Your editing skills are so on point, and your archive of footage has to be incredibly vast. I recall the days of scouring Soulseek and Kazaa for any little snippet of the band I could find, and I only ended up with a quarter of this stuff at most. Pre-youtube was a dark time. You've done us Pumpkins fans a great service with these uploads. You win the fucking internet.
GreetTheSacredCow yeah before the days of RUclips it was a friggin’ long ass drawn out hunt for whatever show you may be looking for. Not only that but could also get very pricey at times, depending on what it was exactly you were looking for. Yes... for some of you young fans out there of well, not just Pumpkins fans but of any/all other groups out there also... you had to back then thruout those glorious & so sadly missed heydays of the ‘so-called’ grunge/alt rock era espcly from (well...I guess from) 88, 89 thru 97. Yeah, you had to hunt down any/all concerts you wanted to get your hands on and lot of times pay out your b-hole for them. The better the quality, the higher the costs... most of the time anyway! Same went for any of them on video as well... uhmm yeah also video meant on a thing called VHS! Lol
That must be a great fucking feeling, to look out on a sea of people, and have them sing your lyrics or say your words before you even say them, because they love them so much. I can see how that can lead to bad behaviour.
I knowJames and D’Arcy didn’t really contribute a whole lot to studio sessions (they clearly had an impact on the the earlier records sometimes, but let’s be honest, it’s mostly Billy), James and D’Arcy are still incredible musicians to be able to play live shows up to Billy’s standards. I would kill to be as talented as them, let alone as talented as Billy or Jimmy.
No man, it was just a joke. The whole Today video is one big joke. Didn't you know that Billy and James used to perform in dresses sometimes back in the Gish days?
Who were all those people they were thanking around the 22nd to 23rd minute and what for? I know who Axl and Slash are obviously lol. I didn't know they knew GNR. Very different bands musically although Corgan has a lot of similarities with Axl doesn't he lol James Iha is really funny haha.
One of the most awkward moments was watching SP in therapy as a 13 year old literally worshiping Siamese Dream. Still fucking strange. Too many questions. The most apparent is WHY?
The Pumpkins weren't the best actors. Except Iha. They were all very honest. JC was about to cry, D'arcy was overly concerned and Billy summed up the band with an analogy that makes perfect sense. Anyway, they were incredibly productive.
Nirvana smell like Teen Spirit (i think it was when kurt cobain died, and Billy say "Rock is dead" and play a song of nirvana (the same in acoustic at 22:10. but for the rest lot of are from viewforia :(
It is not Smells Like Teen Spirit, it is Godzilla by Blue Oyster Cult. The footage live was in 1990, and I guess the acoustic was also 1990 because James mentions "our new album coming in 1991" or something like that.
"I want to dedicate this song to all the assholes across America because without them we'd have nothing to complain about"
Billy : here's the last song of the last best band of the world
James : electric light orchestra!
It's kinda weird cause they were really funny, makes you think they wouldn't be dysfunctional
They were likke a dysfunctional family that makes light of everything in order to hide how messed up it really is
dont you know that most comedians are compensating for their problems of severe depression or addiction by telling jokes?
"He's a star-maker, yeah, thats why we signed the contract." - James
Had me laughing so hard.
And he delivered

9:53 Kinda weird that Billy would tell Jimmy that his clothes are funny when Jimmy was the less extravagant Pumpkins and Billy would wear dresses.
what’s the problem with wearing dresses
Pumpkins to this day still don't get enough credit for how funny they are x
I love those old Vieuphoria clips! So nostalgic. I must have watched that tape a million times, then more when it came out on DVD!
nah, i just started listening to them more recently, their amazing, their great! and Iha is fucking amazing at guitar
Best band ever
We love your voice Billy, don't worry
8:20 ... the moment you really realize that you made it and your art is bigger than you can ever be. Awesome! I'd crack too...
When it's the shots of Billy and James on that couch and Billy in the black shirt. 🤗Omg he's so fucking hot. Forever a Fan 🤘❤️
james iha is so funny but he never actually smiles. very dry delivery
black adder
I know most of these moments, but it's fun to watch them as one big compilation!

subscribed after witnessing the band therapy sessions..nice..really nice.
It's funny. That therapist actually directed the music videos for Siva and Rhinoceros.
Their so funny with the therapist scene hahahaha

Darcy always thought Billy was a dork.
"Electric Light Orchestra!"
They used to have so much fun at shows

I wonder did the therapist ever recover from her session with the band?
I think she hit the bottle pretty hard after that day.

I love this
24:16. God I love that man ❤️

The search for the yeti
I finished making it, but I'm facing some copyright issues right now. So I have to re-edit my video. Hopefully tomorrow it should be up.
23:15 is epic
Yes he was. But not anymore. ;)

17:10 was pretty cool.
Haha they're fucking round with the therapist
2:25 always makes me fall out of my chair laughing
Sweet.

James Iha is really funny haha.

Did the guy at 20:49 survive? Lol
*laughing* XD @ therapy session at 9:30.
20:02 LMFAO!
4:27 he came up with Surrogates way back in the mid 90's lol.
9:10 OMFG JAMES
I thank for the amazing videos but... Where's the part 3?
take it you don't like them?
Where can I see all of the therapy thing?
3:34 we all love james
Rock and roool HEY!
what was the whole therapy session about?
about shoes and long hair
+Real Strat true
I started laughing so hard when James talked about the shoes

it was a joke my good man

Ryanem Yeah. I would have to agree with that.
Some Kind Of Pumpkin
Esta geniaaaaal!!!
Hell yeah @6:16
nice
It's from Vieuphoria.
Interesting! Does it look the same now?
Yeah, he was never gay, he actually dated D'arcy for a few years.
Are they on LSD? Jimmy sounds pretty confused...
I was just kidding. You asked if he "was" gay, like there's a possibility that he isn't anymore, like it goes away or something. ;)
Billy is really lame at the end, lol
Oh wow! *fp
-___-
lol
haha the random Simpsons clip
19.05 - 😐
where were they playing there?
What's the song at 7:06
Godzilla by the Blue Oyster Cult, I like the Smashing Pumpkins cover better, however.
Mannimations It sounded like the Offspring before the Offspring. I wonder if the Offspring ripped off that riff, or if I'm just tripping.
@ 4:10 >)
Was the therapy session real?
But of course, James always had a problem with footwear.
No. It was off the DVD Viewphoria I believe and it was for fun.
+Josh Mcgowan
The therapist didn't know she was being played.
Why was James Iha wearin a dress in that one music vid? was he gay?
What's the song at 7:00
