    Has anyone researched is his behavior drastically changed after receiving the hammer strike to the head?
    I've done a lot of research on probation era gangsters and one had a serious head injury. His personality drastically changed, he started doing very sadistic, dangerous, criminal things...he was sent to jail. While there he was diagnosed with schizophrenia, which we now know is genetic. You can't get it from a serious blow to the head. But you'd be amazed how many people have had serious head traumas and where diagnosed as schizophrenic.
    I come from an abusive home. Some of the things this man endured as a child I did too. I was in a battered woman's shelter pretty early in life. But my mom went back toy dad. The cycle of abuse tends to repeat itself. I know I, as any other human being, am capable of horrible things. But I refuse to victimize another living creature as I'd be just like my father.
    Abuse and torture are something one can never get over from, most people repeat the cycle.

      Nivya Prakruti Very true! But in terms of abuse, there may have been some. They say it's a cross-over between sexual development and violence, so somewhere around puberty, but who knows. It's not commonly disputed that an individual (especially a child) would be so without an environmental trigger, but should this be an exception, then Dahmer would be a prime example of nature over nurture. His parents, if knowing of something, seem to want to hide it forever, but hopefully the truth will come out.

    Im confused as to how he got the nickname "The Shoemaker" I mean aside from his childhood training to become a cobbler. With a name like The Shoemaker, you would think he made shoes out of the skin of his victims or something.

    • @jakeaaron
      @jakeaaron 5 лет назад +7

      He was a very highly regarded cobbler and a lot of his delusions had to do with "fixing people" through orthopedic shoes and inserts.
      Honestly this video doesn't even BEGIN to delve into his mind.

    This is one of the saddest stories I've ever heard. People have the opportunity to overcome their horrible childhood traumas and make a positive difference in the world, especially with their own families. Unfortunately Joseph's mind and heart warped from his own twisted sense of entitlement, which involved hurting other people even worse than he was hurt. Imagine your only legacy to be inflicting a tremendous amount of pain upon others. I have a hard enough time living with mistakes I have made without something like that hanging over my head. Such a tragedy. I'm glad they were caught, because they were fixing to be prolific serial killers. I hope Michael chose another way.

My only good memory about my childhood is caring for sick stray animals. I chosed to use my pain to as force to save lives. Now i work in emergency as a trauma specialist. I haven't created my own family yet but all children around the world are my family. I live my childhood through their smiles . I learned to receive and give love . I hope any person who reads my comment to understand that we are humans and capable to love. I promise you pain will get better if u try. There's a thrill in helping others the same Way u can get a thrill in harming self or others.

    I was raped at three by my cousin sexually abused by my priest at ten, beaten by my dad often, he held my hands over the flames on the stove because I had no toys and was playing with my mom's Bobbie pins . My mom an angry woman would make me kneel on uncooked rice while she read the Bible at me..sent to military school at ten was my only relief...rather than kill them as they made me angry, I chose forgiveness..

      Eric Rivers you should've beaten them down put them both kneeling on rice, then got them to read scripture about respect and repentance. Only then when you heard their repentance get them to read scripture about forgiveness, then forgive them and walk away.
      As for the rapist they are all condemned in the bible to have a millstone tied around their necks and cast into the sea.
      Pedophiles cannot be forgiven in this life.

      Sorry man, but I had a similar upbringing and I still want to hurt the people who did this to me. You are resilient I'll give you that. That is a trait I don't have, but if it was between me and giving out the punishment they deserve, I'd beat them within an inch of their lives without remorse. Forgiveness can kiss my ass.
