I made a whole series of inertia sanders like you have done with your home made pads. The adjustable ends were 3d printed and I made wooden handles. As I was getting to where I had enough of them it occurred to me that they could be double ended which would have been more efficient. I’m going to try laser cutting some dimpled disks so thanks for that tip.
Thank you kindly I do have experience, knowledge, and tools. However, my skill level needs a lot of work. I am usually in too much of a hurry it finish the task.
@@Grandpa-Dennis Not all the time I start at 320, but once I bought stronger readers and did final turning with a burr I could literally start sanding at 320.
Very very helpful. Looking forward to the next video. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Great information. I like to use the hand held sander for the finer grade sandpaper.
I am glad you found it useful. I will have to try the hand held one. Thanks for the tip.

That is an excellent idea, laser cutting some dimpled disks will be a great addition to the project!
Excellent you remind me of my grandpa
being old is something I am proud of..Thanks for watching

Very informative. Thanks for the info.
Glad it was helpful!
Your lathe looks interesting, are you going to make a video about it?
I see your tail stock hanging there😁
thanks for watching. I have done the filming on my custom
lathe and will edit and post it in Feb.
Great Job
Thanks for watching
Sweet!! I have both the Sioux and the Milwaukee angle drills like that, but neither have a keyless chuck. Did you swap your original keyed chuck?
Thanks for watching They came keyless. Call the company and they might have replacements.
Show us a video of making one of the manderls. Please
Thanks for watching.. good idea on another video.. some of my pads are getting long in the tooth so i'll try to make more soon.
Which tool did you use to cut the Velcro and foam when you mounted the sanding head in the lathe, a skew?
thanks for watching. A slew would work best and at high speed and slow feed it is surprising how well it cut
1/4" quick drive work even faster & better then the drill chuck.
yes it is faster but I found that extra connection creates a bit of wobble for the sanding pad.
Great tips. Thanks Gramps. 😂
thanks for watching Hope it was useful
Very much
I start sanding at 320.
thanks for watching. you are abetter turner than me. most of my work starts at 80 and for more difficult
ones I will go to 40 or 60.
