Perfect timing! At the moment I received the notification, I wasn't in the best of moods, maybe leaning toward a darker place! Boom, in that moment, everything changed with that notification.
Love it. The pack in. Spotting with good hunting buddies. Seeing critters and coming up with plans to get them. This a pears to be a Dream Hunt! Thanks for sharing it with all of us!
Fun seeing Brody with you guys. I can’t wait to hear him blow your tube. Fun hunt gentleman! Keep it real , keeping it fun. New meaning to the world of cliff hanger!
Hey I love the rifle bull hunt in my home state of Idaho. It's kept me from bow hunting the last 6 or 7 years. It's rough country and makes it still mentally tough. Good job Trent keep poking Trevor. Haha love your new rifle season hunting you've done the last couple years.
Great first 2 days !that’s some rugged country you guys were in ! Why you not using the sig with the 24” barrel ? I think not shooting was the better option ,even though I’m sure Treavor was able to make the shot ! Great to see you with Switchback outdoors as well !
Are you guys doing more or less a drop camp on this hunt? The lightning tree was awesome. Do you guys mind saying what tipi tent someone is using? I'm looking for one, so I'd be curious to know what someone in your group is using. Thanks
And we thought it's over . Great job on not ending viewing season can't stop holding my breath every time you shoulder the rifle with elk in the cross hairs. 880 that's a long way out
880? Shouldn't even be a question. Even if you had some GunWerks setup for shooting to the moon. How much technology do we want to use to fill our desire to kill a bull? There should be some allowance for saying, "You know, that bull got the best of us, he's safe for now."
I enjoy your videos. One thing I always have a laugh at, the saying “ as the crow flies”, have you ever seen a crow fly in a straight line? I never have in 50 years of hunting and being in the outdoors. Just saying.
I wouldn't say extremely do able when 75% of the people out there shouldn't be shooting past 300 yds. Not to mention trying to call the wind in those big canyons. A very small percentage of hunters have that ability.
2024-2025 seasons: In many Idaho units, the lack of grazing and the severe winter of 2022 claimed much of the Southeastern mule deer and elk herds. However, it did expose a problem. Uncheck and unlimited elk tags are dimishing elk herd numbers severely. We all know that a large amount of revenue comes from hunting tags, so why not look the other way and exploit the wildlife? Hunters can look for a ungodly price hike by the local land owners for their trespass fees to hunt on their land during the 2024 season due to the governments shutting off the groundwater water farmers need in the Southeast portion of Idaho. The land owners need the hunter revenue to retain their land. Elk and deer herds will need to travel further for food and water, so, forget about your favorite spot and be prepared to start all over again looking for deer and elk. Looking ahead, I can foresee the day when Idaho will be forced to go to a "Controlled draw" system only for game management to keep herd numbers healthy, ... and use a periodic unlimited tag season for backup should the herds grow too large. Yes, I know this means the price of hunting tags will need to increase, but the economical signs show we are headed that direction anyway. Folks, its "darned if we do, and darned if we don't!"
I hope you left my piece of wire that was bent into a long V shape that was sitting on top of that stone wall fire pit.... That's for cooking my grouse when I get to the "POINT"
Liked the hunt - but did I miss something here? You guys are considering the pack - which I would too - but you've got horses? Unless they were not used on this hunt. Who the hell cares how far away that incredible bull is?!?! Try packing out a 1,000 lbs. of moose on your back like me and two other faithful partners helped me out with. My dream hunt is to go elk hunting in Idaho on horseback. I know you guys loved the trip and the hunt.
Disagree a bit, every elk I’ve seen shot with a 6.5 has died cleanly with one shot. BUT those are bonded or copper bullets at less than 300 yards with proficient shooters. Anything else is a hard no
My son and I have dropped multiple elk at 300+ yards with 6.5CM with one shot. My son had to shoot one last year three times with a 300WM. Placement is key on any caliber and any animal.
@@WyoMountaineerBigXII placement is key on any animal with any caliber. Agreed. HOWEVER bullet ballistics, kinetic energy on target and bullet construction are also key. 937 yards on a bull with a 6.5 of any flavor is ethically wrong (to me). But these guys are also trying to peddle and promote a rifle that shouldn’t even be used on elk in the field. My opinion on the matter still stands. Obviously you’re not alone and many others have killed elk with a 6.5. It’ll eventually do it I just personally think it’s the wrong tool for the job.
I shot a 7x7 bull elk last year from botom of steep mountain in 2 ft of snow at 1300 yards with a Keltec Rfb 308 .I practiced all summer to make that shot and have shot long distance competitively against a buddy all our lives . Took me 3 days to pack the meat down by myself

