I remember watching this originally on HBO I think - it was a version that had better subtitles. So I know there is a version out there somewhere with a better translation - that goes along better with the original French dialogue as well.
I love the fact that people come here to strictly slam the 1995 version... 🙄 Like damn, guys - don't y'all have something better to do? Like, i dunno, throw feces at JK Rowling or something?
I'd disagree, and just say it's a different kind of chemistry and a different kind of tone for a different time and place... But hey, it's your preferred version for a reason special to you and that's awesome. I love that for you.
Esta película es lo máximo!!! Amo a Albin!!!
I saw this on stage this year it was very funny, I enjoyed every bit of it.
One of my favorite scenes!!!
the funny scream he makes make me laugh out loud always 🤣1:46
*"J'ai cassé ma biscotte!"* ("I broke the toast again!") Trop intense cette réplique! J'adore!
I like it as "I broke my biscuit!"
One of the most funny things I have ever seen :-)
Every once in awhile I watch The Birdcage and then this the original and it is so freaking funny I wish this had subtitles
Search for the full film on here with English subtitles! It's the best film!
Hold the knife BOLDLY!
I had a set of VHS tapes la Cage 1 ,2 and 3,,they weren't subtitled, they were spoken in English and sounded just like them❤
The subtitles are rather inaccurate, a lot gets lost in translation.

I would love to see La Cage Aux folles, 1,11, and111 again
I saw this movie so many years ago, and I loved the American version, but it doesn’t compare to this.
... great actors :-)
Funny film I rented it on video in 1987
Yes, this is far more funny and poignant than the Robin Williams vehicle
very that
Genius

A ''elysee"? Quoi? In English? Merco/Cheers.
I saw this many year ago and it is so much better than the Bird Cage. Nathan Land and Robin Williams had no chemistry

He's not. People really are that pernicious.
Both versions are great in my opinion.
This French sounds so different than Quebecois French. 😒
