Doing RUclips and maintaining several sponsorship partners over years pays well. A successful RUclipsr I watch disclosed her YT income before doing any sponsorships, uploading 2-3 videos (vlogs) a week over nearly a decade, and she said she made well over 10-15k a month + her full-time job income?! Naturally she quit her main job and now does YT fulltime with adding sponsored content to her repertoire. Influencers do work hard, don't get me wrong, but 10-15k a month hard, I don't know. :D
Tyler’s advice on piano lessons resonated with me, but for reading. My son did not appear to be a strong reader and did not get good scores for reading. I was surprised because he always loved books and being read to. I figured he would love learning to read but he didn’t. Until we started taking him to the library and letting him pick out his own books. When he started reading what interested him, those scores rose very quickly. He just wasn’t interested as much in the required reading so he wasn’t putting forth the effort. 😉
My daughters loved to read until they hit middle school and had to read certain books. When my oldest was in high school she said once that school ruined reading for her. How sad is that? Luckily they are both back to enjoying reading.
My favorite part of the vlogs are when you two are together.. especially the end of the day chat sessions. It’s so refreshing to see two people genuinely happy and in love. You can tell you guys are best friends! Love to see it! ❤

I remember for years I wanted to take vocal lessons. Finally after probably 12 or so years, I found someone. We went through the weirdest vocal practices and I'm like what is this? I recorded my coach doing it, went home and practiced every day. Then one day I told her "can we play Adele? I really like some of these songs and her range is awesome" and she went with it! We practiced her songs and broke everything down. Then I remember one day I was at home, singing a song I loved and I hit a note I've never been able to hit before and I was BLOWN away. I was so proud of myself. I think it's all about balance! If I didn't do those "weird" vocal practices, I don't think it would have been the same! But it was awesome she was willing to compromise and practice songs I loved, while also doing the basics 👍 man, I miss vocal lessons!
I think the reason I enjoy vlogmas so much is getting to see the real Tyler and Jessica. Of course we’ll never truly know y’all, but I see so much of my own relationship in you two - it is so apparent that you two are best friends and true partners in life. I just appreciate getting a glimpse into your awesome family ❤ thank you for sharing with us!
omgosh ya'll, I am enjoying this vlogmas so much! We lost one of our sweet pugs mid November and it has been really difficult to get 'in the spirit' these vlogs are one of the things that literally can make me LOL. rub your sweet 4 legged babies belly a lil extra for us and our sweet Amelia. We still have her sister Sophie but it is still so quiet and the world is just a bit dimmer.

Bought Splurt when Jess talked about it a week or so ago so I could bring it to Christmas. We were a bit slower due to trying to include my 94 year old grandpa who's a bit slower these days, but can't wait to play it in another group of people soon! !
Yay! Another self-taught piano player here! I started out with just figuring out song melodies, and I eventually “graduated” to writing a musical as part of my high school graduation project. It can actually be fun and very rewarding to teach yourself how to play musical instruments. P.S. This is my first year following Vlogmas every day, and I’ve really enjoyed it. Thank you for all of the hard work you’ve both put into this, and I’m looking forward to going back and binging past Vlogmases ❤
I really hope you two realize how lucky you are. I worked FT when my kids were young & my parents never helped. I definitely didn't get to get my nails done or work out run errands during the day. I also worked long days, 5 days a week. 52 weeks a year. You live a very charmed life.

Buying a space is a great idea. I bought a small house to put my office in which was on the outskirts of our downtown. That was 18 years ago. It has now tripled in value (as the downtown moved to me) and as I near retirement I am thrilled to have the extra investment value. I can either rent it or sell it. A win/win for me. When you are self-employed every little bit helps. Love your videos btw.
So a game y’all would LOVE is called “that’s it!” Similar to this. There’s 5 hints/answers per card, you read the hint and then everyone shouts their answer, first person with the exact answer wins. First person to win 3 cards wins the round. It’s literally the most fun game to play with a group. Love doing it on family days. 😊

Tyler, I totally agree with your little piano teacher tip! I took piano lessons for 10 years and quit when I was in high school. Now I’m 27 and feel like I don’t remember a single thing haha! But definitely if I had a teacher who taught me songs that I wanted to learn I think I might’ve been more passionate about learning piano and practicing the songs
So I pulled out our Sushi Go! We have had it for awhile and never played but you inspired us. WE LOVE IT!! We have played the traditional way. We have even put up a privacy board to play secretly so we can’t see what the opposite player laid down until the end. It’s just all around fun and addicting lol. PLAY IT! It seems more overwhelming than it really is. We have played where we just pass out 10 cards face up to see who can make the best hand. That helped our daughters to learn.

Yes! Learn songs you want to play! That's the issue I also had when learning the piano! My aunt was my teacher and made me learn 'by the book' so I bought sheet music for music I liked and taught myself those songs. You are doing exceptionally well for self taught!

Where I live school is k-6. Junior High is 7-9 and High School is 10-12. Anyway we (the choir) sang A Whole New World as our 9th grade promotion song. It will always be one of my favorites ❤
That’s amazing advice about the keyboard and lessons!! I never thought about it like that. I think I’m gonna get my daughter a beginner keyboard because she loves music but I thought if we went the traditional route she would get bored.

That is such good advice about finding a piano teacher. I took lessens when I was in 7th and 8th grade and I hated it. I had those “ pre manufactured” books! I was kinda pressured into it to. I started taking lessons from the nuns at school and about my 3rd lesson I came home from school and there was a piano in the house. Talk about pressure. Then my mom took me to a music school (cause the nun teaching the lessons almost broke my pinky finger cause I was hitting the note incorrectly) and I would go to my room and hope my mom would forget about the lesson. It worked some weeks. But maybe i was learning music I like, I may have stuck with it.
My niece just got a piano for Christmas, and we ordered her a Super Mario theme music piano book because she loves video games 🤣 ...needless to say she loved it.
I was in Kohl's today and saw Splurt on clearance for $4. Glad I watched this video last night because I snatched two up. One for me and one to give as a gift.
Oh man, I so agree about finding the right piano teacher that lets kids play songs they're interested in. I had a piano teacher who made me play the most boring songs...and sure enough, I totally lost interest & stopped lessons

Oh man, I so agree about finding the right piano teacher that lets kids play songs they're interested in. I had a piano teacher who made me play the most boring songs...and sure enough, I totally lost interest & stopped lessons
