Happy Birthday Rob!!
That pun killed me. Like literally. I'm dying.
Help
That shimmer effect though. This has to be one of the most beautiful pedals I have ever heard.
Jacob Stout
If you do any PC DAW stuff and can make use of VST's check out the Valhalla Shimmer VST. The sounds you can coax your axe (or other instrument) to utter are "I've got something in my eye" level beautiful.
Am I the only one that watches Rob's videos just to feel better? Love you Rob!!! \m/
Me too
Amen brother!
Definitely
By that I mean me too
I'm always happy when a new video is online ;)
It's okay, I don't need to eat this month.
You could just eat your last name
+andy wright dammit man! yes
Damn you are wright!
+andy wright kikikiki
dude you can make stompboxes with basic knowledge and tutorials on your own for like 20$ if not cheaper
I'm ashamed by how much the new neighbour gag made me laugh
Me too, buddy. Me too.
It's so silly it gets past your defenses.
headslap here
These guys are youtube treasures.
That's so true because people keep asking me where did you dig them up from :-)
I don't know who edits these, but they really make the videos for me. They deserve a shout out.
Well damn.
Just take my money.
i was sold 3 minutes in :/
i love emg
Love your channel
+1 lol
i like to be haired.
An idea for a cool series would be bad gear challenge. Take gear that it is not so popular among people and get some usable tones from it. Great video btw.
That shimmer effect gives me shivers! Seriously a spiritual moment and exactly what I love making music for
I wish Andertons was also an american retailer. They have more things I would buy than what guitar center has instock.
I know it makes me sad
Chicago Music Exchange is kinda, key word is kind of, like an Andertons.
Just think of it as a reason to visit the UK.
Sweetwater is the closest we have man.
Sweetwater is good, as are many other places: Pro Guitar Shop, N Stuff Music, Prymaxe Vintage, American Musical Supply, Humbucker Music, and Music Store Live; however, I go out of my way to shop at smaller places like Flipside Music, Riff City Guitar, and RNA Music whenever the they stock what I want.
Actually thought he was being serious for a second with that Razorback. Haha.
i was hoping
The most captivating reverb tones I've ever heard in a guitar pedal!
For a new pedal board challenge you guys should do a multi effects pedal versus individual pedals. One of you can pick any multi effects pedal on the market (maybe set a price limit?) and the other has to create a board with 5 or 6 pedals similar to the multi unit's options and price, then using metrics like versatility/customization, ease of use, and of course overall sound pick a winner.
Man, I don't know why in particular, but your pedal reviews are by far my favorite videos you do. Something about you guys geeking out so hard about sounds, I suppose. Definitely down for another board challenge video, as well.
Rob & Captain's sense of humor is much to be appreciated. I love it. every video they manage to slip some in.
I love those dramatic ambient effects - they make it sound like "I wanta' know what's cool going on over there from a distance" type thing.
Holy Sh**... this Pedal is really great! I must have it one day...
I would buy it right now if I weren't saving my money for a Fender American Pro Strat...
Great Review Lee and Rob! Thanks for this one and Greetings from Germany! :)
Always happy when I see that you've uploaded a new video! This is by far my fav channel! Thanks Guys! Greetings from Switzerland ;-)
the shimmer effect is absolutely stunning
Yep, I'm sold. Literally just placed my order for one direct from Neunaber.
BTW, I foresee a Chapman Guitar Pedal in the coming decades, which will contain Rob's consciousness after he has passed from his human form. :)
LOL! I'd buy that pedal with him inside it. He may not like my dusty closet, though. :/
how good was it?
Rob Really nailed it with the Diablo 2 music comparison.
Some of the best playing you guys have ever done........
I remember that Diablo II music, aaaaaahhhhhhh *exhales worries, inhales nostalgia*
It's amazing how far Lee's playing has come since the early days of these videos. You got the soul Lee!
I think that's the best I've heard Rob sound with that PRS!
I still want to here you've got some DGTs in stock!
That opening pun was truly excellent.
Damn.. this thing is f'kin beautiful, and nice playing throughout!
Happx Birthday Rob and thank you for all the videos and for the concert in Germany. You're one of the coolest guys I've ever met. And greet Rabear from me too. Love you guys, you're such an inspiration =)
I bought this pedal because of this review, and its killer. I use it all the time. Keep up the good work guys.
siiiiiiiilence to bring new life>>>
seriously rob bring out that track already its haunting my dreams!!!!
