Ridiculously sad. I can't believe whats happened to him. Way too young . Rip the goalie.
@@iangarner8857Not all that young
@@John-tz2tx 58 isn't that old though . My dad was 67 and I think whilst it is a life , it's still not mega old. I was reading the other night that the average lifespan of a man in the UK is 81 now.
This interview will be treasured forever more. God speed
I'm a Rangers fan. My Celtic mates told me that when Andy Goram played for Rangers they considered him the best keeper in the world. He broke their hearts so often making impossible saves. High praise indeed.
It's true mate i can remember 9 in a row and Andy Goram was unbelievable, the saves he made astonishing we just couldn't get much passed him at all.
@@kevinmcgowan1620 I take it you're a Celtic fan, I'm from Belfast and I worked with guys from the Falls Road, Andersonstown, every Republican area you can imagine and some you've never heard of and they all said, every one, that Andy Goram was the best goalie in the world. I was absolutely gob-smacked when I first heard it said out loud. They hated him but also respected him. A bit like us with DiCanio, Van Hooijdonk, Jimmie Johnston.
RIP Andy Celtic man here you where some keeper bud 💚💙
Andy the gaffer and Tommy are together. What a heaven to be in.
First time watching this since Andy passed away Rest well goalie ☹️💙🔴⚪🔵🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
He’s the best goal keeper Iv seen in my 40years. From a Hibs fan.!
One of the best football podcasts I've saw .well done james English.... as a celtic man I love to hear all the stories between the clubs and I have to say Andy gorum came across an absolute gentleman 👏.. an honest open and tremendous podcast .. RIP Andy... 🙏
First time av heard Andy speak and as a celtic fan what a guy just loved his club like we love ours🇮🇪🏴🇬🇧
Out and out legend, played hard, lived hard! RIP big man
Great keeper, great wit, I knew Andy was dying but my heart still dropped when I heard the news, he broke many a Celtic heart playing he saved us on numerous occasions and I was sad when he was moved out of rangers he could have been a great coach for the young lads coming through
😢 RIP Andy Goram. 1964-2022

