I work for deliveroo. The other day at a restaurant I was offered a glass of ice water while waiting for an order. I accepted gratefully. The waitress gave it to me in a jam jar. I thought of this song, and laughed so hard I nearly inhaled an ice cube.
True Story:- Several years ago a work colleague and i were taken to a restaurant for lunch by a client. It was a "trendy eatery" kind of place on the waterfront in a popular English resort down south (i'm not saying where). We sat at the wooden bench table and the guy told us we were "about to be amazed" we all ordered fish and chips which came highly recommended. The waiter duly arrived and began to serve our food... directly onto the table... no plates, no slates, no ornamental shovel, just fish and chips directly onto the table surface. we both started laughing and the client said "its great isn't it? no pretence, no fuss, just your food" I managed to stop laughing long enough to tell him how pleased I was that I hadn't ordered the soup
I don't eat out very often, but I have finally been able to link to this song in a review for a cafe that served my chicken burger on a big piece of slate. So happy!
