Shifa Family Welcomes Dr. Omar Idris Mufti - Consultant Cardiologist

The Shifa family warmly welcomes Dr. Omar Idris Mufti, who has joined Shifa International Hospital Ltd. as a Consultant Cardiologist. He is a graduate of Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad, and completed his Internal Medicine Residency Training at Wright State University, Ohio, United States. After completing his residency, he was appointed as the Chief Resident of Internal Medicine and Clinical Assistant Professor at Wright State University. He also completed a Fellowship in General Cardiology there, where he served as Chief Cardiology Fellow. Following this, he pursued a Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Hartford Hospital, University of Connecticut, specializing in complex coronary, peripheral, and structural interventions.
After his training, he worked as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Shasta Regional Medical Center, California. Upon returning to Pakistan, he joined Fazaia Medical College, Islamabad, as an Assistant Professor of Cardiology. He also served as the Head of Cardiology at both PAF Hospital and Maroof International Hospital, Islamabad.
Dr. Omar Idris Mufti holds Triple Board Certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology. He is also certified by the Board of Nuclear Cardiology in the US and the Pakistan Society of Interventional Cardiology (PSIC).
Dr. Omar Mufti brings a vision of advancing the Cardiology Department at Shifa International Hospital through his extensive expertise in interventional and general cardiology. His dedication to upholding international standards of evidence-based medicine, quality assurance, and patient safety will greatly benefit the community.
Dr. Omar Idris Mufti will be available at Shifa International Hospital, located in H-8/4, Islamabad, from Monday to Saturday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
