    Description:
Persona 3 Reload is a role-playing video game developed and published by Atlus. Reload is a remake of Persona 3 (2006), the fourth main installment of the Persona series, itself a part of the larger Megami Tensei franchise. The game released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on February 2, 2024.
As with the original game, the protagonist is a high school student returning to his home city a decade after leaving. He soon gains the potential to summon a Persona-the physical manifestation of his inner spirit, and joins the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad (S.E.E.S.), a group of like-minded Persona users. Together, they are tasked with defeating Shadows and uncovering the mystery of the Dark Hour.
A remake of Persona 3 was oft-requested by fans following the series' push towards global popularity thanks to Persona 5, as was officially acknowledged by Atlus themselves. Reload began development in 2019, while its production was first reported on in April 2023 ahead of the game's announcement in June 2023. Reload faithfully remakes the story of the original release of Persona 3, with various graphical and functional updates that bring the game in parity with the series' later installments. Shigenori Soejima oversaw updated character designs by Azusa Shimada with Atsushi Kitajoh writing new music, featuring tracks sung by Azumi Takahashi and Lotus Juice.
Persona 3 Reload retains its core hybrid of traditional role-playing and social simulation gameplay, but is overhauled aesthetically, graphically and mechanically to integrate systems and features that have been introduced to the Persona series since the original Persona 3's release, specifically deriving from quality-of-life improvements first implemented in Persona 5 (2016). In addition to foundational overhauls, Reload refines numerous elements of its graphical user interface to reflect the updated presentation of subsequent entries. For story-sensitive tasks, objective descriptions have been added below the display for the date, time of day and moon phase that list actions that must be performed to progress the narrative, which is functionally similar to Persona 5's heads-up display. The map display has also been improved in function and form over the original Persona 3, having been expanded in size in addition to depicting more intricacies about the surrounding environment, and now placing markers on important locations that need to be visited for story purposes, much like Persona 5's map.
New gameplay additions to the social simulation and role-playing portions of the game will be introduced in Reload. The Iwatodai Dorm where the main party resides outside classes has been expanded upon with multiple activities to perform beyond the original game. The protagonist is now able to strike individual conversations with every dorm resident, cook food with resuscitative abilities in the dorm's kitchen, garden and tend plants at the dorm's entrance by feeding them nutrients periodically, rent out films to watch using a DVD player, as well as borrow and read books provided to the dorm by the school. As with the corresponding in-house activities in Persona 4 and Persona 5, performing these tasks will strengthen each of the protagonist's Social Stats which can be used to later pursue specific interactions with Social Links. For example, reading books will increase the protagonist's Academics for school, while gardening yields the reward of the protagonist being able to learn new Tactics in battle.

I do like how, in this version of the game, they actually gave Yuka a real moment to get over her fear of pulling the trigger. Before, you entered the shadow world and she suddenly just was totally cool with it.

6:00 "What a Large clock doesn't seem to be working..."
Use to be the save checkpint in older versions of the game for taturus stuff

I just realized Kurosawa's VA is the voice for akihiko on the original P3, it feels weird hearing the two voices (also the new Akihiko VA is killing it)

So the reason mitsuru busts out the random french is because in the Japanese version she'll speak english to show that she's well educated. Obviously if they left it the same it wouldn't havr the same effect in the dub so they made it French

I think the actress voicing Mitsuru sounds A LOT like Sae Nijima from P5, so she definitely comes off as more early 30's than a high schooler. Haha

I guess it’s cuz Mitsuru is supposed to sound mature, but yeah it’s hard to strike a balance lol

Perhaps you figured it out but skill cards existed in P5R as well you may recall, you could find them in mementos and Yusuke could replicate them for you. Skill cards allow you to give a specific skill to any of your personas.

Like with P5, the store usually provides equipment in sets of 2, one item is a simple "increase the base stats" item (weapons do damage, armour protects, shoes evade) and the other is weaker in the base stats, but provides some other benefit. For example, Yukari's alternate bow (the Rainbow) increases her magic power, but has less damage and accuracy than the other bow available.
For Yukari that can be a good deal, as otherwise, getting a +1 magic increase from an accessory will cost 1000 yen, wheras getting the same from the bow happens when you buy the cheaper bow and it''s still doing more damage than the starter bow. The loss to accuracy (miss 1 in 20 vs 1 in 50) is only an issue if you were planning on attacking a lot with her but accuracy doesn't matter for her contribution to All-Out-Attacks.
Still, they give such a tiny amount of money to play with, even if you managed to get some decent drops from the tutorial fights.

44:36 and that's the original voice for Akihiko. Most new VAs are quite good, but Liam O'Brian will always be the true voice of Akihiko!

@32:25; It's supposed to be an indication that the person is smarter as I recall - in the original Japanese, it's Gratuitous English if I'm not mistaken, but since it's an English translation, they use French to indicate that instead.

@45:25; Yeah, they trimmed that down a bit in P4, and it carried over to P5..
As for @46:13, the stats from weapons do affect All-Out Attacks - as well as physical Persona attacks, as I recall, so it's usually worth upgrading them. I do also recommend taking a closer look at the Gladius option when you have the chance.

Also yeah they have controllable party members, p5 also defaulted to ai party members for some of the tutorial stuff. Honestly the ai party only was really cool once you got the hang of it and gave the og game a really unique identity. And the ai was better than the later games since they added party control they didn't feel the need to make the ai as good I guess

@13:29; I'm hoping they brought it forward, and they're just auto-commanding for the tutorial.
If they explicitly chose not to do that..."Fun" times are ahead. :p