Whoever edits the footage does a stellar job at making tunes out of frames of video
My goodness that sounded amazing!! And the things you guys were playing on it were just epic.
The PRS is just awesome too.
By the way, I bought your stuff!! Last week I got my girlfriend a Schecter Hellraiser-5 bass that I couldn't find anywhere else in Europe. An incredible bass at an unbeatable price! THANK YOU ANDERTON'S!! And the people at ANDERTON'S, and to the guy that puts the ANDERTON in ANDERTON'S. And to Rob Chapman for turnimg me up to ANDERTON'S. And to the folks who ship the gear at ANDERTON'S. And the guys who take the gear at ANDERTON'S to the post office. And so on...
Well, when will the first LP from Chaptain Anderlord come?
Will there be pre-orders available? ;)
when will rob's solo album drop?
+Jesus Christ I think it's due November/December cos he said it would be the end of the year.
i love that band name!
Kewl Beans lol, i just noticed the name, i read it simply as captain anderton
Well first of all you need the miku miku pedal! :) produces some immense tones!
its nice to see a review on pedals. i feel that it makes a change to the channel. Keep up the amazing work to both Chappers and the Captain.
Chappers and Cappers, your vids are awesome, I put them on and just listen while I work. You guys have epic jam sessions. Rock on \m/
That PRS is one of the most beautiful guitars I've ever seen. really nice.
That shimmer tone was absolutely incredible...Accompanied by Bea's licks, a extraordinary feel...
Yar for sure. One of my guys, my chumsters. Whoo-ah! You guys are super-cool and funky, in that you *always* brighten my day. Love ya! Whether that day was 2 years ago for you or a year or whatever.. it's all the same to me you all..
Oh man that Diablo reference. That is my favorite tune in the town. Could listen to it forever.
I like that bit of editing at the end.
Im just glad the fuzzy guy came along to give us a sample of how it sounds with some gain.
For the pedal board challenge you could make the most expensive board possible just for the fun of it? Where you can't choose the same pedals. Love the videos!!
These guys are the most knowledgeable guitar players on youtube.
Happy birthday Rob!! Many years to come
I got one of these pedal from Andertons Music soon after this demo, thanks guys great demo and nicely explained how it works
and to be absolutely honest I'm not disappointed I think this is the best Reverb I have ever used
hope Rob is enjoying his as much as I am
Thanks for showing this off, just purchased one for myself!
By the way, shimmer is a turn on
I've just started ambient playing, using a Boss DD-2, Boss CE-2, and an MXR Reverb. Sounds immense. Love this video demo!
The entertainment value is strong with this one, love it.....the pedal sounds good too. ;)
happy birthday Rob!!! lots of fans in Brazil!!
THE PUNSS I love it!. Happy Birthday Rob!
Awesome! I owned a Strymon Big Sky, Timeline and Mobius. But sold alle three of them. Strymon sounds to digital (tale wise) into my ears. The functions of those pedals make'd me dizzy but i don't buy a pedal for it's functions but for its sound. Immerse all the way! Thanks for the review!
this review would be more helpful if they actually played in an ambient style to showcase how epic the ambience of this pedal is.
Zebulon Stevens i agree. I love their videos, but seeing how this is an ambient pedal and how most of the time I want to play music and not just shred, the demos aren't super helpful compared to some other videos.
to true
They don't know how to play anything besides the 7 licks they play in everyone one of their videos.
Also, running this in stereo would have been nice.
I disagree. There’s 1000 different videos on youtube of dudes playing the same ambient licks with shimmer and whatnot. It’s near impossible to find anyone demoing some shallow reverb effects for just giving some space to a tone. Most people don’t play a ton of ambient guitar, but everyone needs a reverb in their chain.
carry on lads ~ brilliant - this yank will always listen to your channel
First new pedal I have fancied getting in a long time, lovely!
Happy birthday Fappers we love you!! keep up the great work fam
Loved the guitar choice. Awesome pedal aswell. I really like how it keeps the tone and there's no digital artifacts.
That is a SICK peddle, with some SICK hosts. Thanks Chaptain
Wondered why video started with no guitars ... then the punchline of the fugly dime ... there's always something to smile about as well as finding stuff out about stuff ... thanks Chappers & The Captain :)
Just ordered this pedal from Anderton's, and I literally can't wait!