Yes his achievements are immortal. Pissed me off a lot, as a green, but what a Goalie!!! He was awesome!
@@oisinmccool3019 respect 👏
Best Goal Keeper the Scottish League has ever seen. We would never have won Nine in a row with out the The Goalie. Parkhead and even pittodrie we would get battered for 90 mins and he would make save after save and bang we would go up the over end and bang one in. The Battle of Britain he was just insane in these matches.
RIP ANDY GORAM, but Leighton, Gordon, Cruickshank, Mcgregor, sure I've forgotten more, soz. No dog in this fight but Hatley also said Goram was Scottish only world class keeper....
Ć, MON
Had the pleasure of meeting Andy Goram at a charity do once. He was surprisingly down to earth, and VERY funny.
JacobiteBhoy 👍🏼
As an Oldham fan we had the pleasure of watching his career take off.Great player for Latics and was gutted to see him leave for hibs at the time.Bumped into him on Nissi beach in 1993 while on a lads holiday. I spotted him and shouted him over, when he knew we were all from Oldham he said he wanted to come for a booze with us but couldn't coz he was with the wife and in laws .Great podcast.
A pleasure to revisit this tonight. RIP Andy.
I remember going to Parkhead. Celtic dominated. 2 things stick in my mind. Goram's saves were immense was the first thing. The second was a moment of magic by Laudrup. I was impressed even as a Celtic fan.
Andy goram what a warrior ,great keeper ,lovely man wish I played in his team's ,rip brother . Watp xx
Andy Goram what a player , my hero growing up
Same as me mate he made me want to be a goalie still got a signed photo of him in my bedroom on my wall the wife fucking hates it but won't take it down because she knows she'll get fucked out before rangers lol
Respect bro xxxx
Same here , rem having yellow jersey on between the sticks , playing for B.B the Battle of Britain game , unreal
RIP Andy, great keeper. Legend of the game for me
Great keeper for Hibs and rangers so sad for the loss of a legend god bless you Andy xx
Love the 50% Lancastrian/50% Glaswegian accent. RIP Andy Goram 🙏
Great interview. I met Andy at the petrol station near Ibrox and asked him if it was true about Gazza coming to Rangers and he said it was true but said if he ends up injured or on the treatment table it would be a bad signing but 20/30 games a season he’d be a world beater .
Best keeper ever at Oldham also great cricketer rest in peace
as a celtic man, I remember the save Andy Goram made against Leeds utd from cantona unbelievable then booted the ball up for hateley to score
Hes a legend ,and came across as a decent guy Great guest JE
Rip Andy you were great for Hibs and your a legend god bless. You and your family you'll be missed by all the fans from Scotland and England rip Andy x
Rip goalie.. Total Legend.. Love from oldham athletic fc
Absolute outstanding goalie. Even though I'm a Celtic fan. James your podcasts are addictive , fantastic interviewer and you never talk over them.
Superb interview, absolute top-notch keeper. Right up there with Neville Southall. We had Andy on loan at Coventry City at the end of his career, Top Man!
Watching this 2 years after it was filmed and hearing the stories about the gaffer are great. They reinforce what a great guy he was, Andy was a legend for us as well.
I wrote this comment about 10 minutes from the end, James condolences for your loss pal, had a few tears in my eyes at end for someone you loved and I never knew. All the best.
@@euanfox9734 can u tell me who sing the song at the end and the name of it please
Celtic man here,.
Great goalie,.. andy only did his best and he did it very well, broken my heart a few million times 😂 But I take my hat off,. God bless you andy and all you love pal, 👍🏻
What a man what a story, great loss to his family and friends 💔
Best keeper Oldham ever had thanks for the memories Andy blue army..
Broke my heart more times than I care to remember ..Andy won them quite a few titles.
Absolute legend 🏴🇬🇧
This guy was ma hero growing up and hearing him tell gerrard to get his boots on makes me smile because i've been saying all season i think he will
Met Andy years ago and he was so witty and full of laughs great goalkeeper
I used to go Celtic park regularly during the 90’s and saw him pull off quite a few awesome, not to say heartbreaking from a personal point of view, performances. Putting the rivalry aside, my thoughts and sympathies with all those close to Andy Goram. It’s always a tragedy when anyone is taken far to soon. May he RIP and again, my thoughts with friends, family and all who knew him
Celtic fan who grew up hating Goram. But he was a quality keeper and a good pro and decent guy. Sad to hear hes going to lose his fight with cancer but he will leave a legacy
Another outstanding podcast James. As a diehard bluenose it was a great insight into a great ranger , I'll never forget the save from van hoijdonk I was there as a 13 yr old in total awe of the man great memories
stuart mccrimmon 👍🏼😀
Great stuff James - I've met Andy a couple of times and he is a complete gentleman as well as a legend. Always has time for the fans
That's a beautiful tribute to your young Uncle. He fitted a lot in to a young life. Cherish your memories till Yous* meet again!
Great interview man, you give him the confidence to let it flow
Stumbled over these podcasts and so glad i did, top guests, and James seems a proper decent lad, nice one keep them coming,Nick from Newcastle and a big Rangers fan.
Cheers nick and welcome 👍🏼
I didn't know you but listening to this on this day you seem to be a very interesting guy. You were the best goalkeeper I have ever seen. To those of us old enough to remember, you were galaxy class against us, world class would not have been enough to resist what we threw your way. You broke my heart as a 15 year old but you will always have my respect. RIP Andy.
Mark your saying what a lot of Scottish and English people are thinking god bless you Andy and your family also your football family I'm a Hibs fan and remember when we heard you were coming to Hibs and you were outstanding for us pure legend rip Andy xx
James your interviews are awesome
People feel at ease with you and
They seem to open up to you and give you the.full story of thier lives
Brilliant pal
Great interview. From Leeds but lived In Glasgow when the Battle of Britain happened. Early days of sky sports and the neaerst place to watch the eland road game on tv was in Moffat cos they were close enough to the border to pick up English sky sports. Ended up in a boozer the only Leeds fan in amongst a pub packed with rangers fans. Great night 😂. Leeds at the time were a great side but Rangers were just that bit better. Well done again James.
Pete Earles respect mate 2 great teams 💙🇬🇧
Really enjoyed this, thank you for posting it. Andy Goram has a really mixed accent - mainly Scots but you hear a Lancashire way of speaking in there as well. Great keeper who had a great career
Goalkeeper legend! Great night, he was a massive hero of mine growing up and being a goalkeeper myself....Got to meet him, actually sang AC/DC Whole Lotta Rosie in the pub, gave it yaldi aswell, In front of him with out even knowing he was sitting over in front of me, he fist pumped my chest and said "Great job big man, Bon Scott, awesome man" or words to that effect! That was a mental mind blowing night night haha
Andy was a quality keeper. Great memories and brilliant interview 👍🏼
Best goalie Scotland's ever had in my opinion
Brilliant interview James with Andy....some brilliant memories....respect.
Celtic fan and always despised Andy, but after watching he seems like a half decent lad to be fair.. another great interview James
Saor Alba Cheers mate 👍🏼

