Richard is simply my favorite music artist of all time. And because people mostly call him a music producer, it's hard for me to stress that I am a fan of his art. I do not think he is a producer. He is a musical artist.
I completely agree with this. If you have a CD copy of Drukqs as I do, I would advise taking a moment to view the images on the front and back cover, as well as in the booklet. They were taken by Richard and this shows that he's not only talented in the music aspect, but also in other aspects of art such as photography.
Oh I have heard Drukqs at least 100 times. And although I have seen all the images after downloading the album off the deep web. I think he's a tremendous artist.
Except for some industrial shit, Prodigy and Ministry i usually don't like eletronic music, a punk friend showed me "Orphans" album yesterday and i've not stoped listening since. This shit just sinks into your mind like butter in a frying pan. Awesome.
Caio F. Ok, then if you like this, then there's practically a whole world of IDM artists you've yet to uncover. I recommend Autechre, Venetian Snares, Squarepusher... many people call it IDM, but anyway none of this is that ultra-repetitive trance stuff. there's so much genius in each of these artists' work.
Entiendo la recomendación pero Aphex Twin no tiene nada que ver con Autechre, Venetian Snares y otros percusores.. haz balance de todo el trabajo y verás. Aphex Twin es astronómicamente superior a todo lo que engloba el terreno musical.
given that he had to literally write code for software/drivers which did not exist before just to acquire his sound, it's a fair assumption Richard was in the same state when the music was (finally) written ;p
it's the ideal blend of intelligence and stupidity, hyper and hyposensitivty that only the kind of bipolar autistic eccentric schizoid mind he has could come up with. great capacity to dig into the details of an idea or sound without the overly rational inhibition that would stop you from actually doing it. is it madness or genius?

It's really cool to hear the progression of his work from the early stuff to now. The recent release on his website is the best electro I've ever heard for sure.
He was ahead of his time.. that track predates even some of the earlier Drill & Bass (not Breakcore, this is pure Drill & Bass) by 1 year or even more because we don't know when Richard made that track but my guess is one of the last tracks he made for the tape. Also is one of my favorite AFX tracks ever.. wish there was a version with better quality.
@@sasasayakuza He didn't release this, someone stole the tape back in 1994 while Richard was asleep after doing a gig in the house he lived in with a bunch of other musicians. The guy who stole it copied the tape then put it back before Richard woke back up.
"Fresher and cleaner, hands are fresher and cleaner" etc. Someone found the original Oil Of Ulay commercial it's from. No idea why they call it Ulay instead of Olay in Britain...
"***fresher and cleaner and very smooth and not at all dry*** This was the fastest techno track in existence when i made it, jus sayin, time is the strangest thing. "
Note: most of these songs are being played at the wrong speed. The guy who ripped the stolen tape just assumed it was standard speed. Different tracks actually use different speeds. Almost all of the tracks appeared later in the Soundcloud dump. Off the top of my head the opening song is playing at the intended speed. Don't remember if any of the others are.
@@Bone237 You're mixing up releases. "The Joyrex Tape" (named after a fan's online name on WATMM) was a stolen tape released to the internet sometime around 2011. The soundcloud songs were released by Richard from 2015 onwards. They eventually included most of the songs that had been on the Joyrex Tape (but this time at the right speed), although 3 of them are still unreleased by him (and one of the 3 is a Cylob/Aphex Twin duet, and since Cylob hates him now for some undisclosed reason Richard will probably never get permission to release it). Also the Joyrex Tape was presented as an album, the soundcloud stuff is essentially 290 or so one-song singles. No indication of any track belonging with any other track (well except for the Analogue Bubblebath vol 6 demos).
Its all nice but please check your dynamics on the volumes between each track, cause its uncomfortable to be comfortable listening a track and then the volume change at the next one track, completely unpro.
