So i just accept its a silicon lottery winner.)
Darkshadow433 ASIC doesn’t affect performance per clock... if they are identical clock speeds, they will perform identically, and this is before Pascal boost days, so they will be exactly the same regardless of model/asic/temps/power as long as they are the same speed, and there will not be a big descrepency above like 20% unless your overclocking with liquid nitrogen... I’ve got 4 identical XFX RX470, and the asic value is meaningless. The lowest one is identical to the highest one, and the second lowest one has massive (50w power leakage at same clocks, and 100 MHz lower Vram speeds, and obviously runs hotter). But it’s right in the middle of asic value, so it doesn’t mean anything (also my 4x Fury have no correlation to asic value whatsoever, my fastest 2 I think show the worse values... except one is a trash Gigabyte mode and it’s just trash on multiple levels). I haven’t really seen asic correlations to overclocks, and I would probably notice because each card is tagged and marked with voltage and clockspeed as well as power graphs for tuning in a spreadsheet for every one and marked with an ID number for later reference (unless they are just binning for dominance in slot order as in GPU 1/2/3/4 for my Threadripper system, in which case it’s just speeds/benchmark score/voltage/temp/mod list)
Love your work, and as a Englishman now living in the U.S. I enjoy your content so much! I actually had this card 4 yrs ago I think. Sadly she became addicted to Ark:Survival Evolved and the card simply couldn't cut it. So, I sold it for 50$ US last year. Mine got extremely loud however on some dx 11 titles. How was your experience with it cooling, etc?(It ran kind of hot for my opinion)
My GTX 670 that Ive had for a while, its been a absolute overclocking monster, I was able to get memory upto 675 and core upto 1410mhz but im unable to keep it cool past 1267mhz, my 1060 is in the same boat almost, it can pass some benchmarks at 2200mhz.
GTX 670 ... right here in my pc now with an i5 2500k and it does the job. I just wish I had another card to try SLI with. Also with me having so many consoles this system is just fine for me when I want to pc game.
HELP!: I bought a GTX 670 2gb blower fan for 70 bucks but for some reason it doesn't perform well. I've checked game benchmarks on YT with my exact CPU also and all the benchmarks perform way better than mine
Oh my gosh I had this card. It was my first ever GPU when I first started building PC's. GTX 670 with a Phenom II 1055t followed by an 8350. I sold it and then got a 970/6600k, then sold that and my current setup is 8700k/MSI 1070 Gaming Z
I once had its refresh, the GTX 760, also from MSI and yes also with 2Gbyte of memory. Which, depending on the game, was pretty playable until some games really began to eat up memory. Still, it is a good card. And in its older form a good card too.
Great video like always. Hope you’ll check out the GTX 770 one day. I would love to know how my old card would perform with newer games. Greetings from Belgium 🇧🇪👋👍
I have the 670 power edition i find it a great card, runs most things ok. its in an gen 3 i5 msi system and great price of £50 for a great budget gaming card.
I've seen a few of these "retro 670" reviews. I find it interesting that all reviews I've seen test the 2gb version of the card. I've a 4gb version in my secondary PC (which I no longer game on). It begs the question: What differences, if any, do those extra two GB make when playing recent titles?
In assasin Creed your i5 reached 90%+ usage and i was thinking for a second that it's bottlenecking the GPU but later it went down so it's probably the only one place in benchmark what needs a lot cpu I think at 2.40 or so
I'd actually love to see random gaming do more retro orientated reviews also, for example older pci/agp based cards such as the ATI radeon 9600 Pro or nvidia 5000 series equivalent 😁
I still think my favorite card of all time is the 690. Beautiful card and extremely powerful. Wish I would have kept it just to put it on the wall of my computer room.
I had this same exact card before. The fans are REALLY poorly designed and dinky, but it was one of the most impressive cards I've owned at the time. 670 could do anything and even felt like overkill for a long while.
I've got an FX 4100 and a GTX 650ti. I want to upgrade my GPU. What's the best GPU option to pair with an FX 4100? I could potentially upgrade the CPU to an FX 8350 if I can find one cheap enough.
