You know, Jennifer, I found you years ago through the planner video which you did and even though I don’t make cards I stayed for all the knowledge and inspiration for stamping! I try a lot of your ideas and techniques to decorate my planner! And you could read the phone book to me, I love listening to you! 🤗
Thanks for hosting this. It gives me a chance to tell you that I save your videos to watch while I make tapioca. 😆 My family loves tapioca but it needs to stirred constantly for 20+ minutes. Your videos are perfect edutainment to get me through it. Thank you!! ❤
Cheers for your tapioca family! My mom made it since childhood, and since she passed under a year ago, our family has yet to make it “just like Mom’s” but hard as we may try, it just needs her thumbprint on the top. Such patience, right? A JMcG video is the perfect thing while we stir! Blessings to you.
I was humming and hawing about buying these pencils because I wasn't sure how to use them. Now I know what I can use them for. Thanks so much Jennifer for your inspiration. I will definitely be purchasing this pencils and will stayed tuned to your channel for more ways to use them. 😊
The order of Distress Watercolor Pencils shipped so I finally made myself watch the 2 hour tutorial about them. Mesmerizing! Seemed like 30 minutes. Actually looking forward to the learning curve!
Thanks so much Jennifer McGuire !! I watched the earlier when your video went live but it was all such a blur trying to watch & read to keep up so here I am watching it again. These cards are the products of the "Trifecta" of designers/makers, You, Tim Holtz & Gina K, this was destined to be great and it is. You never disappoint. Sweet dreams, Thanks for staying up for us.
Oops, I almost forgot, Thanks so much to you and Crafty Mike for the swatch downloads, mine are printed off and will be ready and waiting when my pencils arrive.
Your excitement is contagoius! Please know, I'm still giddy from your introduction of Lindy's Magical Powders. And now watercolor pencils. I have sensory overload!
Awesomeness! I love this new set of Gina K, so glad that I scored! Now to your very unique cards, never would have tried to color a stamp like this! You amaze me with the ways you can come up with these wonderful techniques! Thanks Jennifer for this great video!💜🤗
Tim just keeps coming up with more terrific products! I keep hoping he will produce card stock that matches his colors one of these days. These are just beautiful on Gina’s stamps. ❤️
Jennifer, I almost missed out on this stunning set from Gina but after she pointed out on FB that the stamps weren't sold out yet, I went to You Tube for inspiration (on just the stamps)... after all, did I realllllly need another snowflake set - without matching dies besides?! And then I saw the pic of your video!!! JUST the pic. Let me tell you, that is the fastest I have EVER completed a SSS purchase. Not only are Gina's gorgeous stamps on their way to my house, but so are all the new TH watercolor pencils (possibly some other SSS & fall goodies as well). All thanks to you. And I still haven't finished watching the video. I saw what I needed and wasn't missing out again. On a different note, thank you for all that you do for this industry. And for sharing your truth. Card making saved me during a very dark time so I understand how therapeutic it is. I'm thrilled to see the industry thriving again. I truly believe people like you, Gina, Kristina, Tim, Heidi & SSS, and all the companies/people that work together like this are responsible for its continued popularity. Kudos to you and that wonderful group of people. You are appreciated.
Wowsers Jennifer, these cards are phenomenal! This technique is wonderful & it’s great that you give us other options to use for the same technique. Sending blessings & hugs!!!❤
I have finished Tim's video yet but this is EXACTLY what I've always wanted! I love the familiar colors, and now I can bring lots of colors and stamps when I travel or go to planner meets. This is perfect for me! Mahalogozaimasu!
Beautiful cards! Thank you for teaching us so much and inspiring us through all you do. I hope you'll continue to do the premiers where you chat with us. Though after Stamptember I hope they'll be earlier. Thanks again!!!
Enjoy your videos and techniques. I use die cuts and materials from elsewhere though, as I personally I find the name brands you recommend are way too expensive for my budget. But in the end the techniques and fun is what it's all about - not paying for over priced dies, paints, pencils, papers, etc. Thank you!
Wow Jennifer! Never would I have ever thought to use those colours on Christmas cards! They are absolutely stunning! Thank- you for showing us these techniques!
