that older guy in the front row is my life goals
I found this band on a 6 hour NPR tiny desk bender and I literally have not listened to another artist in 4 days
I have just arrived in a similar boat. If you catch my drift.
I discovered them in their tiny desk concert 7 months ago and have listened to them at least for 3 hours every day since. Moon Hooch has made 2020 bearable. Without them I never would have made it lol
I discovered them through the video where they showed off some weird sax techniques.
I'm a total newbie here and a couple minutes in, this is flippin' awesome. I'm glad my circuitous route of clicks following "Hmmm, what's this? Looks interesting." brought me here. I started off watching lespecial do a cover of "Those Damn Blue Collar Tweakers", found some other cool stuff including a band named "Funk N Bowl" in the channel that posted the lespecial video and then a few clicks later, this. A total surprise and so unique and deliciously "weird". Right up my alley! This is getting bookmarked immediately. Woohoo! 😉😁👍
I have seen them twice live. If you like it on RUclips you would really love it with the thunder that comes with a live show! When all of this COVID shit is over I hope they come around my area again.
I just had the most life altering 1 hour and 30 minute shower
That old dude in the front is their old high school Sax teacher.
Mr. Daniels is FEELIN it!
I really hope you aren’t bullshitting us haha
Just wish Mr. Daniels would share some of those mushrooms 😃
is this true? hahah sure looks like one
He was high on SAX!

Honestly SAME
@@user-jr2vh3mp3e sounds like a good time
I see him all the time there, at higher ground!
This is drummer is a machine! Amazing
Holy shit. I go looking for sax echos and I find Moon playing into a street cone, in a library in a fashion store, to plants, to dogs and geese, into ceiling gables, in a very cold room with a baritone player, an exceptional drummer and now here... I'm having sax orgasms. You're insane, you're funny, you're creative, you're talented and you're never out of breath! I'm impressed. Two thumbs up and two toes up.

The guy in the front is my spirit animal.
WE CAN'T STOP DANCING!!! LOVE WHAT YOUR DOING!!!
what a sick show!!! and I'm so entertained by the dude in the front row jammin out lol
Came to comments to love the bald dude in the front, see his praises are already being sung. You beautiful sunflowers!! Keep giving no fucks and DANCING YOUR HEART OUT
That old dude has me crying 😭
I've waited my whole life to see someone bring down a house with a contrabass
That is some kickass lighting!
I stayed this whole hour for the old man in the front
came for the funk, stayed for the wisdom
i feel like who ever does the mixing for the lives tracks does a better job than the studio versions. this sounds more natural and full. neither are bad but the live guy is great at his job
Agreed
Just heard them on JetLag 2022. Oh my! Highlight of this trip. I am in love
Can't wait for you to be back next month!
Great to hear the wonderful bass sax playing a star role, and also a new lease of life for the little-used contrabass clarinet in its paperclip configuration. Must take massive stamina to play like this with almost no breaks. Just discovered Moon Hooch and was earlier listening to Too Many Zooz and Lucky Chops. Good to hear these inventive, talented young performers. It's not exactly my cup of tea, but it is certainly different and highly skilled playing. Hard to categorise it really, which is probably a good thing.
man, I am SO hyped for y’alls new album
I was there! Excelent show! Thanks for uploading this
I was there! Can’t wait to see them again this April
Saw these guys at Some Kind of Jam this past weekend, what an incredible experience!! 🙌
This is a great show and really good representation of what to expect when you see them live. Love the lights! Saw you guys for the first time in Ithaca, NY a few months back and was blown away. Didn't know what to expect, and was thoroughly impressed. You've got a new fan. Keep it real!
You are still my number 1 band i want to see live. Great music
judging by your name, you missed them in Germany last year - I've seen them live in Stuttgart and it's 100x better than watching a clip or listening on spotify!
Lon3000 Yes sadly Stuttgart is almost a 7 hour drive. I make sure I‘ll see them the next chance i have.
These brothers just came through Spokane and rocked the house!! I briefly listened to the NPR tiny desk and knew instantly I did not want to miss this show! So good! So original! So Much FUN!!!
you guys really know what you're doing. Congratulations for such a good song
they truly paint with notes, awesome :D
My favourite part of the set has always been the build into St Louis through to the end of Tubes! Never gets old! I reckon it could go anywhere in the set and still work. :)
Also hope your Tenor was OK after the fall at the end of tubes Mike!
Guys, you are awesome!
U guys are on FIRE!!❤❤❤
Cool music
1st time I went to see them I got a little stuck in my tent and the 2nd time I was driver. 3rd time will be the charm! Haha
I love Moon Hooch....my teenage son hooked me up with them....and I've not looked back. :)
Closest thing I can find to Morphine (the band?) out there. Mark Sandman would be proud.
yes! a band to fill all my music needs. after moon hooch i need to listen to no one but leo p.
dude whoever filmed and then mixed this video is amazing
Cant wait to see them in Austin!
they were fiyahhhhh
drums are sounding great here
Coming back to Burlington in 5 days! I missed this show but sure as shit ain't missing this next one! See ya soon!
This is cool to see. These dudes from back east played the janky ole Sierra Music Festival in Quincy, CA, in 2011? Had the privilege to see them & it was a show stopper
Just found out about this. OMG!
Just saw these guys in Harmony, Maine last night. Quite honestly the best live performance I've ever seen in all my years. Their energy is unmatched and the way they put it all together and continuously change and alter their instruments is insane! 100% my new favorite musicians!!! 10/10 would highly recommend seeing live if you get the opportunity!!!!
I hope they come back to maine this year, i just found about them. Would love to see them at harmony or harry's hill or The Land in North Anson.
Yes! I will see you guys in LA on May 15th! You played in Erie for my friend Bobby Jenson at Basement Transmission, the live recording sounds like you guys sound even better live!!!
This is so fucking good man
SUPER!!!
I wish I had this degree of skill on some instrument and two friends to do this with me. This is awesome I hope I can see and hear it live one day.
They are on tour!!!!!
@@kirkgarrett7649 but never close enough for me to go☹️

