I've pondered the entire meaning of my life, listening to Point/Counterpoint, and Vista Grande. I've talked to God through some of Steve's music. Not being melodramatic fellas.

Eff me he just killed it, as usual. Dregs, Purple, Flying Colours, even toured with Di Meola, Paco and John and was not out of place at all killing it acoustically. I know to players like me he's not underrated but I still feel not enough people know how diverse and great he really is.

Not underrated, but underappreciated. More should know of him.

Diversity, is what i'm always striving to when it comes to playing guitar in general, be that orthodoux technique and it's theoretically foundations, or out off the box ideas as well. Steve Morse is a great example of how much fun it is to learn about playing guitar if guitar is your thing. Dixie Dregs is quite an awesome group. Steve Morse band has many great tracks and their musicianship, although i like more wild players and i find em on the sloppy style, while pristine is really entertaining as much as it is educational. To shut My ears and brush this band aside from My musical experiences, would ve felt like shooting My own foot. Steve Morse s music is that dependable.

And came back after a hand injury/disease. If his wrist was the same as it was... but that's not the point. The songwriting is. No one can get even close. His brain is awkwardly wired.

Montreux 1978 live. Songs not on the Living Dregs album. The band was awesome. Out of this world. Still.

They raised the bar, SO HIGH!!!
As much as we loved them back in the day, these guys made a lot of us consider cutting up our axes & kits for firewood.
Damned near 50 years later, “Often imitated. Seldom achieved.”

Just amazing. Love Steve Morse's compositions. He's the Bach of our time.

Bingo, too many focus on his playing instead of the compositions themselves which are unmatched in out time...

'tis nice to think when all the pretty boy hair metal was around in the 80s, music like this was there to counteract the audio rot.

Sings are " The Introduction" , "Twiggs Approved", "Tumeni Notes, "Point Counterpoint" (untitled as of this performance)" and "Cruise Missile". Twiggs Lyndon, former Allman Bros road manager, was the Dregs' road manager until he died in a skydiving accident. He was apparently a bit of a loose cannon and spent time in prison for killing a nightclub manager who was trying to stiff the Dregs out of their payment .

This must be a very early gig for this band - the only song written for this band was Point Counterpoint, and it is unnamed here. Very nice.

I saw the Morse/LaRue/Romaine lineup maybe ten times but I don't remember hearing a version of "Twiggs Approved" from them. Early indeed. Quite a treat.

Cool! I've been to the Bottom Line just once, to see the Richard Thompson Band, some time around 1990-91 I think. What year was this recorded? (and before I forget: *FIRST*!)
