Fatal house fire in Woonsocket, RI with evacuation tones

Around 7am, multiple calls came into the fire alarm office reporting a house fire. Crews arrived and found heavy smoke showing.
Firefighters located heavy fire in the basement as other crews made a primary search and located the woman on the 1st floor. She was quickly removed but sadly succumbed to her injuries. Firefighters had to evacuate the building when the fire burned through the first floor and spread upward into the roof area. It took about 45 minutes to bring the fire under control. A dog was later found deceased in the home.

great ladder position and they did it right by cabing away putting turn table toward the a side so ladder has perfect reach of the roof and that tower one sexy beast

So sad, I watched the interview with the Woonsocket fire chief and it sounds to me the fire started in the basement and was burning for a while, another thing I noticed was that I did not hear smoke alarms, may that lady and her dog rest in peace and condolences to her family.

Not being on location and not having all of the facts that the I.C. had, I question why there was such a defensive posture when the structure looked viable for an interior attack? I'm not criticizing, just asking.

Ed Loeffler Always read the descriptions. Fire burned through the first floor floor and spread to the roof.