Depends on your resolution and games. I had an FX-8350 ran stock with overclocked Titan Xp, and it was highly GPU bound at 4k (any single GPU will be, duel Titan Xp would be about right for a match, 2x 2080ti would probably want the CPU overclocked but that’s fine because FX overclocks really well). At 1080p though, the 9900k might not even be fast enough in some games to keep up, it just depends on the game and settings you want to use.
my evga gtx 660 ftw sig 2 still runs great although one of the fans died recently so it now runs hotter than normal. i might replace the fans and fan shroud altogether.
Would you mind benchmarking Borderlands 2 and Pre Sequel with this card? I've heard that the 600 series runs it better than modern cards due to poor optimisation - in particular, my 1060 runs it fine but during intense battle scenes the fps will stutter a fair bit.
I think 3gb of vram helps card like the 7970-7950 over the 680 and 670. Its sad back in the day I upgraded a vapor x 7970ghz to a 780 classified and back then it was a good bit faster. Today there pretty damn close to each other. But my classified will do 1300mhz that helps it a lot and its still fine for 1080p. It was the most ive ever spent for a card until my strix 2080ti.
I asked this before, but could you try arma 2? Yes it is old and not that relevant but with the highest resolutions and view ranges its hard to run for any pc
My first gaming pc had a gtx 670, it honestly lasted longer than I expected, easily hit 5 years before I felt I needed an upgrade. :D I ended up selling it and getting a gtx 1080 now that I've fully embarrassed pc gaming. cx
@@loafoffloof3420 Like, a million times. In the end there was some problem with the core. The oven helped for a few days, then back to square one. The card had some kind of power problem i think, because even with the best conditions, MX-4 paste, and the fans going strong at 3.000 RPM, it would operate at 78 degrees in some games. I wanted an upgrade anyway, but I was sad to see the soldier fall in the battlefield like that.
Is the 1050ti more powerful? Bcs i want to play origins on the pc. I played it some hours on PS4 but can’t look at these 30fps. Even 720p wouldn’t be a problem for me if I hit 60FPS then
@@afurryferret That's like saying the Intel HD Graphics are enough to run minesweeper, it's true but doesn't make it any better... Even Apex probably uses more than 2Gb
You should keep this format of 30fps and 60fps benchmark with every graphics card even with less powerful cards like gt210 for laughs and sattire
Who is pairing an i5-8400 with a GTX 670? Forget 30fps vs 60fps, I'd rather see a best possible scenario vs a real world video.

Could you try the gtx 285? The 1 gig version. A beast in 2011, how Will it perform now?
No directx 11 support on 200 series cards so you would be limited to older games
Oh my gosh I had this card. It was my first ever GPU when I first started building PC's. GTX 670 with a Phenom II 1055t followed by an 8350. I sold it and then got a 970/6600k, then sold that and my current setup is 8700k/MSI 1070 Gaming Z
Bios mod it and you'll be able to get about 100 more MHz clock on the GPU.
Card is already struggling to keep cool... Lol
Man, all your videos have blown up in the past 2 weeks.....
can you compare this with the 7970?
Maybe the 7970 will win. I feel this card a little bit slower than my r9 270x.
My first GPU was a GTX 645 in an i7-2600 Dell Optiplex rig. Treated me nicely .
Can you do the GTX 680 lightning edition please? :D
I've seen a few of these "retro 670" reviews. I find it interesting that all reviews I've seen test the 2gb version of the card. I've a 4gb version in my secondary PC (which I no longer game on). It begs the question: What differences, if any, do those extra two GB make when playing recent titles?
In assasin Creed your i5 reached 90%+ usage and i was thinking for a second that it's bottlenecking the GPU but later it went down so it's probably the only one place in benchmark what needs a lot cpu I think at 2.40 or so
3:52 the dude in the tank was like : yeah, no fuck this
I had this card. It was awesome. I upgraded to the 2070. Lol I love them both
Ah, 7pm here and I was waiting for this vid :D
I'd actually love to see random gaming do more retro orientated reviews also, for example older pci/agp based cards such as the ATI radeon 9600 Pro or nvidia 5000 series equivalent 😁
I still think my favorite card of all time is the 690. Beautiful card and extremely powerful. Wish I would have kept it just to put it on the wall of my computer room.
I had this same exact card before. The fans are REALLY poorly designed and dinky, but it was one of the most impressive cards I've owned at the time. 670 could do anything and even felt like overkill for a long while.
where are the older game benchmarks eg 2015/2016
*5 years later*
can RTX2080Ti still hit 60 FPS?
