Well Thank you! You should defs give it another shot, this game has grown and changed so much since it came out. It may be different then you remember!
how much dyson sphere power did u produce in ur entire star cluster? I was looking at the starmap and saw a guy got total dyson sphere power to 1.4 PW....... I have no fucking idea how his computer hasn't exploded, just curios how high u managed to get yours. Also what are your computer specs? Im wondering If i can do what you have with my computer, would be nice to have a reference point, Thanks! Also like everyone else as said, Beautiful.
Thank you I'm glad you like it! So this was the only sphere I had in this cluster. My whole goal was to build this sphere and I haven't made any others yet. I couldn't even imagine 1.4 PW!! And I have a core i7 with an RTX 3080 and 32GB RAM
@@superfly51 Thank you good Sir! I got a 3080 ti , a 5800x and 32 gb so in theory I should be able to do what you did. We will see, I got a similar sphere building now (Mine doesn’t have the middle open like urs does). Gona leave it on for the next few days.
The 1.4 PW mark was unfortunately semi-cheated because the person used mods to boost the number of stars. The most you can get in vanilla is around 350 TW, which is still an extremely impressive bar to hit. I actually experimented with this in creative mode - if you find a particularly high luminosity O type giant, it's possible to pull over 100 TW from a single star. There are a few tricks to maximise sphere output: 1. Maximize radius - in DSP, every element of a sphere produces the same power regardless of distance from the star, so power production scales with surface area and therefore the square of sphere radius. Different shells of the sphere don't block each others' light, so it helps to build 10 shells of the biggest possible radius. As far as my research can tell, old and heavy stars tend to have the biggest sphere radii. 2. Maximize frames and nodes - frames produce more power than sails, and nodes produce more power than frames. Therefore a node-dense sphere with many frames and small segments would be more powerful than an identical sphere with few nodes and large sail segments. I believe the densest sphere ever built has around 2700 nodes. 3. Look for bright stars - a star's luminosity is a multiplier applied to the base power production of the sphere. Additionally, high luminosity correlates with heavier stars, which allows to build bigger spheres. The unfortunate part is that both points 1 and 2 lag the game immensely. After building the sphere and making all of it invisible, I still got below 20 fps when near its host star. When I tried deleting it, the sheer amount of solar sails spawning at once crashed my game and corrupted the creative world. My specs are similar to yours, so spheres this big are not a good idea unless you don't mind getting single digit FPS and turning your room into a sauna.
@@pocarski LOL, is the first thing im gona say. The other thing is thank you for this detailed response. I am currently doing already ur tips that you mentions (doing all 3 of them). Now with that said the current dyson sphere I am attempting to build and hillariously according to my math its gona take at least 1000 hours of ingame time for it to build (launching about 40K sails per min) about 2.5 billion solar sails and 20 million frames in total. Now keep in mind this is around a blue giant with 2.517 Luminosity after the math is done it comes out to about 225 TW. Now I know this isn't accurate 100% to what it will come out to be but it will be close. (im hoping for about 200TW) here's the other thing I have 3 other star systems in my cluster that have a luminosity of 2.5 or greater. so all in all I think I can get to at least 700TW. well thats the goal but its gona take 4000hrs......................................... so ya im contemplating weather or not I should follow through with it. Already at 5TW on this first system. And btw to help with performance I'm using these mods and HOLY COW DO THEY HELP.
