Two questions: why do we follow Christ? Because at some point we were struck by the Spirit. Why do we follow Christ as a priest or a nun? Because we were struck by the Spirit and we can handle the celibacy and the loneliness. Good for Sr. Mary Grace.

There are a number of James’ mentioned in the Gospels; with two disciples of that name, with Christians holding that James the Great is a brother of Jesus and an early Church leader. In Christian folklore James is said to have brought Christianity to the Iberian Peninsula, then returned to be martyred in Jerusalem - by King Agrippa having him beheaded (Acts 12:1-2) in contrast to Josephus’ account of stoning. James’ remains were then said to be brought to Santiago de Compostela in what is modern Spain by a crewless ship without sails, placed in a cave, to be found by a Shepard boy centuries later and placed in the Cathederal. This is now the most renowned Christian pilgrim site outside of Rome.