Mine are finally on the way. I can tell you I could see in the demos I had to have them... even though I have Karen D'Ache to Inktence & everything in between and love them all.. But , loving using my pencils when I'm stamping I could never do that while using the Distress line. Especially my Oxides. No other company's pencils colors ever worked. I am over the moon.
That is SO beautiful! Watching you dry in-between is like watching the magic while heat embossing with powders. Can't wait to get my new watercolor pencils!
I will be chatting here live in the comments starting at 11:30pm EST... and my video starts at midnight. Join me! The video features: - The new Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Pencils: shrsl.com/3ougj - The new STAMPtember set (release at midnight): shrsl.com/3ougk Affiliate links used at no cost to you. I appreciate the support! The rest of the supplies featured will be posted here at midnight when the video goes live!
Hi Jennifer! These Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Pencils are very versatile and I love what you did with them. The cards came out beautiful. Your videos are always so inspirational for me. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent. Gina K's set is sold out! Not surprised. Very pretty! 💙💜🧡
These cards are beautiful! I really like the techniques that you used on these stamped images. The colors are so nice and pigmented. It looks like these distress crayons could be used for lots of different projects. I'm sorry that I missed your live chat. I hope you will be able to do it again soon. Thanks, Jennifer!!
I’m going to try this with the watercolor pencils I already have! Will try on a stamp set I’m not overly worried about if it affects the stamp. Beautiful. Thanks!!! 💙
Thank you, Jennifer! I am so sorry I missed the live, but I did manage to get the stamp set (without die) last night oand am grateful to watch your magik this morning! I ordered Tim's WC Pencils on Saturday, so now I'm doubly excited ... although I only have the Distress Oxides and will now have to go searching for the non-Oxide inks. 😜🙃😂 I know you've done this kind of technique before, but it's been long enough that I'd totally forgotten about it (I'm old!!! 🤣) and tickled pink for the reminder. Big hugs for your week as I'm sure the house is quiet with the kids back in school. 🤗❤️
You really brought that stamp set to life. I love your second generation idea! I already ordered these pencils even though I have a large set. The other set is wood and can't do half the things Tim's will do. I cannot wait to play.
Your dark inked background card reminds me of the movie Frozen, the snowflake with the colors the younger sister wears. ❄️ Massive fan of yours, thanks for sharing all of your wonderful ideas and knowledge! Thanks for sharing the watercolor pencils, I'm super curious about them!
Such a great video Jennifer showing how to use Tim's watercolor pencils which I thought I didn't need. You showed such a fun way to use them and since I have all his stamp pads I guess I will be purchasing these crayons. I was lucky to be able to purchase Gina's beautiful stamp set so I will be trying out this wonderful technique. You always come up with the most unique way of using our supplies. Thanks for this.
I'm so bummed I missed gina's release!! I have things not as beautiful to do this with. Great video, I'm obsessed with the distress line!!! Thanks again for keeping us in the know. P.S. You color really well with everything I've seen you use. Relax honey, you're great!!
I wasn't planning on getting the watercolor pencils... but now you've made me want them too! Amazing work! I want to try it all! Absolutely love it! Thank you for sharing! ❤️
Thank you for showing ways to use the TH watercolor pencils. The GK set is beautiful, but since I didn't buy that, I can try the technique with other snowflake stamps. Thanks for a great video.
I wish I had waited for these to come out. I bought some watercolor pencils a couple of years ago, and the quality was not good. Not very pigmented and not user friendly. Definitely interested in adding this to my Tim Holtz items. Loved your presentation, and really showing us, tips and ideas for artwork, and crafty fun.
Update: I finally bought Set 1. I made artist trading cards today and I used the wet shavings to paint backgrounds for some of the cards. I haven't used stamps with these pencils, but I plan to.
Lovely cards and great way to use the pencils. Of course the stamps were sold out by the time I woke up and grabbed my cup of coffee. Looking forward to the other videos you mentioned are coming using the Distress Watercolor Pencils.
So excited to work with these pencils and so nice that they came out just before my birthday next week. I have ordered all three sets today from ranger and some mica sprays. Hopefully it will arrive in time. I love the distress inks and do alot of stamped watercolor with them. So it will be interesting to see how they compare to the tombow markers I use for some of that. I also some inktense pencils which I take when I travel to color and sketch with and I have tried this technique with the inkense and had better luck with markers.
