- a shitty lil song i made in a day because i'm dumb and forgot about GUMI's bithday
i know this one's pretty different from my usual stuff, but funnily enough it's much closer to the music i actually listen to hahah
also consider it my long-promised (and admittedly poor) attempt at post punk i guesss
MP3, ART, INSTRUMENTAL, VSQX (untuned): www.dropbox.co...
SOUNDCLOUD: / through-me-to-you
I'm sorry, I don't think I will be providing tuned VSQXs in the near future:(
Please, don't think it's me being greedy or something, it's really not. I just consider tuning to be something personal to every producer, it gives every song an individual touch, so to say! From what I've seen, a lot of covers seem a little afraid(?) to change the original tuning, and I feel like it would be a lot more interesting if it weren't that way... Idk, maybe it doesn't make much sense, but I hope you'll understand!
"a shitty little song i made in a day" and then they drop an absolute BANGER
That weird moment when a song is lit but depressing at the same time
This is not depressing... It is TERRIFYING
This song makes me feel empty
good
I felt sad and somewhat ok listening to this song
5 years later and I keep coming back to this song. There’s just something about it man, the melancholy and unsettling tone, monochromatic illustration, unnerving lyrics, it’s just! I love it so much!!
Agreed!
Anyone else feel a sense of lost nostalgia from this? The kind of nostalgia that won’t ever come back? Like those precious memories are still there, but you won’t be able to see the one you miss ever again? Even if you did stumble pass them one day as if destiny intended, what if they’ve changed? What if you’re the one that’s changed?
Insanitorium9 yes
InfiGlo I’ve been there a lot of times
fuck yeah
Хыхав
I do, this song reminds me of things I’ve lost and won’t ever be able to get back, things I regret, things I wish I’d done differently
Really good job. This song has a kind of bittersweet and nostalgic feel to it - like playing an old game you used to remember loving. I love the vocal work as usual, the lyrics flow great.
Personally its one of my more favourite songs from you. Your songs are pretty gr8 tho👌
oh wow thank you so much! Really happy you enjoyed it:0
you have no idea how much i like this, it's a very nice style and the lyrics are interesting, keep growing I'm rooting for you ;)
Oh wow thank you!! These words mean so much, you are seriously a huge inspiration to me!
Rooting means fucking as in sex in Australia but haha I know what you mean and same here!
it aint growin fast enough, goddamnit
Seriously, with no intent in exaggerating, this is one of the best english vocaloid songs that i ever heard, after literal hundreds and hundreds of songs, i finally found one that i can truly said that i love, it's concise, catchy, it feels so chill and unerving at the same time, kinda phantasmagoric.
And the lyrics, intriguing but without reaching pretension (something that a lot of producers end up doing), they feel so real, so... sincere; anyway, excelent work, and thanks
100% agree. ^^
Finally some jam for my toast
New ferry song. Insta like.... also super relatable background.... and as always great song.
This song really sounds like someone finding out a horrible truth about their entire life, I love this song so much this is now probably my favorite song
*reads description before listening to song
Me: Awww. Well, this is probably going to be a cute nostalgic song or whatever.
*Sees first few of the lyrics
Me: That's dark... Is this about gossip?
*Keeps listening to the song more
Me: Okay... Is Gumi's role in the story a stalker?
a lot of these theories involve three people, usually with gumi as a stalker, but ive always personally interpreted it as gumi is the crush, who requited this kids feelings but never confessed. i think she we being groomed or preyed upon by her teacher and when he found out she was pregnant he killed her, and now she reminisces on the life she could have had
i used to love this song so much when this originally dropped, then years later got a new YT account and now that this channel got recommended to me again and i remembered about your songs i rushed to relisten to this masterpiece again. still such a banger
I absolutely love this song! It's so unique and I can't really tell what its about since it jumps from topic to topic, but that's what I like about it! It gives the viewer something to analyze and come up with their own personal meaning owo
ahhh!!! i love the instrumental, the lyrics, the art, GUMI, tHE TUNING!!!! gosh especially the TUNING I LOVE IT she sounds so crisp and clear!!!!!
I'm just looking at those first couple lines of the song in utter astonishment.
"Did you know they had found a corpse in the bathroom inside your teacher's home?
Did know what your crush was hiding in her womb?"
