I used to listen to Lauren with my mom. My mom was my best friend. My everything. She died last March at only 50. Everything I am, I owe to her. To know me, you would have to know her. She has left fingerprints on me that will never fade. I am crying listening to this. I never imagined I’d be listening to Lauren without her. But life changes so fast. And as she says, the more you love the more you have to lose.

Mom died last year. Every so often, a memory of her comes to mind and I share them with my 24 yo daughter. We were too busy making new memories together for me to reminisce when she was alive. But, now my daughter gets to enjoy the gems that rise to the surface.

I just lost my very best friend of 45 years, 2 days ago (7/17/24). We met in 8th grade and immediately hit it off. We had the privilege of seeing Lauren in Knoxville back in December. I fell in love with this song, and it suits Robin and my friendship. I have to learn to live my life without my very best friend. Thank you, Lauren, for such a beautiful song. I asked her kids if I could have this song played at her celebration of life this coming Sunday (7/21/24) and they said it would be perfect.

If not for the fact that we all have a friend Jesus, this could be a very sad song… but I can rejoice while shedding some tears knowing and believing Jesus Christ’s sacrifice at the Cross on our behalf allows us a reunion with Him Heaven with our saved loved ones. But He gave us such treasures, like memories, a bird singing, a sunset, sunrise, signs, that we are not alone and our friend is still with us but happy they are with our Father. We have fingerprints on us from every loved one we have lost. Life goes by in a blink of an eye. We need to treasure every moment whether good or bad because life is a blessing and can be gone in just the same moment. I miss my friends that are gone so much but blessed they left their fingerprints on me and they are with Jesus, my Friend.

Well I didn’t see that coming -immediate tears .. in the last 5 years I have lost everyone - the love of my life - my best friends - two of them and numerous other friends and most recently my mom in February. Seems like I went from 40 to sixty six in heart beat if you will . I am definitely a person that Carries around my forever friends around with me as they are all gone .