Haven't watched you guys in a couple months haha love the new hair Rob you look sophisticated and respectable haha not that you weren't before
I first heard this with Phil McKnight and was just amazed. In the 30 odd years I have been fiddling around with this stuff, I cannot ever remember hearing a pedal that sounds so good. The Arian (or Arion, not sure?) chorus pedal that Lee put on his pedalboard was the title holder until this thing came along. Just friggin' EPIC sounding
Dude the Diablo ll thing, OMG I've thought about that sound so many times and have tried to replicate it. Dude on key Rob
Also happy birthday Rob!! May it be as great as you are
I was watching this last night before I was heading to bed and I just fell asleep. I don't mean this in a bad way though! The mellow grooves just put me straight into coma mode. Especially liked the shimmer.
I would carry that pedal every where i go and call it my best friend lol. Wow the tones that thing can deliver is just awesome. Goosebumps :P
The djent bit at the end was hysterical. Thanks for the laugh guys. I needed that.
Back on finest Top Gear-but-with-guitars form
Best pedal for 2016 and 2017 and it's still on my board in 2020 there is a new version now and I would say just as good well-done NEUNABER
I immediately bought one online from Andertons after watching this video. This is unbelievably good I cannot wait to get it.
Stunning guitar, and the first piece rob played with the shimmer setting it weirdly reminded me of the bfg animation.
The man that edits these videos is a genius.
love that PRS, yum!
reverb pedal is killer too.
Hahah, Chappers' face in the end. So pleased with himself :D
I was so happy when he pulled out the Razorback... that moment didn't last long =(
Of all the pedals you've showcased, this may be the one I want most.
A new neighbour ! Djent level: Captain. Love you guys !
Really loved the track at the end.
Omg omg before I watch this video! Thank you thank thank you!!! 😍😱⛑
Neunaber makes AMAZING effects pedals. It would be SO MUCH BETTER if the demos of stereo pedals actually were recorded in stereo so we can hear how much better this is as a stereo effect (yes, it really is BETTER in stereo!!!)
Mine arrives Monday along with a Wampler Triple Wreck... Can't wait!!!
I don't have any pedal ideas for the new boards, but I would recommend upgrading your pedaltrains to accommodate more pedals (Chappers, get your wah on there; Captain, get your metalzone). Also shoot it in store. Those are always the most interesting videos when you are with the products making the decisions.
Props for the throwback to Matt Uelman's "Tristram". I listen to that Diablo track, all the time.
Great video and Happy birthday Rob! :)
Man everyones playing on this was just perfect for each setting. The Bea's clips reminded me of something opeth.
that prs is stunning 😍
The Soul Food pedal from Electro Harmonix, I use this one for by bass and absolutely love it, it does not remove anything needed, just adds the extra punch and power that is needed to take the next step.
Another one added to the toolbox next to the RV-5 and Polara. Can't get enough of unique reverb.
That guitar needed intonation, not just a tuning
After getting the BlueSky,immerse reverberator ,soon I'm getting the big sky, different algorithms, killer tones.
Reverb is life
omg I used to be obsessed with Diablo ii... good job bringing that up bud.
I'd love to see a Captain pedal that would go through all the different sounds and options of any pedal you plugged into it... I don't think that is possible but would be a awesome pedal!!!
You could probably make such a thing with Lego Mindspring and a Raspberry Pi, but it wouldn't be a pedal. Rather, you would put the pedal inside it and it would twiddle all the knobs for you.
Dude that Diablo reference made me so incredibly happy.
thumbs up for the Akara reference :)
I love you guys
Neunaber is located on Chapman drive. Coincidence? I think not, Sparky!
Happy birth(metal)day Rob!!! Have a great day, Hugs from Farnborough!!!
Holy $hit. That shimmer is amazing!!
Absolutely do not need to buy another reverb pedal yet it looks as though I'm about to.
Thanks guys....
"Pedalboard dreams" This is the go to rig that many people would love, and I'm thinking of doing. Start with the Cap-10, into the Joe Bonamassa Wah, into the Way Huge Green Rhino MkIV, into the MXR Reverb with the Expression Pedal. Plugged into a Tweed Deluxe AND a Victory Sheriff 44 and a 2x12 cab. Do it! Just do it!
