- For $60,000 AUD you can get a 430hp, 600Nm, AWD electric performance hatch from MG. It can hit 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds too! It's an enticing option if you're not looking to spend $100,000 on a performance EV alternative. But is it a good performance car?
Worth mentioning is only the MG4 Excite51 has an LFP battery. The rest are NMC if you care about that sort of thing.
Also Driving Enthusiast tested the 0-100 at 3.82s, so it seems to hold up to the manufacturers claims 👍
Did you use launch control? what was the battery level? That 0-100 was terrible.
Agree didn’t use launch control
Super excited to get mine on the driveway next Friday!!! 1st EV
Yeww! Keen to hear what you think of it. Feel free to drop your own review on our site, ProductReview.com.au
doesent really look like a 3P competitor, seems to be more in the crossover class?
It's weirdly in between. It's more the fact it's a compact sized EV with plenty of power, usually reserved for the likes of a Tesla Model 3.
@ProductReviewCars the Model 3 Performance is a very low to the ground EV which does corners great, drives great on track, has track mode etc.
So its not really a rival I would say, the 0-60 times of the 3 Performance isnt the most impressive thing about it, its how it goes around bends.
Not meaning that the MG4X is a bad car, but its a different kind of car. I would more compare it to Volvo XC30 or something like that.
