After Godzilla, King of The Monsters was released in 1956, Raymond Burr didn't appear in a big screen movie again until Airplane 2; The Sequel, released in 1982, before reprising the role of Steve Martin in Godzilla 1985 and then the last big screen movie he appeared in was Delirious, 1991, starring John Candy.
Thank you, my friend. It's really the overuse of blue and orange that hold these showcases back, but I'm glad to be done with Godzilla King of the Monsters.
Hot take, but much as I do prefer the Japanese original, this American version is not schlock. It's respectfully done, and Burr is convincing. It's better than it's reputation.
It really is. People need to understand that the Japanese cut definitely would not have been distributed as it was, not with how politics were back then. Not mention, yes, this film is definitely respectful as much as it could at the time. Also, Raymond Burr is my favorite actor, so I kinda have a bias. Lol The original is still better, but both are masterpieces
The American version left out a very poignant line from Yamane about how if nuclear weapons keep being made, another Godzilla will rise. While it's very poignant and chilling, it's also kind of ironic because in-universe (whichever timeline), another Godzilla was created but he ended up being a hero (or an anti-hero in the Heisei though his son took on his role and he'll probably be more of a hero than his father was since he was raised by humans and has more of a connection with them like with Zilla Jr., the millennium era constantly resets the timeline though he was an outright villain again in at least GMK).
In American version of Godzilla, its antinuclear message was deliberately deleted in order not to upset American viewers who believed that A-bombings were necessary to urge Imperial Japan to accept the Potsdam Declaration.
this actually looks really good, i was wondering how much did you have to pay for Deoldify? have to admit, i was very tempted to do something like this myself, but I really dont know where to start
It's not a paid thing. I recommend looking up Deoldify for videos when you can, but you should know, you'll need to have a few programs installed on your computer, some of which I don't remember, but I remember Jypter Notebook being the most annoying of them to install, so make sure you look that one up before trying yourself

Raymon bur understood how important godzilla was. hes truly a man of respect and understanding.

I love to see the whole movie in color when Toho had the time 😊
Nice one bro! It came out pretty well despite some of the limitations of the program

Wonderful in color.
You’re doing the work of a Legend
Raymond Burr looks like a fucking building fell on him, which is essentially what happened, and Emiko asks "Steve, are you badly hurt?"
Some are now saying that the Godzilla suit was actually brown rather than charcoal gray for this movie.
I thought it was supposed to be green almost
people have been saying this for years

Just imagining mixing both the Japanese cut and the American cut together