Good call Trevor, can't wait until the next episode.
Love to see the videos. This time of year I need things like this. Before we know it we will be out chasing critters again. I can't wait.
Love it. The pack in. Spotting with good hunting buddies. Seeing critters and coming up with plans to get them. This a pears to be a Dream Hunt! Thanks for sharing it with all of us!
Be careful with the unicorn head Trent. There’s some Idaho hunters that have been waiting to kill a unicorn for decades.😂
Man Idaho is steep. The preview of the next episode already has me wishing it was next Monday. Love everything y'all do.
awesome video boys lookin forward to the next one
Glad to see these two groups getting together on a hunt again. I love the videos, you guys are the real deal.
Hey it was a pleasure meeting you guys on the mountain. Awesome video can’t wait for the second part of this video.
Love the rifle elk hunts!! Keep ‘em coming.
Sweet. Can't wait to see the rest of the hunt.
Fun seeing Brody with you guys. I can’t wait to hear him blow your tube. Fun hunt gentleman! Keep it real , keeping it fun. New meaning to the world of cliff hanger!
Great hunt guys! This series has been awesome as always.

Love the rifle hunts. keep up the great videos.
Hilarious 😂 Mountain mask!!! Watch out for the Unicorn 🦄 slayers though!
Country reminds mean of eastern oregon, just steep country, awesome video y’all!
Nice to see Treavor excited again ☘️💚.
JO JO IN VT 💞💨❄️☃️
Cute unicorn. Some rough country you're in steeper than a crowds face. But very nice views
The rule of thumb on big game is "don't quit shooting until it hits the ground ".
Lit, lit, littor, litter , smaller bull. 🤣😂🤣😜
Dam you scuba steve gonna be a long week impatiently waiting!
Cool hunt! I’m not much of a rifle hunter, but this was cool!
Excited for more hunts!
Not first today but still commenting for the algorithm.
Wait for a bigger bull . That one big one was worth finding again . But I know this has already been played out months back . Great hunt guys
Trevor has the voice of an angel. He sounds like a mix of Fergie and Jesus
Pretty sure I just saw a kitchen sink dangling off Trent’s bino harness 😮😅
Can you do Oregon elk hunt
Great first 2 days !that’s some rugged country you guys were in ! Why you not using the sig with the 24” barrel ? I think not shooting was the better option ,even though I’m sure Treavor was able to make the shot ! Great to see you with Switchback outdoors as well !
18 in barrel, Sig boys need to hook you up with the BRO SC 24in ❤it 😊
Looks like Trent has a back pack as a chest rig 😂

Hey fellas. Which editing software do you guys use for your stuff?
Love the unicorn
Climbing Ropes!
Mountains are calling!
Welcome to Idaho bro-crew not in the jungle anymore
Does anyone know what tipi tent they are using in this hunt?

Is it Monday yet
Trevor-negative Nancy lol 12:45
What is the deal with the two bipods on the gun

I miss the old days of BRO, peaked about 2yrs ago….
Welcome to gods country men. You are with some good company also.
Units 1,2,3A are steep and deep
I would of tryed it.. but I don’t shoot a 6.5 either !
212 burgers in a 300win that shot is extremely do able
Agreed 300 rum with 245 elite hunters, seems manageable
I wouldn't say extremely do able when 75% of the people out there shouldn't be shooting past 300 yds. Not to mention trying to call the wind in those big canyons. A very small percentage of hunters have that ability.
Hope Sig treats you well. You couldn't pay me to use another of their products with how shitty their customer service is.

Let's Go
I’ve seen em 😂
I hope you left my piece of wire that was bent into a long V shape that was sitting on top of that stone wall fire pit.... That's for cooking my grouse when I get to the "POINT"
Ruff country!
107 days left 😅
Good pass treavor
That was a hard pass. Never know what tomorrow will bring.
Go get some
Yup, Idaho steep
I just shot a elk bull elk 10 points and I’m only 15 years old
Awesome!! ... ...🤔 ..but, which state has a March elk season & bulls with antlers?
I get 2 elk tags every year for any picked month so that’s kind of how and i shot it with a bear bow
@@coffeehunter8742 so I get to tags every year for a picked month every year
@@coffeehunter8742 because I get one cow or bull elk tag and i can pick any month because I’m friends with the odfw

I think they need mountain goats by the looks of it.
@Ray Estrada That's when I'd be phoning the Llamma squad
Good 'ol 6.5, gotta shoot them 3 times before they fall......
I was thinking the same thing....why......people say no problem but then 3 times....wonder how much meat was wasted for bone...?
First
Should leave the 6.5 creedmoor at home when it comes to elk. I like the creedmoor but don’t wanna shoot an animal 3+ times to prove it’ll kill lol
Agree with you i like my creedmoor as a deer gun but even when it comes to bear or especially elk it's either a 7 or 30 cal

I'm not saying it can't be done I just think it's not as ethical

rifle hunt ? Where is your Orange hats and Vests .
“ depends on the shooter”
I think not shooting was the right choice.
You are allowed to hunt elk during the rut with a rifle! No wonder there elk herds are suffering 😂
But hell we’ll continue to blame the wolves
I like these guys .... I do .... but not enough to watch 24 minutes of their face....out of a 30 minute video.
