Getting the nerve up to do my first ever saddle - a youth size for my first grandson. Been doing leatherwork and saddle repair since 1986. I love your Cheyenne Roll method! Thank you so very much for this!! ❤️❤️❤️
I found this channel from podcastformakers and I am very happy. Very informative videos and some top quality craftsmanship. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and please keep making videos
I got an idea for another video. Plus you could sell it & make you some extra money. Make a full video building a saddle with instruction from start to finish. I know it would take a long time but there are many of us that would be willing to purchase it. There are only a few out there in the saddle making business that have done this & they charge so much for it that no one can afford to buy them. I know the experience that you could give would be a very valuable to a lot of us out here in the leather world. Lots of people would like to build their saddle on their own. And some day offer a saddle making school if there is a hotel close to your shop.
Thanks for your videos! can you make a video on how to fit/finish the Cheyenne roll with the final nice-looking piece of leather that goes on top and underneath the Cheyenne roll? Thx!
Love the videos! This one helped me! Can you maybe do one on the whelps on the swells? Do you prefer the sowing machine or by hand? I’ve been cussing at both, and I’m sure you have a better way! It would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks, McKoy
Love all your videos and Thank You for taking the time to make them, curious as to what type of GLUE you're using? it appears much lighter in color than a Barge or Masters.... Thanks!
Oh man when I started out with leatherwork I was doing a lot of saddle repairs. I’d get so pissed at the saddle maker when I’d get a saddle in and it’s mostly held together with ring shanks! I made it a rule for me to never use ring shanks when building a saddle, just so it’s a bit easier when it goes in for repair, considerate of the poor soul that would otherwise have to deal with those damn things. lol

Kel from Australia, really like your style. I've made a few saddles and I'm always happy to pick up new/ better methods. Thanks. Love your work.

Thank you so much! I use a contact cement I buy locally in 5 gallon buckets. It's basically the same as barge just a different color I think.
Legend has it.. His glue table once caught fire.. It burned for 6 days. Chuck Norris refused to put it out as it was too dangerous.
