep my hot tub at 106 and love it! But I only stay in 20 minutes max usually. It is about 90 degrees outside here in GA. I am curious because I just bought an ice bath tub how would you keep that water clean in a ice bath if it doesn't have a filter? I threw an extra bromine floater in it with a couple of bromine pellets? Any ideas or is it just best to refill every week?

I can set my HotTub all the down to 59 degrees. With the cover on it will still go up to 108 degrees it's also sitting on a covered patio. I live in Central Texas also. I am starting to leave the cover off for awhile and does get a little cooler I believe the cover just adds to the over heating issue . Iam going to try the ice though.

When the temperatures get that hot in Summer you all should have a roof cover or pergola. Surely the sun will eventually destroy the sides and the cover on the hot tub. I am not willing to risk it and with the shade I have over mine means I can use it throughout the day.