*INTERPRETS LYRICS WAY TOO DEEPLY*
So, obviously, Gumi has a crush on a guy who has a crush on another girl who has somehow become pregnant. And then there's this body that was found in his teacher's bathroom.
I have so many questions:
1. Is the pregnant girl that the guy has a crush on the same person that was found in the teacher's bathroom?
2. If so, did the boy make her pregnant, or did the teacher?
3. If it was the teacher, does that mean that he killed the pregnant girl?
4. Is it possible that Gumi could have gone all Yandere, killed the pregnant girl, and placed the body inside the teacher's home?
5. If so, how did Gumi break into the teacher's home?
This is what I love about these kinds of songs - there is a deeper meaning, a mystery behind the lyrics that tell a thrilling, *complex* story. For me, at least, it's really hard to find these gems, especially when the mainstream music is full of nothing but gibberish and disstracks. I'm glad to have struck gold on this one. Keep making these wonderful hidden gems! 😁
So now I have a theory based in this comment:
Gumi likes xx-kun. xx-kun likes Gumi, but they don't know each others feelings.
Sensei rapes Gumi and she gets pregnant. When she tells sensei, sensei kills her.
She becomes a ghost. As a ghost, she realizes xx-kun likes her. She tries to talk to him and asks herself how'd she react.
The corpse is found, but she isn't able to contact xx-kun.
That would explain why she says:
-I wonder where you are now(she is dead so she doesn't know)
-I wonder if you like me(does xx-kun still like Gumi even if she's a ghost)
-I wonder if you fear me(she's a ghost, she's scary)
-I wonder if it's funny(xx-kun is deppresed because Gumi died)
I'm sorry, but I just can't see this Gumi as a yandere
@@lu-lo3jb I got more of a feeling that this was xx-kun thinking of/missing gumi, which makes a few of the other lines make more sense, ie. I wonder where you are=afterlife, I wonder if you can hear me=is her spirit able to hear his thoughts, like me=never got a yes or no bc she died, etc, and all the rotting and worthless lyrics are meant to show xx-kun going downhill without having her to look forward to and becoming increasingly desperate for a sign or answer to his prayers, however small.
@@prophet3091 thats dark ;-;
Lora Coggins it could be that gumi is the dead girl.
I always think of this as like missing someone from your past and looking back on it. Like “Hey, we graduated high school a long time ago. Did you know they found a corpse in mr.xx’s bathroom? He killed someone!” And “that girl you had a crush on, did you know she was pregnant? Yeah she gave birth a while back.” Stuff like that. Like maybe this person moved away and since Gumi is still in the hometown with the teacher and the crush, she’s wondering if the man she’s talking to ever thinks about her or ever has heard about what’s gone on back home.
It's been 4 years and I keep coming back to this song. It gives me incredible nostalgia about the time I used to listen to it on repeat. Sometimes out of nowhere I remember it exists, and I look it up to listen to the song again. It gives me nice memories back.
"through me to you," aka: "ferry slays again"
I discovered you because of PAFL, but honestly this song is my favorite that you've made.
It conveys such an extrange feeling... The melody is wonderful as is the art, and the lyrics feed into that feeling that I can't quite name, but it's a feeling that resounds with me.
Love it!
*hey atheists explain this*

No Jacob No Bailey YAAAS GOOGLE HELPS US ATHEISTS FINALLY XD
This is a song that somebody created that entails concepts and idea's that may or may not be true in any way- shape- or form.
This is an allegory for friendzone
Yin Yang-P *oh shit*
bless you ferry for another bop!! this is so unique
also do you have the vsqx for this? this song is too good not to cover....
and what font do you use for the lyrics? sorry for all the questions and thank you in advance!
it's cool it's cool! the vsqx will be available soon, and as for the font, I usually use Consolas in my videos!
Yay, Gumi is awesome and this is like my new favorite song!
edit: and jeez Gumi sounds super real in this!
Oh? A drop of emotion? Looks like I'll be replaying this until I drain it dry.
This song makes me feel an emotion that I don’t think exists. The emotion makes me feel kinda empty because I don’t know what to call it.
Same
It feels like a good version of my feeling of apathy while I healed from my depression. It feels weirdly soft but somber, lonely, and empty, as well as scared, concerned, and comforting
I just call it wonky /jk
I'm listening to this on repeat even tho I should've left for school like 8 minutes ago, send help
(Pd: I read the description and now I need to know what music do you usually listen to, I need more stuff like this in my life)
aww tbh I listen to a lot of stuff
But in regards to this particular genre DIIV, Black Marble, motorama and the Smiths have a similar vibe!
