Thank you sir. I couldn't make heads or tails out of the junky instructions. With this vid I installed the capacitor in 15 minutes. My Yamaha 3000 is no longer having to use it's built in boost technology to start the compressor.

did you take any readings before/after to see if it really made a difference? did you notice/hear any difference while inside that made you say it was doing its job?? i am looking to do this but wondering if it is really worth it??? also where did you buy it for $17? thanks

Yeah I used a clamp meter and prior to the install I was reading approximately 33 amps for a split second for inrush current. After the install it varies between 27 and 29 amps. I purchased it off of ebay, however, the seller I purchased from is sold out. Please make sure whichever capacitor you go with that it is compatible with your model air conditioner. The one I used was the Dometic Duo-Therm Air Conditioner Motor Hard Start Kit 3310727.007. Lastly, there is no noise differences. This mod is mainly for those who use a generator while camping because of the reduced demand of amps the AC compressor needs to draw from.

Christian Hunt YES. I plugged into my 3400 watt generator before, and blew the overload protection. After installing my hard start capacitor, the trailer is cooling very nicely. The bottom line is... the Hard Start Capacitor WORKS GREAT!!!!
