Yeah, and I feel bad that it just struck me today. It's said Epel has been bullied all of his life, because he looked like a good target cuz of his height and looks. So probably those bullies used his "cute-ness" as a derogatory term that he beat the sh- out of them. And because of that it's like him resorting to throwing hands is like his coping mechanism, because he thinks that people wouldn't take him seriously because of his looks and thinks that if he just keeps it up, he'll survive. And so that's why he breaks down in Chapter 5. And challenged Vil to a fight on the first day. Because he thinks that he has to be strong and tough in this world so people wouldn't underestimate him for his looks. 😭😭😭
@@yuri-sama.questionmark and his toxic masculinity too. I hope he didn't mean it in a sexist way but when someone call him cute, he would straight go to say they're calling him a girl, like it's a bad thing. Like in chapter 5 in a flashback, when Vil called him cute then Epel accused Vil of calling him a girl and told Vil that he looked like a girl. I didn't see the ENG translation yet but that was what I got from the JP.
@@lovebuns3373 yeah I agree. It's kind of that bad 😭😭 I'm sorry but I think Epel deserves his meemaw to whack some sense into him for those comments sometimes. But thankfully because of Vil, he learned that it isn't the case. That he can be cute while still being strong. His arc is like learning about the nuances in life after all, like how one can be cute or feminine while still being strong. (Yuurei also highlights this in Epel videos) And it's also evident with how he doesn't complain about his Signature Spell, Sleep Kiss/Crimson Slumber being more on the defensive compared to toxic masculinity's more offensive approach to things. Also encapsulates his soul as someone who wants to protect the ones that he loves. That is so cute 😭 (here I am avoiding saying it and eventually gave in and said it)
Spoiler for jp chapter 7: Despite what he might say Epel secretly loves his facial features tho not his physique. As a result of that and his limited imagnjation, Malleus's UM caused him to have his og cute face over a titan's physique 👀🍎
0:32 then what does floyd find cute? Given the ocean is vast and has its fair share of cute (but dangerous) creatures, what is his take on an endearing look? Does he like the sea angels? Pufferfish? Or maybe even starfish?
Not to be disrespectful or anything but can't you guys embrace feminine looking 'boys' and don't call every feminine looking one of them trans? Bc we need more feminine boys representation. They always get called trans in any media and fandom, as a feminine boy and having problems like Epel, this makes me sick sometimes. I'm not attacking u or anyone, just saying.
At this point, Floyd is gifted. He can actually see people’s true nature.
I love Epel so much. I feel sorry for him being constantly called cute to the point he immediately assume you're calling him a girl.

0:47 best part in the whole game 🤣
I still call him adorable tho
I think it's a trans thing . . .

What??😭😭
@@EdalynAnarchy Epel is trans. . . .
What?? It’s just Epel wanting to be seen as manly and masculine rather than feminine and girly. Nothing to do with being trans.
It's simply how I see Epel. There's a lot of traits in him that I can find in myself. That's why I said it's a trans thing.
