1978 INTERNATIONAL 3588 2+2 Tractor, aka "Snoopy", aka "Anteater"

Mighty 1978 International Harvester IHC 3588 2+2 with the nickname "Snoopy" or "Anteater" at the 5th International Classic Tractor Meet in Schötz, Switzerland. This International Harvester 3588 is of the IHC 88 Series and is equipped with the water-cooled DT-466B 6-cyl turbo diesel engine. Max. power output is ca. 180 hp out of 7.6 liters of displacement. The International 3588 is 5.8 meters long, close to 3 meters in height and weighs a whopping 7.5 tons. A truly impressive tractor, given the fact that this machine is already 45 years old!

These things sold really well in the US and Canada. Plus, reliability was top-notch, thanks to it having the DT466 engine, a block used in the medium-sized International S Series (1979-88) and International 4000 Series trucks (1989-01, body change in 2002 until the discontinuation of the DT466 engine in 2008, due to EPA regulations)