It's hard not to get caught up in it all especially during the troubles...I hated goram back in the day...
He was a CAT. EVEN his mention of Allan Mc 'prowling' - brings back memories of a great man who I loved dearly. RIP Andy you liked a good time and you never held back. I had the great privilege to know the man behind the legend and I will always love you. A good friend and a great mate.
Great character and simply the best, goalie we will never forget you, gbnt, flyhigh Andy ❤️🤍💙🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🧸
What a goalkeeper Rangers had in Andy Goram 👏👏👏, what a character, what a squad of players we had then, we did get bumped in Europe, smell the gloves eh Andy 😁 👍
Goram just tells story after story and inbetween the stories james just tell him constantly hes a legend, one of the best etc
Never mind Rangers legend, he was an Oldham legend he was my hero. Every Saturday we went to Butterflies nightclub in Oldham after the match he was usually there as was Paul Scholes and David May, Frank Worthington Earl Barret etc and others Andy was worshipped at Oldham I seen him save so many penalties. He was just like one of the boys always had time for the fans. No airs and graces with this lad proper down to earth. I love how he appreciates his time at Oldham.
recently discovered this interview, I had previously watched your interview with David Icke, which was fantastic. Andy Goram was my fave player growing up and I always wondered if Gazza made fun of him following that classic Euro 96 goal, now I know! Solid interview, keep up the great work James.
Thank you 👍🏼
@@JamesEnglish no problem.

quality, really enjoyed that interview with Andy goram coming across as a top fella
I was rangers mad as a kid and remember begging my ma to buy me the goalie shirt instead of the regular shirt she wasn't to happy it being bright yellow all thanks to this man he was a different generation of GK.
I had a very similar experience. As a kid I got the yellow goalkeeper shirt from season 97/98 I think it was, and my mum gave me pelters for it! She commented every time I wore it that it was hideous haha
Just watched this after he passed last week top man I'm a man United fan remember when he signed for us top keeper rip. Legend
Great video thoroughly enjoyed it. Brought back some special memories and I can see Brown and Gough in front of me and know that I’d not be in danger.

Really good podcast, enjoyed that! What an interesting fella and gives a good insight to behind the scenes of a pro football club.
Great Interview and what a fantastic career you have had. Still got a bit of Bury in that accent Andy.
Rest in perpetual light Andy💚💙
I love your interviews matey, no bias no bull, just talking, letting them talk and tell their stories rather than loading them with questions. Don't take this show to TV cos it'll fall on it's arse
Ross Hill cheers ross 👍🏼
Thanks James, really enjoying all these podcasts the Ian 'blink' MacDonald and Johnny Boy Steele were real eye openers, looking forward to Paul Ferris interview.
Cheers buddy.

Tom Harkins thanks Tom
Great interview James English. If Andy Goram became a podcaster, interviewing aw the Rangers players and celtic players,, both Sets of famous fans, referees etc he would have hundreds of thousands of viewers. Fkin brilliant interview, should have tried for a 2nd when Rangers won the 55.Yup I'm a Teddy bear but still massive respect James wiz fkin best football interview I've ever seen. While yees are there go n check my songs cheers. Lol
Goram was an absolute legend, I've said it before, McGregor is a world class keeper, but to illustrate just how good Goram was, he's the sort of player that's not just world class, he's one of a kind, the sort you'll not see again. Right enough, he had top, top players in front of him, but you could never underestimate just how good he was between the sticks.
As for Keane? Nah, I've no respect for him, especially for that behaviour. Goram was from an era that really understood what it meant to play for Rangers, the fact he was in tears when his career was nearly ended at Rangers says it all, a true blue. Some players these days wouldn't know the first meaning. Must say though that we've got a good group of players now thanks to Gerrard and are quickly learning.
What a keeper Goram was, honestly, an unbelievable keeper he was, he's the benchmark of Rangers class.
A UNITED FAN THANKS ANDY FOR YOUR SERVICE TO THE UNITED CAUSE MATE. GOD BLESS. 😈😈
Cracking tribute at the end James! Brilliant interview as always!
Great GK, Great Bloke and superb after dinner speaker
Used to see Andy walking about the Shore Rd/York rd, Belfast every now and again. As a boyhood rangers fan I loved it everytime I saw him
I met (briefly) Peter McCloy last year. He was the first Rangers goalie I have memories of as a kid. My balls were tingling. From him to Shagger though, there has never been anyone that matched THE Goalie. Absolute legend and a great guy aswell. We have been very lucky though, to be blessed with great goalies through our history. Long may it continue.
Brilliant stuff. Greatest goalkeeper of all time.
Raymond McDonald cheers mate 👍🏼
This was good mate and I say that as someone with a season ticket for Celtic. Be boss if you interviewed Packie Bonner. Thomas, Liverpool
I love your interviews James brilliant work mate. 👍
