Well Cindy, as an English gentleman and tea drinker of 56 years, I use a china tea pot, pre warmed of course, tea leaves (not bags). Boiling water. Brew for 2 to 4 mins depending on taste and pour through fine strainer into thin fine bone china teacup. Add milk and sugar to taste (if you really must).
Thanks for sharing this.i watched many videos about green tea preparation and other things dis video is quite simple.and do i have to add sugar or honey in it???add sugar to me green tea....is that bad
Thanks for sharing this.... I just recently got into drinking tea and heard about steeping but never knew to cover it for 2-3minutes. Gonna try it tonight!
Well, since in the US it's not as common as it is in the UK to drink tea, this is very helpful to those who want to learn how to make tea. Yeesh, ya stuck-up tea drinkers.
Great video!!! I finally know how hot my water is suppose to be for green tea! All those other tips don't work, like they'll tell you green tea need 90 degree water, i don't know how to measure that...
I always preheat my tea cup with hot water first. That allows for the tea to stay hot for a longer time. Then I pour that water away, replacing it with hot water again, and placing the bag into the cup, covering it right after, and allowing it to steep for the appropriate time (each tea type requires a different water temperature, and steeping time. Afterward I keep the cup covered with a special cap until I drink it all 😊🍵
@dancoy09 I know what you're saying, I started drinking tea after my trip to England and the quality of the tea is much better over there even if you buy the same brand "Twinnings". Tea bag tea is nasty here in the States, so I get my tea from the Chinese supermarkets its loose leaf, top quality and inexpensive, they mostly have green tea, but if you look hard enough u find black tea.
1) Use loose tea leaves, not the low-grade tea dust in tea bags. 2) Place the leaves either in a cloth tea bag, or in a Japanese disposable non-woven fabric bag, or *loose, without any bag* into a pre-warmed porcelain, iron, or stoneware tea kettle. 3) Use a Chinese or Japanese tea cup or mug that has a *lid*. 4) Pre-heat the cup and lid with boiling water for one minute, then toss this water out. 5) Put the cloth bag or loose tea into the pre-warmed cup or kettle. Then pour boiled water on.
I love this video, it is amazing. :) You are right 'WhoIsSean's' english know how to make black tea with milk, but moroccens kow how to make green tea to, you should taste there tea, it is one of the best. :)
Bitch Dis wat u do. Put some water in a pot. Boil that shit up. Grab a tea bag put ur tea bag in the cup. Pour ur water in the cup. Pour 1/2 cup of suger in cup. Nd drink that shit fym.
This is the British way of making it: 1) Add 1-2 sugars in a mug (do this first because the boiling water helps dissolve the sugar) with 1/2 teaspoon loose tea, or one teabag (teabag is most British way of making it) 2) Add boiling water 3) Wait 3-5 mins for the tea bag to brew 4) Take out tea bag 5) Add milk. The amount of milk you add will vary upon personal preferences, so experiment with this step 6) Stir and sing the British National Anthem ;)
She is a spokesperson for Bigelow tea, so she is naturally going to show making tea with crappy tea bags. It is a shame that some people will watch this and think that is how you make tea. I'm American and Japanese, so I don't think it has anything to do with the fact that she is American. I think it has everything to do with the fact she is marketing the product more than truly understanding it.
@addiemaureen Lol, if your making southern sweet tea you would be correct. If you want to make good tea, you would never use pre-bagged processed leaves.
I use filtered water from the fridge, so my water is cold and fresh ,so I lucked out on that process.I must not squeeze the tea bag though, she is correct,it makes it taste gross, and you might put unwanted particles in your cup. Thanks for the tip
1. Don't use teabags. Only use loose tea. 2. Store the tea correctly; In an airtight jar for instance. Store it in dark, normal temprature, and do not store near soap, fruit etc. that have any aroma. 3. Use the proper amount of tea. To little will make it tasteless, to much will make it bitter. 3. Always use FRESH COLD water. 4. The water must just be boiling. Underboiled water will make it weak and flavorless, overboiled will make it flat and burnt 5. Let the tea infuse properly
To some Americans tea is a common drink, but for the vast majority of Americans, your tea is our soda - it's part of why we have such an obesity problem.
This is not entirely correct. Boiling it longer is essential if your water is very hard. So even if you're making green or jasmin, you first boil it, then let it cool down to 80 degrees Celsius. This is also how they do it in most Asian nations (to clean the water boiling it is essential).
i really love this vid, cindi is adorable
I'm gonna keep wringing my tea bags until my dead body is in the ground, lady.
Mark Medina lmao 😅😂😂
me too!!! i've started drinking green and white teas and i love it
the tea police came to my house thanks alot

Oh dear Americans making tea..... Proud to be English
I love the background information. This video lends itself well to the ESL classroom.
Thanks for the tips! I learned something today!
i love tea, and this was really helpful !
I have been taught long ago to let the water simmer for 2 minutes before pouring so you don't get any lime scales floating on the tea. It works.
I love a nice cup of hot tea. It's also good for stopping diarrhea. Just use sugar but no milk. Great for relaxing before bedtime.
I've recently gotten into tea this winter too, thanks for the video! The hard part for me is not adding sugar but I'm working on it ;)
I'm sorry but I only trust British people with this.
VANILLA LAVENDER but they didn't create tea
That's pretty stupid. You think the British are the only people in the world who drink tea?
Thank you, on behalf of the British population, we are very flattered!
God bless you
EchoGay Bald Fith. Yes. Yes, we do
Just started drinking tea again, so this vid was very helpful... thanks!!

I believe that only proper cups of tea are made in Yorkshire, England

Using tap water is better than drinking water?
@addiemaureen

I agree! Only us Brit's know how to make a quality cupa' tea! :')

Why does Cindi Bigelow think that there are more "air bubbles" in tap water versus the water left over in a tea kettle?
now, i dont know if its true, but i ve heard it said this way "when the water boils it looses its oxygen and the taste becomes more flat"

@wwfc100 I was hoping to find out how to make a perfect cup of loose leaf tea
I was about to squeeze the tea bag 😂

step 3: drink your damn tea

I just use my coffee maker to heat up the water then place 3 bag in it and then pour it in my cup when ready. I do ask sugar cane sugar or honey.

To some Americans tea is a common drink, but for the vast majority of Americans, your tea is our soda - it's part of why we have such an obesity problem.
Perfect cuppa
Don't use tea bags is probably the first step in making a great cup of tea. Where is your tea sourced from? Do sell any whole leaf?
Beautiful woman making tea ❤️
5:38 "you're now in the sunken place"
you forgot to add 3 spoons of sugar :^)
mmmmmm.. tea
No one does tea like the British. No matter how much I love the yanks the one thing they cannot do is tea. It's an English thing
