I paid 1200 for Travis sb dunks when they first released. I still haven’t wore them and the last sale was 2100 on stockx. Yea it’s expensive but it’s worth an investment that shoe will probably be 5k one day.

@@Renault-hp3cw not exactly. Dunks and air jordan 1s have a rubber cup sole, so they are less likely to crumble. The midsole is also stitched to the upper so it is less likely there will be sole separation. Jordan 2 through 8 have a foam midsole with an air bag unit. When not worn for a long period of time the air inside the midsole starts to rot and that’s why the sole on those shoes crumble. That’s why you see older dunks are still wearable. But something like an old air max that has foam midsole will crumble after 20 years.

I collect sneakers, I'm just fortunate enough that the sneakers I like and collect aren't highly sought after. Once they become that way, then I'll be pissed off......but as of right now, they aren't, and I'm thankful for that :)

The byproduct of what’s going on is consumers are showing that we’d rather be marketed to, instead of managing our own slice of culture. We’d rather let the big businesses win with design & execution. Shoe customizers take a detrimental L -and once again sneaker culture buys into big business which in turn never returns the love.
Imagine if this shoe had the original fragment colour blocking and then some travis customisation would be mental.
Nah these would still be more hype because this colorway is based off of a 1985 unreleased sample royal Jordan 1, it’s something most people have never seen in person that right there alone drives the hypebeast’s hype meter through the roof

What makes an early pair a legit pair? Whats the difference between those and early reps? What decides if they are legit or not?
Nothing. Most people who get shoes “early for release” are actually wearing UAs or Replicas. Replica shoes come out way before a legit shoe comes out. This guy was saying he has a legitimate sample pair, no he don’t. The black lettering is one the wrong side and the toe box is looking too bulky. Mans was getting away with selling fakes.
