    This toilet is really impressing! even though it didnt take the washcl/grcry bg together, it still did well! I’m impressed. i want an older cadet to be honest, i know they sell some at Habitat for Humanity, but I’m gonna have to go to one first.

    This toilet is great & has the correct fill valve for it. I’ve seen quite a few of these elongated 1960s Cadets over the years with Fluidmaster 200A fill valves in them. There was one in the Men’s Room along with a Stallbrook urinal at the Sussex County library. There’s also one in the Stewartsville Presbyterian Church Men’s Room that I’ve filmed before as well. These are great, legendary toilets that usually stay in service for long periods of time do to their excellent performance.

    I really like this toilet as it kinda reminds me of my first vacation trips to Florida from the UK in the late 1980's as the motel I and my parents stayed at had a toilet just like this one with elongated bowl - but in white (which had an American Standard badge - recon it was from the same period as this one). This performed well considering it struggled on the combined washcloth/gcry bag together and the dishtowel (did take them with some help), it is a super impressive toilet anyway as the bowl rinse is perfect and I like the colour of this one!

      Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised since these were very common from the time. I've even seen them at a couple hotels.

      @@OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations although yesterday I got two turquoise 1963/1964 Kilgore ajax toilets and you know those have always been my most wanted toilets, but one of them is completely destroyed and the other is like perfect condition

      @brosigg527 6 месяцев назад +1

      And I think I solved a mystery, the 1963 one says Kilgore on the top, and the 1964 says it on the base

    I just found one at the marketplace on facebook not far from me! I'm glad I was able to watch this video. I'm considering getting one to replace my round toilet in my bathroom. I hope the water won't touch my private part. lol.

    Thank you very much for allowing us to see the intense testing of this toilet. It is a most acceptable unit and we are not surprised that you would not wish to part with it. We are grateful for your kind greeting and wish you a very Happy New Year too.

      Dang good flush on this, AS elongated Cadet! The majority I've seen are sluggish and slow to drain being the siphon out wasn't that strong. This is exactly the color I had in the lower level bathroom but only in a round bowl. Think it was 1961 or 1962. Even had the flatter squared off rim as shown here. The upstairs bath was a powder blue. Loved those 5.0gpf swirlers! Unstoppable for 30+ years.

    I realized that a white top came on the ground? Was that in the trap? Or was it just on the grass because I thought nothing was in this bowl.

    my grandmother had this toilet in this color in her house,, it worjked great but nothing compared to the flush of ther modern VorMaxxes I have ib my house

    • @OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations
      @OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hers must have had some serious problems if a Vormax flushes better

    • @eldoradoboy
      @eldoradoboy 6 месяцев назад

      @@OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations flush was too slow.. if you had a big wad of paper that didnt go through right away it was stopped up..sometimes the water would go up the rim and build enough head pressure to push it down.. the vormax flush is fast with momentum and slams the load through.. I recently stayed in a hotel in texas that still has original cadets in many rooms and they flushed similar.. most definitely a better toilet than most on the market today .. the sterling that were in my house previous to the vormax were probably some of the worst ever...

      @@eldoradoboy Most likely a plugged trap and jets from hard water deposits. I had to give all of mine a muriatic acid bath since the water at times gets as hard as 26 grains during the summer which is like having rocks come out of the spigot.