I use my Asus ROG G75VW with the GTX 670M for creating videos and it’s still insanely fast and smooth.
The Msi Power Editions are built to last. I have two Versions The 7850 and 660 ti and Overclock them even more and they still run cool.
When I listened to the intro i thought i had 2x speed on the video lol
lmao :D
The best 670 was the windforce 4gb with its triple fans. Huge over clocker, low temps, great card.
What about the gtx590 the best graphic card of 2011 can you make a video of it??
TEAM Nefføs he already did
I've got an FX 4100 and a GTX 650ti.
@@jakegarrett8109 I'm not about to pair a Titan with an FX CPU lol :D
my evga gtx 660 ftw sig 2 still runs great although one of the fans died recently so it now runs hotter than normal. i might replace the fans and fan shroud altogether.
Would you mind benchmarking Borderlands 2 and Pre Sequel with this card? I've heard that the 600 series runs it better than modern cards due to poor optimisation - in particular, my 1060 runs it fine but during intense battle scenes the fps will stutter a fair bit.
Are there better frametimes on older AMD cards, or are nvidia drivers still holding up?
I think 3gb of vram helps card like the 7970-7950 over the 680 and 670. Its sad back in the day I upgraded a vapor x 7970ghz to a 780 classified and back then it was a good bit faster. Today there pretty damn close to each other. But my classified will do 1300mhz that helps it a lot and its still fine for 1080p. It was the most ive ever spent for a card until my strix 2080ti.
Chad Hay hopefully buying a Radeon 7 will be like buying a 7950 back in the day
Subbed :)
randomgaminginhd i have a question unfortunately it is out of topic, my question is what antivirus you are currently using now ??
I asked this before, but could you try arma 2? Yes it is old and not that relevant but with the highest resolutions and view ranges its hard to run for any pc
I still have a GTX 680 GAINWARD 4GB with my i5 4590 still plays most games at 60fps I'll upgrade eventually but for now I'm happy
I wish Msi still doing those twin frozr design.. It looks gorgeous 😍😍😍😍
My first gaming pc had a gtx 670, it honestly lasted longer than I expected, easily hit 5 years before I felt I needed an upgrade. :D I ended up selling it and getting a gtx 1080 now that I've fully embarrassed pc gaming. cx
Had this exact same card.. Used it for 5 years, it died on me. Had to mod new fans onto it at some point, to keep it going. Rest in peace my friend.
ToRt1sher did you try switching the thermal paste?
@@loafoffloof3420 Like, a million times. In the end there was some problem with the core. The oven helped for a few days, then back to square one. The card had some kind of power problem i think, because even with the best conditions, MX-4 paste, and the fans going strong at 3.000 RPM, it would operate at 78 degrees in some games. I wanted an upgrade anyway, but I was sad to see the soldier fall in the battlefield like that.
Other than vram it's still hard a huge hardware advantage over my GTX 960m I reckon it'll do well.
This is a very cool video!
I'm happy with around 45 fps, still quite smooth and responsive, and not as stressful on my budget system.
I'd say 50fps for me
@@Ranclaud2006 Yeah, in the old days 25 fps was the target because that was all a PAL TV could do, well 50 fps if you allow for the scan lines.
Where do you buy all your hardware from?
bit ridiculous how an i5 8400 is bottlenecking in odyssey when paired with an ancient gtx 670
Thank the ubisoft for that. Even my 2700x bottlenecks sometime for a sec because of shitty protection that is usseles anyway.
Is the 1050ti more powerful? Bcs i want to play origins on the pc. I played it some hours on PS4 but can’t look at these 30fps. Even 720p wouldn’t be a problem for me if I hit 60FPS then
Good looking card and okay performance but 2gb vram in 2019 is definitely a NO NO
Depends on what you play, really. 2gb vram is plenty for competitive games e.g tf2 CS:GO fortnite apex
@@afurryferret That's like saying the Intel HD Graphics are enough to run minesweeper, it's true but doesn't make it any better... Even Apex probably uses more than 2Gb
Osum video love from Buddy Tech RUclips channel
This gpu is still great as long as you keep the resolution modest, at 1280x1024 this thing can do 60 fps at high settings on most games
Are you using the latest version of driver ?