I was debating on the pencils, but after watching this video I have them in my cart! These would be fun to use with Gina's Wreath Building system!! Thanks again for the inspiration.
I found these pencils at a local arts supply store. I stamp sometimes- especially on atcs, but I find my ink pads dry out too quickly. I welcome your video because I could use an alternative to the inkpads for stamping.
Sorry if I missed this. I’m assuming you used the rough side of the watercolor paper on those cards? Or did you use the smooth side. Thanks for this tutorial, can’t wait to try this technique out!
Lovely Cards! Love the vibrant colours. Can I stamp and clear emboss over the coloured image afterwards to protect the image? Or maybe it doesn’t bleed?
It would only bleed if it got wet. This would be true of most stamped images. You can stamp and emboss over it but keep in mind that the stamped image isn't crisp but the stamped and embossed image would be.
Hi Jennifer 🥰 from Adelaide South Australia 🦘🦘🦘 Sorry I missed the live, but I've watched the entire video. Beautiful technique & your excitement is contagious! Are these pencils comparable to the Prisma colour pencils Kevin N uses from Stampscapes? 🌹🦋🙏
I don't know what pencils Kevin N uses but if they are Prisma color pencils (not watercolor pencils) they are different. And for me being in distress colors is a big attraction because those colors are familiar and you know what color you are going to get when you use them.
What an awesome technique. I watched last night but forgot to comment on the video. Do you think the second generation stamping is more crisp because it's second generation or because it's on regular cardstock... curious because I love the crisp image! Beautiful set!
You know, Jennifer, I found you years ago through the planner video which you did and even though I don’t make cards I stayed for all the knowledge and inspiration for stamping! You never fail to amaze!! Now I have something to do with my Tim Holtz watercolor pencils. Thank you, Jennifer. The cards are beautiful!
I bought all 6 packs of Tim Holtz distress pencils. I love this idea. So far I love these pencils and this is a Great idea
Oh no, I had talked myself out of getting these new pencils...not anymore! Thank you for your cool, interesting creating with these!
She is so darn clever! I love that stripe reversing!
The order of Distress Watercolor Pencils shipped so I finally made myself watch the 2 hour tutorial about them.
Mesmerizing! Seemed like 30 minutes. Actually looking forward to the learning curve!
That background chefs kiss! Great new product from TH. Thanks for demo on this new product.

Gorgeous cards! Absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for showing us such wonderful techniques!
I have the Arteza woodless watercolor pencils. Will be trying this technique with them. Was able to get this stamp by not the dies!

Love the pencils on inked background! Thank you. I’m gonna try with Gina K wreath builder tool
Please do!
Yay! I finally made it to a live premiere!
I found these pencils at a local arts supply store. I stamp sometimes- especially on atcs, but I find my ink pads dry out too quickly. I welcome your video because I could use an alternative to the inkpads for stamping.
Hi Jennifer! I am tired. But trying to wait for this event💞
Looking forward to seeing you this evening.
Can't wait to get these pencils! Beautiful cards :)
you could use a distress oxide pad and put a paint brush on the pad and apply to the stamp
Wow love it. Can’t wait to get mine. Thanks for the inspiration
Sorry if I missed this. I’m assuming you used the rough side of the watercolor paper on those cards? Or did you use the smooth side. Thanks for this tutorial, can’t wait to try this technique out!

I really enjoy your out of the box thinking. What was the white thing you rubbed on the card around the 28:48 mark?
A Paper sanding block! www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Paper-Artsy-SANDING-BLOCKS-Set-of-5-01175-01175PA?currency=USD
Beautiful cards
So fun. Thanks for the great tutorial
Looking forward to this!
Beautiful ❤️
What a winner!
What an awesome technique. I watched last night but forgot to comment on the video. Do you think the second generation stamping is more crisp because it's second generation or because it's on regular cardstock... curious because I love the crisp image! Beautiful set!
Hard to know if it's both but the regular cardstock definitely reacts differently than watercolor paper
Wow beautiful ty
They must be soft core pencils to be able to transfer to a stamp? Softer than pencil crayons?
Beautiful!
Do these stain the stamps?
I haven't noticed that they stain any more than inks do. Some inks can stain.
