Not sure if anyone else noticed, but I like how it's implied the protagonist burned through all her lives in less than three months- it's mentioned that it started on a winter morning, and that she was found in the snow after having lost her last life, indicating that it was still winter.

I like how the gradient color of the sky in the bg changes through the song. It starts blue (which on the stoplights seems to be swapped for where the green light would usually be), signaling the character seeing nothing wrong with her dangerous actions- a green(blue) light, keep going, don't slow down. Then in the middle it turns yellow- the middle light, slow down, consider what you're doing as the consequences of her actions start showing up. Then at the end, when it finally ends and she ends up dying, it turns red- stop light, end of the line.

In Japan, people call the green traffic light blue. There's some linguistic reasons that I don't have memorised right now (a bunch of green things are called blue instead), but yeah, basically, even if the light is technically green in colour, in speech a green signal is a "blue signal" instead in Japanese.

So, I have a theory on what this song’s about.
A trickster deity, taking the form of a cat, finds a young girl who wishes of adventuring but is scared of dying on the way. On her way home from school, she finds a black cat - and immediately trips and falls somewhere...
The next morning, she wakes up with no memory of what happened. All she knows is that her body aches all over, she has faint memories of a “portrait painted red”, the cat is still there...and she’s been given cat ears.
The cat assures her that now she has nine lives. The girl has to keep track of how many she has herself, but other than that...the world is hers.
Immediately, she goes on adventures, but people start noticing what’s going on, saying she’s changed. At that point, she accepts that dying is part of the experience, and ignores them completely.
Over time, the deity (still with her) encourages them to ‘mould their soul into their likeness’ and do madder and madder things. By now, the girl has used up many of her lives, but she seems to not care.
When the girl is on her ‘last life’, the deity reveals something to her: she didn’t just fall on the day she met the cat - she fell into a construction site.
The deity found her dying in the darkness, in the snow, with a concrete shell binding her rib cage and wrapped in plastic and wires.
The deity then brought her back to life, and erased her memory of the night’s events - just to see what would happen.
The girl, now completely desensitized to the idea of death and fixated on the last life she has to lose, brushes off the news. She goes for one last thrill, but, in the moments before she finally dies for good, she realises that her death in the construction site actually counted -
There was a certain death she failed to take into account.

I've only just recently found this song, but I immediately fell in love with it, so much so that I wrote an entire theatre monologue based on the so-called "cat deity" portrayed to have found Gumi! I love seeing all the different interpretations here too, so here's mine:
The Cat Deity is a symbol for many things; when I first heard this song, I though it was about how power corrupts people and turns them into someone different completely, though I've also seen people say that the Deity symbolizes passion, being carefree, or just general freedom. I find that the nine lives Gumi is given are her chances left before she turns to ruin. Every time she experiences her "death", she finds it to be temporary, and is then desensitized and takes advantage of her so-called immortality. She takes caution not to slip too much, but eventually looses sight of her initial goal, burdened by the love of life she acquired. Deep inside, she knows she has already gone too far, and that it's only a matter of time before she's ruined. In the end, she realizes that the offer by the Deity was never a gift, but rather a curse, which was the very "death [she] failed to take into account."

This is honestly the best song you've produced yet. yet. You're getting better at mixing and tuning! I've always thought you've had amazing lyrical ability, but the mixing and beat is repetitive. It's getting better though. My only critique is that you shouldn't be afraid to mix notes! Having the same sound gets repetitive. Don't get caught in the cycle of a lot of ENG producers, having the same repetitive sound in every song. You have the makings of a great producer. I can't wait to see where you go from here! 💕

