Gorgeous new Dahlias you are bringing in! Wow I love them all. I was also able to score Peaches n Cream! I only bought 1 from Dahlia May because Peaches is a little pricey. I also added Tangerine Dream and Wine eye Jill to my order and am super stoked to get growing! Great tips you give about taking cuttings. I only grew dahlias last year for the 1st time and now have a couple potted up to take cuttings. I will give your method shown here a shot. Happy Spring :)
I have had the worst luck with Wine Eyed Jill. I’ve had tubers from 2 different growers and she has never bloomed for me or stored well. My Jowey Winnie tubers originally came from Dahlia May, and they are some of my favourite ones!
@@greenbeefloralco Oh crap I hope Jill blooms for me! You know I really hesitated between her and Jowey Winnie because my grandma's name was Winnie. Thank you for the info!
I don't think it's that it's a bad dahlia, they just haven't worked specifically for me, for whatever reason. Which is too bad because I love dahlias with lots of colour variegation.
This video was really helpful for me. That's great you dont need rooting hormone. When you take the cuttings, could you go straight into the bigger square pots or is it always better for cuttings to start out in a smaller space?
Always a smaller space. It’s easier to keep bottom watered. The key is keeping a node below soil (where the leaves attach to the stem). Because that’s where the roots will grow from. Good luck!
Hi! Thanks for the update, I really enjoy your channel. What is the beautiful dahlia you have show in your intro videos in the past? Not sure if it's the same one as in 3:40 here but I just love the color.
Great great video! Thank-you for sharing. Do you have a video or tips on how to wake up the tubers to get cuttings? Regular soil mix? How much moisture and under lights? I did a poor job storing my tubers (dug them up too early), and I want to try wake them up to see if any are viable. Thank-you thank-you!
I just put them in potting soil and cross my fingers. No water until I see sprouts. Usually around this time you’ll start to see the dark spots of the eyes and those are the ones you’ll want to focus on taking cuttings from.
Here I am Whit my Thumb up supporting your channel. Thanks for the very good information
Great video, you explain and demonstrate so well!
I will be saving this video for future reference 😊
Good job snow Ball is very productive I love it I bought mine from:. ( swan Island dahlias). 3 years ago . You will love it
That's great to know! Finding a good productive white dahlia is always a task. :P
Thanks for the great information.
Glad it was helpful!

Can’t wait to get my collection from you.
Storage is always a problem for me . I like the vermiculite. I always use that for my glads.
We tried a few different storage methods to determine which one worked best for us. Lots of trial and error.
