I'm not even done with the video yet but I can tell a lot of care was put into this video. The custom subtitles are great and showing what music playing is a nice touch.
Great video, very well constructed! I was routing this as well for NMG and I thought you might be interested in some enemy saves I found. If you hit all three enemies in the false knight room the moment the fight starts, the enemies will have invincibility from your slash and won't die. It's really tricky to set up properly but I've done it once or twice. As you pointed out, stallball can be used to skip hornet, the baldur, the second elder baldur, and the moss knight (patch 1.4.3.2+). There are explogo variants in current patch with just fireball or just dash, the shade skip there is a cakewalk in comparison but it's good to know. There's a skip you can do to kill the baldur without vengeful spirit. It's normally TAS only but it turns out it's (barely) humanly possible with a shade. This skip lets you skip aspid arena and the vengeful spirit elder baldur, saving 4 kills, but sadly in this route there's no choice but to kill the elder baldur, the moss knight, hornet, and both shroomal ogers, so it actually loses kills overall. It is still useful in the very specific circumstance that you're allowing 1.2.2.1 in NMG to skip the great husk sentry, so stallball isn't an option, and like me you allow killing hornet because she doesn't actually die from the fight. (not to mention the insane skill required for the skip, which I have, but only in current patch). It might also save kills in your "some major glitches" run but I don't know a lot about glitches so I can't tell. Not important but I managed to get that crystal peak shade skip to work in some or other low% thing. It might require killing the shade, I don't remember. Nice job with that last devout skip, I was routing in late dash and shade cloak for that.
@cuberomer I didn't even think of trying to give the husks I-frames to dodge false knight that's genius. I hope false knight's other attacks don't hurt them though because it sounds impossible to keep them alive if they do. I only found out about stallball at the end of making the video and I really didn't have the heart to learn it and redo a lot of the video. I don't think the item less elder baldur could save any kills in the 'some major glitches' run. You could get into Greenpath and maybe into fungal wastes from there but you couldn't get claw without killing the shrumal ogres. That's already 3 kills so you aren't saving anything over killing the aspids and using float to get into fungal wastes You can always increase the shade's health with mask shards so unless the shade dies to spikes (I think those are instakills) you might be able to do that shade skip you mentioned without it dying
@@p055am They don't take damage from false knights attacks, the rest of the fight is pretty easy. It was more of an accidental discovery from a few false knight fights I did, the enemies surviving was a bit annoying but eventually I figured out what was happening. If by some miracle you manage to get float, (maybe with greenpath grubs), you could maybe try going through deepnest without claw, the only other option I can think of would be to go into crystal peaks through the elevator, but I don't know how realistic that is and sadly it does not lead to claw v2 so it's not too helpful.

That first forced kill section feels like a direct reference to the infamous Hotaru murdering room at the end of Sonic the Hedgehog CD lol (I mean, even the Aspid Hunters look similar to Hotaru, which makes it even more ironic).
Spectacular video, well edited and commented with full captions? Earned a sub (Also it’s possible to do a glitch to kill the elder Baldur blocking greenpath with one vengeful spirit meaning you can spare one of the mini baldurs)
I think I’ve also seen it proven that you can do that elder balder itemless with just the nail, with some super precise setup involving getting hit by his projectile and some frame perfect type stuff… not 100% sure though.
@@DavidCornell1 That is practically tas only as you have to manage to do it four+ times practically in a row, and it also requires fury. (although that isn't an impediment)
@arctic5093 I just looked up another (more recent) version which shows doing something similar but with a shade that is supposedly much more human viable. But I haven’t done it myself so who am I to say…
@arctic5093 pretty sure some players can do it consistently, but you can probably count em with a hand its insanely hard to do it even with the long nail
actually such an insanely well made video, by gameplay, storytelling and editing :) kind of crazy your subs are barely triple digits, you deserve way mire
I actually did the first run myself and came to the same total. Only difference is that I didn't count Hornet, nor would I have any other boss that survives. I did also try to get everything I could get to without killing, which let to a few interesting discoveries: - Can't get to lower mantis village. There is a mantis standing on the door, who dies if you open it. Too bad, since the Lords is one of the few bosses you don't kill. - There is a room in Ancient Basin that contains a creeper that walks right into spikes as you enter. - You can actually get King's Brand and Shade Cloak. Helps a lot in Beast's Den. - The top of Kingdom's Edge is blocked off by explody birds. - I managed to reach 44% completion. Possible I missed a few percentages, like useless charms I could have bought.
I think you can skip the great husk before watcher knights by hitting a lever through the wall and then walking through the dark to the watcher knights room from the top instead of the bottom! Great video!
hope the algorithm does you well because this was a very well edited video especially for such a small creator, you even bothered to add CC. keep up the good work
hey man, youre pretty cool. i hope you had as much fun playing this challenge as i have watching your video. best of luck to you in your future endeavors, and i wish you a good life ❤
There is a way with less kills in NMG. You can skip fireball, instead of False Knight go kill Gruz Mother, then save and quit to not kill children, they will just disappear. Save Sly, die to shade skip to Salubra, u dont need to kill shade here, buy Long Nail. Then you can access Greenpath throw Long nail skip, kill Moss Knight and Hornet and get Claw easily. Also we can talk about lever skip in the Watcher's Spire. I think we can use 1.2.2.1 as main patch, just dont use major glitches, since there are major glitches even in current patch. SO total number would be all necessary enemies: 3 aspids, 5 watcher's knights, Uumuu and THK + 1 baldur, 1 moss knight, Gruz Mother and Hornet, total is 14
I'm actually attempting a similar run myself, except Godhome ending! I'm being more lenient with myself, in that if someone dies on accident, or gets in my way with no way out, they die. It's... Very annoying to take the hits, and I have died SO many times.
Is it rando only to hit the switch through the floor in the Spire? Because this matter enemy was surprising to me, but I run rando, so that might explain.