Ferry Thanks! (I was too lazy to click the notification when I got it and then I forgot rip)
I actually had listened to the entirity of It's immaterial one of these boring days where you just sit down and listen to random music the entire day (Or maybe that's just me, dunno), but I guess it didn't really stick with me then.
hey, to each their own! it would be pretty boring if everyone liked the same exact type of music after all:o
Thank you Ferry! I know this was 2 years ago so you probably won’t see, but thank you anyway. You introduced me to Black Marble through this comment!
I like this! But what's it about?
Thanks! It's kinda disjointed, but it's about a depressed person trying and failing to reach out to someone they love while listening to Pink Floyd
Congrats you wrote a song that made me audibly say "Jesus christ!" within like 3 lines.
I still hold out hope for this song to be put on spotify lol
guess what :D
I don't know why, but this song gives me satisfying creeps... somehow. Maybe it's about art, or Gumi's voice in some lines, or the melody, or everything mixed together. Great!
(p.s. it gave me some Heathers movie vibes, what I also adore, hehe)
Rainbow Zebra Oh man it's certainly hard to describe but I know what you feel! It's reminiscent of old style songs and that's why I love it!
I love the lyrics!! You did a great job my dude
Aaa thank you!
The lyrics have me shook but also i love how it sounds ♡
!!
thank you so much!!
Once again, i meant to go to sleep, but here i am listening to vocaloid songs that make me feel emotions i didnt know i could feel.
Wow this style of music is what was missing for vocaloid
I love the detail in the picture and the song! I love this kind of stuff
hey hey did you know
they had found a corpse in the bathroom
inside your teacher's home
no did you know
what your crush was hiding in her womb
i wonder where you are now
my love
i wonder if you hear me
somehow
somehow
hey hey did you know
recently i feel like i got soft
but if you feel like
looking at me rot
you can stop by because why not
i wonder if you'd like that
my love
i wonder if you'd help me
somehow
somehow
he sings he's dry as a funeral drum
it feels nice sometimes to be treated like scum
to feel tasteless like old and bland chewing gum
he sings that he has become
comfortably numb
and i can only say
hey did you know
yesterday i saw a tv show
and by the end i
felt like i could throw
i would throw
up burning hot coal
i wonder if it's funny
my love
i wonder if you fear me
and now
i wonder if you hear me
my love
i wonder if you feel me
somewhere
somehow
GOD THE HEY HEY DID YOU KNOW WAS STUCK IN MY HEAD AND I FORGOT WHICH SONG AND FUCK YES I FINALLY FOUND IT. YES. YAY :)
I really didnt think this type of posy-punk-esque style would fit so well with vocaloid!! this is great I love it
Another really good Ferry song
hhh thank you!!
I used Google to translate this comment. In case anyone can't translate it themselves, here is this commenters theory: (note that I changed a few things to make it easier to read (curse how translators make things janky) and I removed the original commenters quips.) (Also, clearly (as per use of a translator) I don't know Russian. So, if the commenter meant something different, oops!)
Firstly, the girl who sings the song is the girl in the bathroom. She literally states she has gotten soft and is rotting, this implies the girl is the same person as the corpse in the bathroom.
Secondly, it seems like this whole song is addressed to the girl's lover. She, in spirit, is trying to explain to her lover the shocking truth of her death.
Third, about the pregnancy: it was clearly unwanted. I Googled reasons why someone can vomit black (which is what I assume the song means by "hot charcoal") and one of the reasons is alcohol. (**I'm not 100% sure what the original commenter meant, so me trying to make this part understandable might lose the original meaning.) Even if the main character didn't drink anything, clearly not cherishing the fetus, she was in a tough spot emotionally, which allowed room for sickness.
Fourth, I haven't even started talking about the teacher. It says the singer likes to be treated badly. Perhaps this indicates guilt over her pregnancy, but she definitely didn't want it to die. It's interesting to note that the singer says "your teacher" rather than "our teacher". If we assume that the lover and the singer were in the same class, it makes it appear that the teacher and the singer had a more intimate relationship. Perhaps she had sex with the teacher and consequently got pregnant and then started dating her lover, and because of this the teacher killed the singer.
