- dont upgrade walls before night. - towers are not getting destroyed you should actually chose the walls that has towers on either side. - luring deers is very good especially in winter, your people doesn’t attack animals at night so you lure them inside the town, when the night falls they are all going to turn into coins. - guy with a green hat is banker. you give some money he gives you more later. you can see your money visually in main castle door where you lvl up your town. - barrack in the forrest is for merchant. the guy that comes back with money. you dont have him on every map and if you cut the last tree in front of his barrack you will loose him like you do with little village camps. very fun game to figure out btw

Taking the boat that close to winter is brave!! The shields on the main base are what create the "hench" guys (in game they are called squires). You get two each side and they pair with up to four archers to help you take down portals and deliver the final blow.
I love this game so much I’m very happy you’re playing (even if it’s painful to watch sometimes). I recommend building the arrow towers outside the walls versus building wall right after them. They’re safe and more efficient at protecting your walls

Great game ! Recommendation: give jobs when you need them (it is better to have jobless than lack of people), don't over do it because your minions take the tool/weapon that is closer to them. That is why you have only spears man and not bow man
This is a little like watching a chimp play with that baby toy where you have shaped blocks and have to fit them into the correct holes. The chimp knows generally what it needs to do, but it keeps trying to shove the round peg into the triangle hole, over and over and over. You just want to grab the chimp and shout at it to get a grip, but it's just a chimp, it can't help it.

Love this game! Part of the fun is discovering it as you go- I probably missed a lot of things on my first few playthroughs. I did feel mild pain watching the shield units get hired (Hench dudes) by accident, then sent to their deaths by accident XD Totally understandable though- just bad luck that he didn't see them take the shields off the wall and put up a flag
Ngl, on my own run (I was inspired by Vortide because I legitimately didn't even realize you could travel between islands), I don't know what I'd do if I didn't luck into unlocking the Gamigin and the Vampire monarch because I will use my ability to travel to an area that spawns chickens and use the mount to charge them, giving me free, immediate coins. Some days, I'll start with nothing and get like 6-10 just off stabbing chickens, so it's totally worth, especially when your other workers are grabbing their own source of coins.
This game perfectly embodies my spending habits: "I have all the money, I am king..." "oh no, I have no money..." "I need more money..." ""I have all the money, I am king..." "If I can spend money, I will..." "I need more people in my life..." "Oh no, I have no money..." Hey Matt the people that attack the portals are the shields on your village center you can send troops with them somehow. It should be at the wall furthest out if i remember correctly if you destroy the portal no more enemies can come from them. Keep up the good work i enjoy your content.

The money guy infront of your castle is the bank clerk, you can store coins in your castle and the next day he'll give you your money back, plus some more. But you want to pay in more, than you get back, the more money you have in storage, the highrer the pay back. So if you pay in all the money you are now throwing in the river and don't let him pay you back for some days you can get like one bag of money per day for free. (You can see how full it is when looking at the door, the gold will be visible after storing some) And the thing by the boat is a storage for gems, gems are really rare, so you don't wan't to loose them. Store them at the boat and you can get them back for a coin on all maps.
Ringing the bell near your boat calls your villagers to the boat so you can take some builders and bowmen etc with you, if you don't ring the bell you don't bring anyone with you... I found that out the hard way and it was awful lol
If you're taking advice from the comments - and fair play if you're not - then more archers Mr RCE, please! The knights ('hench') can have a squad of up to 4 archers each - if you have enough archers to join them in the first place. Those shields/banners on your castle were creating the knights ('hench'). Guy picks up a shield, becomes a knight, and attracts some archers to follow them.
If I were to give you a hint without telling you anything, I would say to pay attention to the things you put money into so that you can learn what everything does.
Matt a couple of tips. Hire new people all the time. Also get more archers, i know u like the builders but archers are needed for defence. Other tio is to let ur stag eat grass qhen he needs it so he can run faster for longer before getting tired
The spearmen are new to me, the gems and a bunch of other stuff too, but My God, man, You build the castle, then supply knights, thats what the shields are. you then send the knights to break the portals to secure the part of the kingdom

For the life of me i dont know why people make videos on games without playing them first... Im not sure how a game could be so simple and complex at the same time... I almost got the 4th crown on cursed difficulty playing the plague challenge. After 15 days in the winter i learned how important it is to save coins with the squire... winter is crazy especially once you watch 90% of your work force turn into zombies and bums in a matter of seconds after hours of gameplay. This game gets a 5/5

And I think it's dirt cheap during sales (conveniently there will be one on steam any day now) Also Matt hasn't even scratched the surface yet. Or he might have, but if you don't know the game, you couldn't have noticed. He certainly didn't. But that's part of the game, it really evolves the more you play it, just because how little it explaines.
Yes, there is a lot more gameplay beyond what Matt has done. In the later stages of the game, you can't play like Matt is here as the game does get challenging at times but there's a learning curve so he will figure it out.
Ok I love this game, but you really need to exit this version, start a new game, and go over to the Norse Lands and start there. It’s beautiful! The backgrounds, the lighting and northern lights, the music, it’s fantastic!
not related but iv been watching your channel for a good while now and was wanting to recommend a game called stormworks build and rescue. its a lovely game with bridges and boats and planes and possible carnage.
The only complaint I have about this game is that the player's character apparently can't hurt the enemies. The combat needs to be more like Thronefall in that respect; not that the leader should be the best fighter, but they definitely should be competent in battle... just thinking about the Middle Ages and how battlefield morale works. Hopefully the devs are paying attention. 🙂

It's name comes from the fact that it collapsed twice during construction, which unalived 23 people in total (Hence the name, ironworkers memorial).

FFOTD: The last sector of the game that you'd probably complete last is the Planetary Launch Terminal, which is incredibly hard to beat, but after you defeat the sector, the enemy is defeated, you complete the game, don't worry though as your progress doesn't reset, you can continue playing and defeating unnamed sectors as they still have the enemy on them, this sector might have been as an end so that you can launch from it to other planets, for example: Erekir, and thats probably how it would start on that planet.

the bloke in the castle is a banker. you can throw the money in the castle bank and that's how you don't have to drop the money you can't carry

The hench guys are from the shields. They become banners when they pick them up to become hench, and tear when the hench guys go down.

this game is brutal. i played the co-op multiplayer for about hundred hours
the archer towers don't have to be inside the town walls