alright so this is how i interpret this:
The singer is a girl who is afraid of death/pain, which prevents her from doing all the dangerous and risky things she wants to do.
It gets to a point where she sees danger in everything, causing her life to seem 'boring' because she's scared to do anything she thinks could end in her being hurt.
("It all began one dark winter morning / Back when life seemed so ungodly boring / Holding myself back from doing fun stuff / Dangers all around")
Then one day, a deity arrived in the form of a cat and blessed her with 9 lives. She immediately jumped at the opportunity to do all the things she wanted to do without worrying about the danger involved.
("That was when the cat came and I was blessed / For the first time, I felt pure excitement / At the limitless prospect of the mad / Adventures to be had")
I think most of the chorus is self-explanitory, but "If my flesh is torn to shreds / Then it's a worthy sacrifice" means that every time the girl loses a life, she's sacrificing it to the deity.
(ill talk about that more later *wink wink*)
The first time the girl loses a life, she panics so much that the deity themself has to return to reassure her that she's not actually dead yet, and that she'll wake up again unharmed.
However, along with this reassurance, the deity also allows the girl to catch a glimpse of her ultimate fate, which she will suffer once she dies for the 9th and final time.
("The pain is dulled by the deity's assurance / That was sure a curious occurrence / In my head, a picture of myself / A portrait painted red")
She wakes up completely unharmed, as if the previous death had never happened- just as the deity had promised. After learning that she is still alive, the girl realizes that that was all she was ever worried about losing: her own life.
("I woke up to see myself receding / Yet my heart was still alive and beating / That was everything I've ever needed / All my worries dead")
So now that she CAN lose her life without consequences (at least from her point of view), she gets more and more reckless, dying left and right but forgetting that she still only has a limited amount of lives.
All the people who knew her as a 'scaredy-cat' begin to notice her increasing carelessness and disapprove, trying to talk sense into her but failing as the girl knows she still has lives left to lose.
("The counter started ticking down / "You've really changed," they frown")
Eventually, the girl finally loses her 9th life. By then, she had forgotten how many she had to lose and didn't realize this was the last one, which is why she was still smiling.
Before she completely dies, the deity approaches her and tells her to kill them as well, explaining that her previous 9 lives will transfer into their soul.
("Glowing eyes tear through the shadows / In the night, she found me smiling / "Claw my heart out, dear mistress / Mold my soul into your likeness"")
The girl obeys, killing the deity and giving them her 9 lives. However, the reason the deity was able to come back wasn't only because of the newfound lives, but because they already had several other lives to lose.
This wasn't the first time the deity had granted lives to people who wanted them, and every time someone lost their final life, they told them the same thing: to kill them so that they could take the lives for themself.
Why? Because they were also afraid of death. Because they wanted to live forever. So they decided to work towards this goal by granting lives to people they sensed a fellow fear of death in, and taking them for their own use afterwards, which was to expand their lifespan.
After this, the girl dies for the final time, allowing the deity to be reborn.

The final chorus is the girl realizing the deity's true goal, right before she dies.
Along with being angry she was fooled by them, she is also angry because of how the deity is using all their lives - for their own selfish gain, simply so they can live as long as possible, and not for any reason that would adhere to the girl's philosophy about 'life's thrilling flavors.'
("What a cynical delusion / All of this turned out to be! / Disregarding any flavor / From the sour to the sweet")
Finally, she realizes that she had gotten too caught up in her newfound recklessness to ever acknowledge her fate- her fate after the death that would be her last.

also i used they/them pronouns to refer to the deity, since when i tried to write it w the she/her pronouns that are used in the song it got confusing when i talked abt the girl + the deity in the same sentence ^^;

This reminds me of a book I read about a boy that took 8 of nine of his cat’s lives and had them surgically put into him so he had nine lives but he did not care what he did so he lost those lives real quick but did not realize that he was on his last life so he decided to go skydiving... the parachute did not eject out of the pack so he plummeted into the earth never to be heard from again.
Books aside this is a really good song and your art style is great. ywy I have loved listening to your music because you are new and I like to change up what I listen to and your style is really unique compared to others like GHOST, Creep-P, and umberatic forest. Okie so here is what I think happens: A girl, (Gumi) is afraid of trying new things because of her anxiety over all the dangers that come with trying anything. She wishes to do stuff with her friends but is prevented because of her constant fear of death. However one day she has a near-death experience and was lucky enough to survive but was given a new obsession with living life on the edge. Because of her belief that she has more then one life to spend she continues to risk life and limb to feel excitement. However this backfires because she no longer has a sense of what is dangerous and what is safe, this causes her friends to leave her because of her change in personality and the fact that she won't listen to their warnings. However her luck ran out, she died trying to experience pure excitement, believing that dying was worth it. Anyway that is just my theory.

I see this more as poetry than music. This is morbid and really gives me food for thought. I wish more people wrote music in this way.
I've learned that he is Russian (or at least russian-speaking)and everything started making sense. In Russia(I include Ukraine and other states that were parts of Russian empire/soviet union)we've always had really rich poetry and lots of talented dramaturgs. Most of their creations are extremely depressing and explore heavy topics (death, suicide etc). We learn about them since we are very young and inherit some of this depressing emotions from our ancestors. Futhermore, the majority of music in russian is depressing as fuck) Hope i cleared it up a bit.

Okay, here's my interpretation: A girl is terrified of death until one winter day, something happens and she dies. She's brought back to life by a cat of some kind, who grants her 9 more lives. However, her new power to essentially resurrect herself causes her personality to change, making her reckless and a thrill-seeker because she knows she'll survive no matter what, and she distances herself from her friends and family. This comes to a head when she's on her second-to-last life, which causes her to lose a life and die in her next crazy idea. Looking back, she realizes that there was one death she failed to take into account: the death of the "old her" as she changed due to her nine lives.