This song captures the essence of a very specific interpretation of ghosts
If you don’t mind me asking, which interpretation?
@@justa_randomfailure6250 Right, yeah. I dont mean any like, big codified thing really, more just an idea that's a little more supernaturally out there but that otherwise feels really in line with how I personally feel about ghosts
The idea I have while listening to this song feels like, while you're alive it's within your power to change the world yourself. But in that moment when you're dying, your wishes are heard by the world directly.
It's not a direct literal wish like a genie or something, but more that it tilts the way the story of the world is told, in that poetic way.
You can't file a police report, but you can make the right thing happen eventually. You can't say I love you, but you can have someone feel a bit less alone. You can't sing a song, but you can give life a moment of vivividy to the people you love.
And also just, the song feels very compelling emotionally, so that melancholic feeling reminds me of thoughts of losing a loved one ;P
Dude, you’re exactly what I was looking for. I love vocaloid producers (and all musicians in general) with original music style and this unique vibe in your song is just amazing. I think I can already call you one of my favourite vocaPs next to GHOST and strovi
for some reason this makes me nostalgic for my teenage years. maybe its the sense of melodrama, I don't know. It's a bit weird since I only heard this song a few months ago and its only 2 years old. oh well, I've listened to it on loop for days at a time so good job funky Russian.
I've been listening 2 this song on repeat for 10 minutes and just let me say wow. This song resonates with me. I love the art. It's just beautiful. Please continue making music. The simplicity of your tunes and the lyrics are just unique. :)
I'm so glad you put German subtitles on this video, Ferry!
I'm trying to do good in Elementary German class via VHL Supersite. In my VHL Supersite, I got 97.9% of my grade. In contrast to my Valencia College class course (Elementary German), I got 100% (An A, or an A+).
So let's just say I did Lektions 1A and 1B to 4A and 4B, and let me just add (in German):
_Es ist wunderbar, eine andere Sprache zu lernen!_
Vielen Dank für Meine Zeit, Ferry!
I just got into vocaloids (at 24 xD) thanks to my s/o, and God, I'm glad they recommended your music. It's so good!
this is the go-to dissociation song honestly
OwO whats this? Pink floyd references in my jam?
Oh my god. You improve with every track I swear. Your tuning has improved and it's less quiet than your previous tracks. You're quickly becoming a favourite producer of mine!
still a banger
edit: full body goosebumps at the end good job. its just a good fucking song
Я не знаю, как это получается, но Ваши песни выходят очень милыми и ламповыми. Какой бы смысл они не несли
1:31 hey did you know
Ferry now has a new upload
And by the end i
Felt like I could touch, I would touch
That repeat button
Yeet
This song is so,,,,so,,,S O damn GOOD YO!!! And that art oml, it is also 👌👌👌👌
I love the tunning in GUMI ✨♥️✨♥️
Hey! I got that funeral drum and comfortably numb reference! I'm so proud of myself.
Aaaaaaa Gumi sounds freaking amazing!!
gives me strange portal 2 vibes in a very good way, excellent work as always!
I love everything you make!
it feels like a great song to listen to while walking through town, next to destroyed buildings in rainy and cloudy weather, something i really needed right now! thank you for your music 💞
i know this is 2 years old but i revisit this song a lot. it helps a lot
Okay this may just be because I finally bingewatched it last week, but this song is giving me hella Moral Orel vibes? It's the kind of song that I could totally see being used on that show alongside No Children and the like; it's got that similar kind of Existential Feeling wrapped up in a catchy tune that you've managed to get so well from the beginning.
This is so sad im going to cryyyyyyy
not me listening to this song just now and knowing i'll have it stuck in my head for the next 6-8 months
this is awesome! you're getting better each song, I mean you were great in the first place and only getting better (:
OMG, I just found out that Gumi IS the corpse in the bathroom inside the your teacher’s home! And she’s a ghost and the setting is a bathroom and song is BUSSIN’ :)
ur music and art never ceases to amaze me :o !! i love it !!
fff thank you so much my man!!
You never ceases to amaze me FerryP, your style is so unique compared to other vocaloid producers.
