I believe that Bailey do build a good caravan. However I wish they would come clean as to the growing issue with the AL-KO axle failure problem that many owners are expressing.
I live in New Zealand and at the moment it's probably easier to find a gold plated toilet than it is to find a Bailey dealer with any stock. The local dealers can't even place an order at the moment and if they were able to order next year the earliest we'd see it was end of 2022. We didn't want to wait. Luckily yesterday I found a dealer in Palmerston North that had a 2021 Phoenix+ 640 that had just arrived on their yard, and we brought it on the spot. Currently have a 2011 Bailey Unicorn Valencia which we love, but the Island bed just doesn't work for us. The 640 has everything we need, we are just adding solar and an external 240v plug. A tower fridge would be the only thing I'd add if it was possible, but with the external 240v plug we have a small portable fridge in the awning to keep the beers cold. Looking forward to heading away in our new van over the Christmas summer holidays.
We have brought the 644 Phoenix we love it got everything we need the only down side that no one has mentioned is it does NOT come with the Alko lock nor is it going to just think needs to be mentioned as we had to change our insurance company etc ? WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT IT ?
Lets hope Bailey have sorted out the seat foam in the new vans and they have also sorted out the Alko axle problems. I do not believe all that have had problems have overloaded. Also an axle should be able to take some potholes without causing damage.
Hi, can you please confirm the 2022 Phoenix 640 model now has a dual use door from hallway also acting as a toilet door? this is not seen in any of the videos I can see online however the new brochure appears to show this...
Hi Alan I wasn't sure so I emailed Bailey for clarification. This is their response: 'The front door into the washroom on the Phoenix+ 640 is not dual use, in that it does not shut off the toilet compartment when in the open position. This design feature is present in the new Unicorn Series 5 and Alicanto Grande Series 2 ranges but not in the earlier Phoenix+ and Pegasus Grande SE models.' Hope this helps, Lee
I know what you mean, although the Cadiz tends to have more kit than our own Phoenix. There are lots of upgrades between the models when viewed back-to-back
We want to look at a 640,but when we contacted a dealer, he said they wouldn't be having one in until end of October or beginning of November, so hopefully you'll be out of lock down by the time comes to view what model you want.
Hope the build quality has improved we’ve a Pegasus Grande Bologna 2019 with lights that don’t work and panel’s that are loose and Bailey don’t seem to care dealers not very helpful no reply from Bailey
Standards across the dealer network can vary, which isn’t how it should be. If it was me, I’d email Bailey and ask if they can recommend someone else who can carry out warranty repairs. Hope that helps
Hi you say on the video and on the Bailey live launch that the 642 has a MTPLM of under 1400kg but on the released spec it’s over by a few KGs. Can you confirm the MTPLM please?
There's no on board water tank.. except the hot water tank, It's pumped directly into the caravan from either mains or water carrier. The battery box on last year's Phoenix was under the floor by the door, and I assume its the same for 2021.
Caravans are so advanced now to what they were when I used to go on holidays with my parents in the 1970s and early 1980s! Mind boggling! 😲

Glad you finally found one. Stock is also limited in the UK with caravans selling before being advertised. Have a great time
I love the Bailey 644 plus well done Bailey, am ordering a new one on March 29th
Enjoy! Have you planned your first trip?

Ooh I do like the 440😍

It's not just Bailey who use Alko axles. Other caravan manufacturer's use the same Alko axles and use the same foam seating.

I do like the gray sides too
Me too. I've always liked them
@@TinTent I think that they stand out more
I can’t understand, how all the Phoenixes are 5k cheaper, than our 2020 Cadiz Black Edition🤔

We would love to view the 420 but cannot find one in dealers. We are in local lockdown 6 pm tonight so no chance of travelling 😢🤷♀️

Great reviews, Thanks
Thanks for review, no mention of how many USB,s or sockets 12v / 240 . Has the cooker a hot plate ?
Not sure about you USB query, but I believe the cooker has 3 gas rings and 1 electrics hot plate.

Where is the tank for the water and where do you store an auxiliary battery?
There's no on board water tank.. except the hot water tank, It's pumped directly into the caravan from either mains or water carrier. The battery box on last year's Phoenix was under the floor by the door, and I assume its the same for 2021.
Prefer the upholstery and lighter wood.. will shall see what the boss thinks
Good luck! 👍
All the negative comments are from FOLK who can’t afford a bailey....
Don’t need to be told what a bed or toilet is. Who puts concertina doors at the end of a bed, crazy.