Ever since my sister brought me to a show of yours at an intimate little bar in Albany 6 years ago, you have changed my life. You keep my uplifted. That was the first night my fiancé and I had been clean from pills. We thought the night was gonna be bland, but it was instead the night I would never forget. So much dancing and sweating and touching with the whole crowd. You blanketed us with your creation and none of us will be the same after experiencing you. P.s. Ethan will always be my husband in my dreams.
Forgot to mention we are still clean. Alarm clock was literally my alarm clock for years.
At the Hollow in Albany Nov 4, 2023!!! See you there! 🙂

first song is called nonphysical. Good shit

EWI WENT HARD💯 I played this at work and started throwing around one of my mates at the breakdown
20:48 Moon Hooch was a covid discovery. Finally saw them live last night in Canandaigua, NY and they were AMAZING!!! Go, go, go!!! The live show is fantastic!
Was at that show too, with my kids. We had a great time!
11:02 could this be my favorite part so early in the vid?
love the middle aged man just jamming out
1:02:23 the build-up to red sky is AMAZING!!!!! My favorite part of the whole concert!!!!!
10:56 John Malkovich getting his mind blown in the front row.
It's really difficult to work remote when you're headbanging the whole time.
Love it! When are you coming to France ?!!
Hey Moon Hooch! I saw y'all at the One Eyed Jacks in New Orleans earlier this year! I love that you guys self record and mix everything. What I'd love to see in the future would be some crowd mics to capture the ambiance and audience. A pair of Rode M5 small diaphragm condenser mics runs $200 for a matched pair and it would make all the difference in your live recordings. Just place one on each side of the stage pointed at the audience! (Just remember to not put those mics into front of house, or you'll have lots of feedback.) They also make excellent additions to your in-ear monitor mixes, so they're not so dry. Having one ear in and one out is actually the quickest way to lose your hearing, because the natural clenching of the ear canal (which helps protect your hearing in loud environments) doesn't happen with the off-balance of soft and loud. Crowd mics can solve this issue.
Very good crowd! - no filming smartphones :)
Galaxmul ok boomer
Less then 24 hours from now, with Too Many Zooz! MoonZooz Lives!
What is the name of the song at 51:38 ? I've listened to that song the first time when you guys played at Toronto but I can't find any info about that song.
they haven't given it a name yet, it's new
Whatever it's called, it has become one of my favorites!
Too much hooch
Candlelight, they just released it as a single
Hi there...at 28:10...what is the name of the effect please....desperatelly trying to find something like that but with no solution :D...wanna buy a pedal with that effect...is it LO FI or something like that?
it sounds just like a bandpass. so the high and the low frequencies are cut out and the mids are boosted a little bit
Come to Hungary

How is that sick loop-shaped saxophone called he starts playing at around 10 min.? And where can I buy it?
That's a "paperclip" contrabass clarinet. I've never seen one in real life, only in pictures and youtube videos.