This basically perfectly describes how I've been feeling during quarantine
..except for that first part my teacher doesn't murder people (at least i hope not lol)
It took me a long time since originally finding this song, but I think I have a vague idea of what is happening and how it connects to The Wonderful Story of My Destruction. (be warned, this post is long)
Based on what I know of Beginner's Guide to Hearsay, the person visually represented in the video is Concrete, and I think the singer is actually Steel. Steel is a writer for tabloid types of magazines, so the opening line "Hey, hey, did you know? They had found a corpse in the bathroom" feels like it's channeling that type of headline-gossip.
My general interpretation is that somehow Steel died, perhaps he was the corpse in the bathroom, and now exists as a soul tormented by Kafka (the demon from She Could be Satan For All I Know) as part of their pact's agreement. Now dead and rotting inside of a demon, he tries to reach out to Concrete though this song. Perhaps in that time he's thinking back to all the things he did and said to Concrete in the past.
The line "yesterday I saw a tv show" might refer to Concrete sharing an anime he liked with Steel, and during his lifetime Steel didn't have the heart to tell the other how disturbed he was by that show, taking that to his grave. Now that he's dead, there is a freedom to say anything he wants, since Concrete likely won't ever hear it, which is why I think this was brought up. I also think there is some regrets here, in that Steel wishes he could have been more honest in his time alive.
Lastly, The Wonderful Story of My Destruction is about Kafka's death at the hands of Levi (who is Concrete's pact demon). It's hard to gauge the two demon's relationship with each other, or what Levi's motives during the murder are, but from Kafka's death I think comes the release of the souls he has consumed. That's why a portion of this song can be heard then, as to say that Steel and the other souls have escaped. Based on the title implying his is "Wonderful", the release of souls is implied to be a good thing, even if the death of Kafka is incredibly brutal. It could also mark the death of implied love that Kafka had for Levi, with "The Miserable Story of My Creation" being about the budding feelings Kafka has for the other demon.
Still, there are plenty in this song, and in the song series, that I don't fully understand. I'm also pretty sure that I got a lot of things wrong, but I also love this song way to much to try to give my take on what could be going on here. Thanks to anyone who feels like reading this stupidly long comment.
This got into my heart instantly the moment I heard it. And honestly, all interpretations being so deep, these first lines gave me an impression of an, ummm, world image? It's like the narrator illustrates how bad the world is these days and all, how they kinda look for relief in this person they address ("i wonder if you'll help me somehow"). The plot being vague and up to interpretation, the vibe is that of a mayday call, with this 'you might want to come and see me rot' being a classical depressed way of expressing it. Beautiful and very catchy!
+1 в плейлист любимых песен!
С каждой новой композицией просто улетаю на небеса от её чудесности ;μμμ;
Спасибо Вам за ваше творчество, оно очень вдохновляет !
I really love this song. So different to the others. Love the 8-bit old school feeling in the instrumental.
i was avoiding vocaloid songs for a moment, including yours, but now i decided to give you a try. even if this song is short, i love it’s lyrics and music! you’re pretty great.
I am smelling a born to be famous artist here.
Wonderful job 👍.
I really love the tune, soft, sad, and a little eerie - and your art is so nice to look at!!

WHO NEEDS SLEEP WHEN FERRY UPLOADS!
words cannot describe how much i love this song
This is so good and the lyrics flow really nicely as always! Keep making music my guy :’) I look forward to your uploads!
oooh this is really catchy! it gives me the same vibes that listening to the smiths gives me and the art is very mood too...
Oh thank you!! I'm glad I managed to somewhat capture that atmosphere, I love the guys so much!
It gave me chills, I only get chills when a song makes me feel intensely. I really love this song, keep it up!
This song kind of reminds me of when someone is trying to make conversation with a friend but that friends is seriously depressed or going through something really awful and they just keep talking about things that they've done or heard about and the lyrics aren't what the person is actually saying it's what the friends is hearing it as. (Hope this makes sense)
Btw this is only for the "hey hey did you know..." parts. I interpret the other lyrics differently.
I absolutely adore this song. I relate so hard to it and I'm not sure why
I love this! I wish it was longer, I've had it on repeat for a while now
In a day?!??!? This is so pleasant and nice to listen to, you should be proud!!
I only recently found you but holy SHIT you are good a tuning
I think your music is really becoming amazing, seriously I love gumi's voice in this and it just becomes really memorable! Seriously this is amazing and you should keep working, your music is really promising!
