Marcelito Pomoy is Filipino and has an AMAZING backstory. He is self-taught -- his Dad was incarcerated when Marcelito was young and Marcelito's mom abandoned both him and his younger sibling when he was only 2. He was adopted by a police officer, but he was a virtual orphan and lived on the streets from 8 years old on and only made it through 3rd grade in school. He started singing when he was 7, but didn't realize until he was 18 that he could do both male and female voices He doesn't speak English nor Italian fluently (which makes his "The Prayer" below even more amazing!). He was the Grand Winner of the 2nd season of Philippines Got Talent. He was also recently on America‘s Got Talent The Champions and blew even more people away with his amazing talent What’s even more impressive is that he never had any voice training at all. It’s just from singing all the time to keep his spirits up. Obviously, Celine Dion is one of his heroes. There is a RUclips video of him singing on the Ellen DeGeneres show… And she then gives him the gift of getting to meet his hero and see her in concert.

Schnell, not only singing perfectly in two different voices but in two languages, neither of which is Marcelito's first language. All done casually, while sitting down. He has stunning talent. Take another trip back to Northern Europe and check out Eivor Palsdottir (From the Faroe Islands), "Trodlabundin" filmed on a farm by a fjord in Norway. It is both vocally and visually stunning.

By now probability you've known Marcelito Pomoy 's sad sad childhood life.His father was in prison when he was barely a toddler. Her mother abandoned him together with a younger sibling when he was 7yrs old. Lived and slept on the street and eating peoples leftover. He worked in poultry and piggery and pin boy.He will sing when he was lonely, afraid and in despair. An elder sister encouraged hin to join the Philippines Got Talent in 2011and won.Then joined America Got Talent and landed 4th place though he got 51% of the audience vote. Add to that fact that he doesn’t speak either of those languages, he remembers the songs phonetically then add the fact that he had no lessons in singing, it’s all self taught! Not a bad effort for an orphan, his mother left them when he was about three and then his father was arrested and jailed and since no-one wanted to help him he lived in the jail with his father until one of the prison guards adopted him around four or five. He went to school up to the third grade when he ran away, he left because the cops family treated him as a slave. He then lived on the streets scavenging food scraps from waste bins etc, he did any jobs he could get and he used to watch the singers at night clubs through the windows and copied them. Celine Dion was his favorite singer, and while working on a poultry farm he would sing and by chance he discovered his ability to copy and sing like Celine or any woman. Finally at about 27yo he entered Philippines Got Talent which he won, this seriously changed his life for the better, he rediscovered his family and met his wife. He entered America’s Got Talent where he finally placed fourth after one of the most controversial outcomes of all time, I dare say you could still find most of it on line if you’re interested. However in spite of everything he’s is still a well mannered humble individual (look into his charity work since Covid ).

I wouldn't be a proper angel if I didn't mention Marcelito bested Angelina on America's Got Talent The Champions. It is all good though since it is not about comparing one artist to another but rather finding artists who capture our heart. Hopefully next week you will expand your Angelina playlist.
I think this special voice he owns is a gift from God, knowing how difficult his struggle while he's young and to be able to survive he needs to sing as its the only way to live and make some money. Great reaction and you're one of the many reactors that were blewn away by his unique voice.👌 😀 🇵🇭

He's doing Italian phonetically, and yet some native Italian speakers say he's just as understandable as Bocelli. For that matter, he's not that comfortable in conversational English. He's just kinda repeating what he heard on the radio/TV. Perhaps he's a Savant. Plus, he did this sitting down, sacrificing maybe 30% of his lung capacity.
I think you’re right that he’s a Savant. He hasn’t taken singing lessons with a vocal coach. He used to do this kind of performance on the streets (he used to be a homeless hobo) just so he could eat.
Marcelito makes it easy because he can. He is a singing angel on earth. For me, this is his absolute masterpiece, something of crystal clear sung, the bright madness. I can't really think of a second person who can do it better.

His being is phenomenal likewise coz how can a person who only reach grade 2 i gather because of poverty. no formal musical education. had family troubled life background. can barely construct english sentence. and yet so excellent in singing. His that phenomenal. his reaping greatness and "mullah". at the moment. besides being humble he is sharing his blessings to everyone in need here Ph. that's why he is so love back...wonderful reaction by the way. It's an amazing thing when you can function in both hemispheres of your crown as male/female from your heart sacred center to ground ! And when you can do this, you can emote your male/female of your crown, giving all a super star performance
He's the world's greatest mimic. He's doing his impersonations of Celine Dion and Andrea Bocceli, and if that means he has to be a stunningly great soprano and tenor, well, that's what he does. For the art.

Schnell, He grew up with a hard life when he was young and he had zero voice lessons. You forgot to mention doing Italian & English. He has an album of songs with 2 voices. Now you should react to him sing Power Of Love which is a Celine Dion only song as well as his duet with Morissette at the 107.5 Wishbus Music Awards singing Secret Love Song. It needs to be the video that starts with showing the outside of the building because the others are poor quality fancam videos.

His being is phenomenal likewise coz how can a person who only reach grade 2 i gather because of poverty. no formal musical education. had family troubled life background. can barely construct english sentence. and yet so excellent in singing. Schnell, He grew up with a hard life when he was young and he had zero voice lessons. You forgot to mention doing Italian & English. He has an album of songs with 2 voices. Now you should react to him sing Power Of Love which is a Celine Dion only song as well as his duet with Morissette at the 107.5 Wishbus Music Awards singing Secret Love Song. It needs to be the video that starts with showing the outside of the building because the others are poor quality fancam videos.
